Everybody needs to remember that just because a coach is successful in Eugene doesn’t mean he is going to succeed elsewhere. It’s not always because they don’t perform well. Sometimes they take a job with a head coach who isn’t doing too well. Klemm and Donte Williams are two recent examples. However, I have high hopes for Dilly.

We only see that Lock had him to practice on occasion. We don’t know what kind of personal relationship they developed in the past couple of years. If anybody knows what it’s like to be a minority football coach in Eugene it’s Gary Campbell. He could provide the kind of mentorship that Lock might not find within the staff. Chip may have reached out to Campbell to gauge Lock’s interest or to see if Campbell thought he might be a good fit for Chip’s coaching style and offensive philosophy. Smart coaches often use their personal relationships as part of their candidate search. The interview is part of the process but it’s not the only factor.

The fact that Lock’s guys didn’t fumble is a huge selling point for him. I also get the sneaking suspicion that Chip and Gary Campbell were involved.

I hate it. The surprise onside kicks that swung the momentum of games are no longer possible. Oregon probably doesn’t beat Stanford in 2010 without that onside kick as it definitely took the wind out of their sails. Usually when a team is hyped as a bracket buster they get beat in the first round. It’s the sleepers you have to worry about.

If you have the chance to watch Full Swing on Netflix they did a good job of highlighting his rise to prominence with the help of his sports psychologist. It’s a great series all around.

As soon as the playing field is leveled a bit, little Nicky quits his job and cries to politicians to fix it. The system isn’t perfect, but at least there is parity in college football again. Another thing. The only group of people who can screw up college football worse than the NCAA is the politicians in DC. They have bigger fish to fry anyway.

I hope Mark Campbell hasn’t gotten too used to Ft. Worth yet. In all honesty, he doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would ditch TCU after only one season. He’s had some good success despite the adversity his team faced this season.

Craigslist is just a haven for scammers and criminals, so it had to have been a swamp rat. I’m surprised that anyone took the ad seriously. It only took me about one day of searching for boats a few years ago to figure this out. I’ve never looked at that site since. I’m glad they were quick to remove the ad.

This completely ruined the NBA for me. It started with LeBron in Miami and then him jumping around from city to city amassing a group of talented stars to help him win championships. That got Golden State into the act when they signed Durant to go with Curry.

I don’t think Taylor Swift or the families would want cameras and microphones inside their suite. There’s probably too much emotion, bad language, etc. I think she enjoys getting to cut loose and be herself away from the spotlight for a while.

Duck football is king for me. Many years of living in Spokompton turned me into a Zags basketball fan (hey, Few is a Duck, so it’s close). The 2017 Final Four could’ve gotten awkward but the Tar Heels ruined everything.
