  1. Offord didn't play last game according to these guys. They're also saying there's a 50/50 chance he transfers with his brother. We'll have to see if he gets any playing time in the next 3-4 weeks. If he redshirts then I would guess he will follow his brother.
  2. That reminds me of the 2009 USC "Fright Night" game at Autzen. So much emotion went into dominating them that Oregon came out flat against Stanford the following week. Stanford dominated early and OBD could never catch up.
  3. And he's a huge Longhorns fan. It couldn't be easy to put on the same uniform we wore in the 2013 Alamo bowl the last time we beat Texas.
  4. They'll be playing at the Cotton Bowl (Texas State Fair) in Dallas, but with Mateer out for a few weeks and Arch manning looking more like Arch Bunker, it doesn't seem as compelling a match-up as it once was. The only draw for the Gameday crew is smoked emu drumsticks, calf fries and deep fried Little Debbie cakes.
  5. There’s an old saying about ESPN. They like to put their mouth where their money is.
  6. Our only competition is the Texas State Fair. They love Texas/OU games.
  7. Not the Oregon game, but very funny.
  8. Dan Lanning had the attitude that he was playing with house money. Penn State had the returning stars, the bye week and the “white out”. I think his thought was if Oregon is going to steal this one then he needed to take some chances and make Franklin coach all four downs.
  9. Five SEC teams in the top 10. I can feel ESPN’s collective giddiness.
  10. It seemed like Penn State picked up more 3rd and long conversions than they should have.
  11. I looked it up. Tuioti is a returning starter. Jackson is not.
  12. Oregon beat Penn State in Happy Valley with four returning starters from last year’s team (Laloulu, Jackson, Boettcher, and Uiagalelei). That’s pretty impressive.
  13. It was a lovely evening for football. Full disclosure, though. I left after the 3rd quarter. I absolutely hate traffic more than I love football. There are folks who won’t even be on the interstate until 2:00 AM.
  14. No sacks and only four penalties in that environment against a solid defense. DL had those guys ready to go. When they didn’t succumb to the noise to start the game I thought they might pull this one out.
  15. Listening to their fans talk about him was disappointing. They openly talk about him like he’s a piece of trash. The scrutiny he’s under is unbelievable. He does deserve better.
  16. I sat in NCU. The majority of Duck fans were in NLU and NKU. When PSU had the ball they were loud as hell for such a small section. The PSU fans in our section were somewhat surprised at the noise that was coming from over there. I told them to add 58K more fans and you get a hint at what Autzen is like.
  17. I plan on it. I’m parking in Lot 25. We’re going to walk to the stadium and catch the CATA blue line to the Old Main Lawn. Afterward, we’ll head back to the car to change clothes and get ready for the tailgate. There will likely be an ice cream stop at the creamery in there somewhere.
  18. Just a FYI for the visitors from Oregon and other states not named Pennsylvania. If you wish to buy pre-game libations you can only buy beer at a distributor and some convenience stores. However, the convenience stores only sell small volumes (six pack and lower). I will be bringing a case of select NC IPA’s to the tailgate just in case their only offering is Yeungling, which is Pennsylvania’s version of Henry Weinhard.
  19. They don’t want to go all white. It would blend into the crowd from the field level. Penn State fans did a white-out for the B1G Championship Game. They took up roughly 75% of Lucas Oil Stadium. Black contrasted well during that game.
  20. From what I've been told from many of my old friends who are Coug and fuskie fans, Duck students aren't any better. They're always going to act like little turds unless you summon some of your old drinking skills and put them to shame. Then they'll worship you like a Norse god.
  21. Send me a PM with your email address and I will email you the details (time, location, map, etc.) of the tailgate party that NJDuck has been coordinating.
  22. Arch Manning is slowly creeping his way back up after his Uncle Peyton-like performance against Sam Houston State.
  23. Has Oregon ever played that far east at night? Playing at Penn State will be very difficult. Not only for the noise, but also for the fight and long bus ride from Harrisburg. Getting back home won’t be a picnic either. Washington is always a difficult venue, but it’s a short flight, so the team can handle all Friday pre-game activities in Eugene before jetting up to Seattle.
