Count me as another who would be real happy to see Helfrich come back as the OC. Especially if he was allowed to run his scheme i.e. call his plays unabated. Not going to happen though I don't think. Hopefully Mark is chilling in Coos Bay or something and spending winters somewhere warm. I am however starting to wonder about Cristobal and his ability to get along with his high profile coordinators eg. Leavitt and Moorhead. Perhaps it would be better to bring in a younger and more eager to please guy?

Regardless of who they decide is coach of the year there is one person who is coaching better than anyone else in the Pac 12 and that is Jonathan Smith. He is doing more with less than anybody.....and it's not even close. A few of the games the Beavers won this year were practically due to decisions that Smith made relative to clock management as well as play calling.

Once again we gave up 20+ points to the Beavers in the 4th quarter. That is unacceptable in my mind. And we lost the second half 26-14.....a sign of a team letting up. Super happy we won, but we just don't seem to have that killer instinct.

They overturned it because of the fact it would of ejected Mckinley from the first half next week.

Oh jeez. Now we are down 3 of our 4 best players next week....at least in the first half. We are in big trouble against Utah. Nevermind.

Now the big question. Will Wright and Sewell be able to go next Friday night?????

Why oh why do we have sooooo many false start penalties???? We have something wrong with our cadence or something. And there's another one.....right on cue.

Wow! Just wow! Jonathan Smith is in another stratosphere coaching wise then any one of our staff. Comes out makes the adjustments and is beating us 18-7 in the second half as our staff plays not lose. Except I guess for all the goofy 2 point conversion attempts that weren't needed.

Ruh roh Scoob!!!! Jonathan Smith up to his old tricks again. Didn't he do this same thing last year with the onside kick?

He has been a monster in this one. Talk about showing up when it counts. Our we losing him after this season?

Hutson + Williams + Franklin + Thornton + Mcgee Yeah I like that future. Ty Thompson has the potential to set records over the next few seasons with these guys running routes.

Now I feel real good about our chances. Although I would love to see Thib's and the D come out and stone OSU in this next possession. Plus, just to add some more fun to this game Alabama is getting beat 10-0 by Auburn right now to boot.

4th quarter. Remember the last two times the Beavers have beat us they came back in the 4th quarter to do so. We need a score (at least a field goal) on this drive right here.

This team just can't find a way to sustain momentum. They were iced by the half time break.

I guess the answer was..........Or This one will go down to the wire. Remember Smith and the Beavers came back last year and scored 22 points in the 4th quarter.

Now is gut check time for Brown and the O. Can they respond with a score to demoralize the Beav's? Or..............

Yep, anyone who thought this one was over and that the Beav's wouldn't fight back was kidding themselves.

No matter what you say about Brown you can't say he doesn't put in a lot of effort. What a great run for that TD. This is exactly how you would dream the first half would go. The defense has been the most surprising. I assumed the Beav's would score quite a few points. Mckinley has shown up in a big way again.

Yeah, you can tell by how so many of our games have unfolded this year.

Smith has adjusted. The run game is not working here in the last two drives.

I really hope the team does not have this mindset.

Kind of a typical end to that drive with the botched screen play, a few bad passes and then the penalty from the offensive line. That was the exact recipe that got our butts kicked by 31 points last week. The only difference.........Lewis drilled the field goal this time so at least there is that.

I guarantee the Beavers will not go away in this one. They can score bunches of points in a hurry. Jonathan Smith is the best coach in the Pac12 in my opinion. He will adjust. Gotta put our foot on their throat on the defensive side. Gotta get stops on 3rd down......our achilles heel.

And here we go with our first special teams mistake kicking it out of bounds!!! The sheer amount of mistakes we make on special teams is unreal.
