  1. Certainly going to be an interesting year for Oregon football.
  2. "Acting like punks"? I seem to remember Jimmy lake acting like a punk once this year. That among other things cost him his job. Loser.
  3. 41-27 OU. Stoops is the decider. 0-1-210 I don't think it will be fun for Duck fans to watch.
  4. I'll be rooting for Michigan. I would love to see MI take down GA and AL. Last thing I want is another SEC playoff.
  5. Who are the Ducks playing for? What is actually going to motivate them? Certainly not the coaches as they're all leaving. Each other? Pride? Like the 2nd UT game when they said they were eager to back on the field and show UT what they're really made of. Will playing OU be enough to motivate them? Any effort better than the last two UT games will work for me.
  6. From a fan standpoint on paper the Alamo Bowl looks to be a disaster for both teams. From a players standpoint it's an opportunity to play one last game and for some to get more playing time because some have opted out. I'll be watching the game and not really expecting anything close to what a 100% roster would produce, but it's the Ducks vs the Sooners and that's good enough for me.
  7. Pure speculation as to who starts at QB next year. Odds are Nix starts but I'm in the camp that thinks Lanning's going all CYA here and giving himself a safety net in Nix. Nix gives him the best chance for immediate success. It's hard to say whether the young QB's in waiting are going to be up to speed with Dillys offensive plan. Nix gives the Ducks a head start on the season next year and if TY and Co are all that close then it's entirely possible that one of them passes Nix during the season. Yeah we said the same thing this year but the young QB's have another year of practice to help. The big question is who stays if Nix starts?
  8. If you want respect then you need to win the games. It's this way every year.
  9. I wonder how much MC's stubbornness played a role in Ty not playing? Even if the effort was there it could've been passed over so MC could take the safe route. No one seems to know why Ty didn't start. Bases covered with Nix.
  10. Oh okay yeah I didn't check his eligibility length. Hmmm I guess it's good for the team but maybe tough for some young QB's.
  11. On the plus side we won't be staring an unproven QB in next years opener. Assuming Nix is the starter.
  12. I was worried about this happening. I guess it's all part of being a player on the cusp. You wait for you chance than it's snatched away by an incoming transfer. I would bet Dilly dilly will start Nix over TT or Butterfield. Who transfers? Then what happens in 2023? Maybe I'm over thinking it.
  13. It's more about the players than the fans IMO. This is their reward or end result of their hard earned efforts this season. I don't think I could tell all those players still on the team that it won't be worth playing one more game this season because your HC left and some of your teammates left as well.
  14. Why would the interim coaches care about developing talent for next season during their last game coaching in a bowl game? Seems to me it's all about winning the Alamo Bowl vs an OOC weak opponent game where you can test the talent of a new QB.
  15. How involved is Lanning in this game? He's still coaching his GA defense. Just a hunch but I'm betting that as of now AB gives the ducks the best chance to be in the game. It would seem that if it gets out of hand and Oregons down by several TD's that Ty would see some game time. Or if AB comes out looking like he did against UT and he gets benched the coaches would insert Ty or one of the other QB's. Looks like the staff is just staying the course for now.
  16. Fan wise it's a great home game schedule. Record wise it's going to be a down year next year.
  17. I wanted to know if he's ever thought about calling a time out on his 1st play of the opening drive.
  18. I spent 30 yrs in construction and found that age and experience aren't determining factors for leadership or the ability to be self sustained.. There were many guys that I hired that were in there 40's 50's that just weren't as sharp as some in their 30's or even 20's. It's the 'it' factor IMO. You either have it or you don't. I think it all depends on how you analyze your surroundings and apply that to your decision making. While an old crusty might seem like a lifeline hire for Lanning I think there are enough young guns out there that between Lanning and that young gun they'll figure it out pretty quickly so for me it's not a concern as a long as they can work together well enough.
  19. Low risk low reward High risk high reward Lets hope it's not high risk low reward. It's all so new right now that it's just speculation as to what will become if the Lanning hire. Everything was all rainbows and unicorns when MC got hired. Talk is cheap. As much as I'm excited for the hire I've put my expectations on hold until next fall.
  20. Hopefully we'll get to see Ty play in the Alamo bowl. That may end some of the speculation about him.
  21. Here's an interesting scenario. Nix was the QB under Dillingham at AU. Any chance that if Dillinghams hired that Nix transfers to Oregon? that would blowup our young QB's. Per Fansided The current Florida State OC left the program after an 8-4 regular season finish and didn’t stick around to see two straight six-win seasons. At this point, without Nix as QB1, Dillingham looks more likely to take the Oregon OC job offered by new head coach Dan Lanning and bring Nix with him.
  22. My point was Herbert was a SR and played his last UO game in the Rose. Brown was the QB for the Alamo.
  23. Justin Herbert didn't opt out. But I guess he's not the kind of guy that only thinks about himself.
