  1. If the Ducks were 5-0 and played like a then #3 team I bet the fan forums would be rocking. The Furd loss sucked what little enthusiasm was left. Mediocre play calling and mediocre team play and there's not a lot to get excited about. How bad is it when fans are wondering if the Ducks will beat Cal or barely beat Cal or blow them out?

  2. I've been a Duck fan since the early 80's. Had season tickets off and on until 2009. Now we just buy a couple single game tickets and pick ones we want to watch. Went to the FS game and what a downer. Yes the Ducks won but could they make it look any harder?

We have tickets to the Cal game. Told the wife this morning that if we hadn't bought the tickets I'd be just as happy staying home. Sitting there for 3.5 hrs watching the Ducks stumble like a 6-6 team doesn't sound like a fun way to spend a nice fall evening.

I predict 2 more losses. P12 Champ game and at least one other game along the way.

I believe Chip Kelly would not have gone with AB.  He would have went with TT.  Used maybe RA or JB as the backup, but have AB help guide the other QBs due to his experience.  But, not sure if Chip would have used the transfer portal to get AB with the talent of QBs already on his list to use.

I think with having the week off and playing CAL the following week, this would have been a good opportunity to prepare TT to play the majority of the game against CAL.  As someone said, CAL will stack the box due to AB's inaccuracies in the passing game.  With TT the threat is there to burn CAL in the passing game.  Would make a difference in the running game.

Without JM there to help tutor TT IMO it's highly unlikely TT would start.

Yeah, I agree. 4 out of our 5 games we haven't looked worthy of being ranked in the top 25 let alone the top 10. However, the fact that we man handled tOSU on their home field says to me that there is no way Ohio State should ever be ranked above us when we have the same record.

Well maybe Ohio St got their stuff together. Looks like the Ducks are back sliding. Is Ohio St better now than when they played the Ducks. The Ducks are clearly worse now. Teams change and get hot or cold. Lets hope Oregon didn't peak during the Ohio St game.

I would add that if they played now, Oregon would lose.

  5. It'll never happen as long as MC is coach. Barely counting last year, he's had four seasons to develop an offensive style that could win an NC. His style is a consistent mess when it comes to clock management and play calling. I've seen games where Oregon's got the kickoff and on the 1st series he's already calling a time out. That kind of mismanagement is what will keep him out of an NC game. In fact unless the CFP is expanded I don't ever see MC taking the Ducks to the CFP's.

  6. Can barely stand to watch them when they're at home on TV. That gawd awful chainsaw crap is so back woods irritating. I like to see them lose but sometimes I do root for them like the last game against UW. Definitely root for them in bowl games like I do for every other P12 team except UW. Needless to say I'm already nervous about this years CW game. Or whatever it's called.

  7. Will the AB that beat Ohio St ever return? I look at AB like a Country Club pro instructor. They know how to do all the swings and can clearly see what's wrong with my swing but they aren't as gifted as the guys on the tour that make a living playing golf vs being instructors. The CC pro may play in some regional events but will never make the big ones.

AB is that kind of QB IMO. He knows the game but isn't gifted enough to make a big impact.

  8. They're out there but AB can't throw it close enough for them to catch it or AB runs with the ball.

Out of 80 plays AB passed 26 times and ran 12 times. AB only completed 14/26 passes. Dye had 4, CJ had 1.

So 21 passes thrown to WR/TE's and of those 21 passes thrown only 9 were caught. I counted 4 late throws in the 1st qtr.

AB can't get the ball into the hands of the players that can get the most yards.

  9. I'm not a super vapid Duck fan that lives and dies for stat's so I haven't took the time to really look at who's playing and whos hurt other than the obvious.  I do wonder WTH happened to the team that played Ohio St? Brown was pretty accurate and as a whole the game plan was solid.

I know for a fact that JM was not there and the center Forsythe didn't play. Those IMO are pretty big. There's so many area's to pass the blame too starting with Browns in accuracy which had nothing to do with JM Or Forsythe not being there. But I do wonder and I've heard that MC has stated that he's never had this many injuries on a team before, if those injuries are much deeper than the mantra "Next Man Up" can handle.

Oregon's starting a lot of FR and Soph's so when one of them gets hurt there's a 4-5* player waiting but with little experience. It's learn on the fly. Is MC trying to milk as much out of Brown as he can knowing that TT will be learning on the fly? MC doesn't seem like a gambler so I'll be really surprised if TT starts against Cal.

I'll give up for the season IF I don't see any big changes in the Cal game.  It is clear to everybody that big changes need to be made.  Oregon can still be a one loss team.  There are 3 talented RBs to replace Verdell and there are 3 talented QBs to replace Brown.  Dollars may come back soon?

But if I see the same old crap in two weeks, then I am throwing in the towel.

Agree on the RB's but if AB starts then it the SOS. I will be totally shocked if TT starts.

This is the case isn't it? For all the success Mario has had at Oregon, his future really comes down to what he does the next two weeks without a game being played.

And that's pretty much why I don't see an upside. I have not been shocked by changes except for the Ohio St game. I really thought this was going to be the year. It wasn't like we blew out some podunk team by 60 points. We beat Thee Ohio State after going 0-8 against them. Maybe they're a little overrated? But certainly they'd beat most teams in the P12. Then we nose dive in the next 3 games. Whats gives? I'm just not seeing a positive pattern developing. I like roller coaster rides but only at the amusement park.

  12. IMO this seasons toast as far as the CFP goes. Ducks will be lucky to make the Rose. Too many issues going on right now and with UT, UCLA, WA and Ast on the road I just don't see an upside to the season. Looks like Verdell may be out for the season. JM is still in the hospital. AB's error prone. Lots of key injuries. Way too many obstacles to overcome for the season to have a happy ending. Everyone keeps saying if this or that changes then the Ducks will get better.

When's the last time you saw big changes? I haven't seen any consistency in the last 3 seasons. Except for the run up the gut play. The only thing consistent is the inconsistencies.

Is the sky falling? No but it ain't bright and sunny either.
