  1. Of course we could score now, get a 3 and out and score again.
  2. We need to score now and get the ball back in the 2nd half.
  3. Only lose him for the remainder of this game. No impact on the UCLA game.
  4. Love how we have managed the emotion and penalties.
  5. At this point I think UCLA has the inside track for a PAC 12 Championship game over USC. Based on what I have seen on the field. The good thing for the Ducks is they play UCLA and Utah at home. It is still early thou.
  6. --the winner, Oregon --the score 48-28 --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates 2 --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team 3 --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. 301 yds.
  7. I also think that DL is learning a quick pace. It has been said that you progress the most between week 1 and week 2. While I am not throwing shade at EWU, they are not the caliber of opponent that you can judge your progress against. Especially from #1 UGA to EWU. Today, for me, answered a lot of questions and showed the progress the Ducks have made in 2 short weeks. Coming into this game, I felt that we needed to have the kind of showing that we got, in order to put ourselves back in the national conversation. We will not overcome that week 1 defeat in many minds across the nation, until we prove it against quality opponents. Today was the start of the process. By no means am I downplaying the games between now and Utah, but that game will be another that will make national pundents take another look. I hoped for a win today, but was not as confident as many of you on how dominating of a win it would be. Let’s all be reminded that even though BYU is often overlooked outside of the west, that team was and is a good team. For me this was salve on a gapping wound from week 1 and I have new hope of jumping back into the playoff picture.
  8. I am a native Oregonian and have been a lifelong Duck fan, but now live in GA. I was at the season opener and although it was a rough loss, it was so good to see the Ducks in person again. While at the game, sitting in the Duck section, I heard many calling for DL to be fired already. It was disturbing to me and I thought classless. I can’t tell you how prevelant it was, but there were some all around me with that attitude. Today, my sister was at the game and prior to the start she heard the same conversations around her. I imagine that now it will quiet down, and perhaps not be heard again until a loss (hopefully not this season). Anyway, my question to you locals is, are you hearing this in your circles and around town? Also, while at the game here in Atlanta, I won two tickets to the Standford game from Chick-fil-a at the fan experience. Hopefully I will be attending in a couple weeks if I can swing it.
  9. I'm at the game and while it is frustrating and disappointing. Georgia is the real deal. The expectations of our team were obviously way to high. I'm not giving up on them. We were just introduced to SEC football. There won't be any more difficult team in our schedule this year. Now we need to see how the players and the coaches respond.
  10. I was raised in eastern Oregon and spent most of my career in Los Angeles area. I retired to Vegas, but my better half did not like the desert. So we followed a number of our grandkids to North GA. Honestly it is amazing how friendly and welcoming everyone is. There is a reality to southern charm and comfort. Everywhere my wife and I go, she is treated as Baby, Honey, Darling. It just makes here feel warm and welcomed, and I can tell you it is heartfelt. It is just how the people here are raised and interact. BTW, they could care less about where we came from. My wife had picked up a southern accent almost immediately. She doesn’t force it, it is just a natural adaptation to her surroundings. The worst part about living here is that a 7-8pm PAC 12 game is 10-11pm here. Tough to schedule, fortunately I’m retired and a night owl. BTW I don’t disagree that there are neighborhoods and communities like this out west. I just don’t believe it is as prevelant.
  11. Being a Northerner, now living in the south, it is very refreshing to get out on an evening walk and actually converse with your neighbors on the entire walk. That being said, I am hosting 13 of my family from the west/north Labor Day weekend and we are all wearing green to the game. GO DUCKS!
  12. If this report is true, I imagine it is a reactionary response to the other remaining PAC XX teams heading elsewhere. Including OBD. The question still remains, but where? I would think that would be the B1G. I can’t decide which path I would prefer the ducks to head down, but if there is truth to the rumors that US&C left in part to screw the Ducks, I would love to once again spoil their party. Also the pleasure of being a thorn in their side year after year would be delightful. Those two SoCal teams did the PAC 12 dirty. They were not helping to strengthen the conference, nor were they headed in that direction. So bailout in the dark of the night to another big boy league where they can reap the rewards of others hard work and generosity. They were being out recruited in their backyard by the likes of OBD and Utah. Maybe the B1G will help them recruit, probably not if they can’t put a winning product on the field. I’m a lurker, native Oregonian now living in GA. Yes I have my tickets to the opener on Sep 3rd. Go Ducks!
  13. On a personal note, living GA as a duck fan, I hate the 7-8pm start times. It makes me a grumpy Gus the next few days after staying up past 2am to watch OBD.
  14. Can someone explain to me why we were so short of players on defense. So short that we had O linemen playing D line. TE playing defense. Is is true we had returning players just opt out for no reason given? If that is true how does that impact the studs that showed up and put it on the line tonight? Just curious what is up. I know we had some players declare for the draft and opted out. I’m talking about returners that didn’t. Anyone know? Travis Dye was not a disaster. I sure hope he returns for next year.
  15. 2nd option for me as well. I found myself over the last 6 weeks saying to myself “I long for the days when we would put up 35 points in the first half and maybe not make the CFP. Then endure the stagnet offense we have had all of this year.” OVer powering our opponent is boaring and it didn’t work in the end.
