  1. I would be surprised if the CFP committee pushed Georgia over Oregon for #1. Florida gave them all they could handle at home until the 4th qtr. Oregon went into the Big House and put at least as big a hurt on Michigan as Texas did. OBD deserves to be #1 until proven otherwise. The ESPN pundits just put Oregon in the Rose Bowl as #1 against #8 or #9 Notre Dame and then in the NC game against Georgia. Continue to take care of business and that sounds just about right.
  2. It would have been great if it was Troy, but it was Sutton that threw the pass. So now Bo knows TDs as a runner, passer and receiver.
  3. I was impressed by both of his TDs, the type, given his previous inconsistencies, that coaches go "no, no, no....alright!" He may have caught the Duck DBs a bit off guard as they didn't expect him to make, or even attempt, those throws. He was decent rolling out of the pocket and threw stuff away when he didn't have a target. I don't see him giving the Bucknut secondary too much grief, but he is a viable option for a passing game they've lacked. One that will help the Michigan defense stay off the field and be even more effective than they are already. Good for them!
  4. I am in full agreement with David. Rogers may have been beat a few times in pass pro but he blocked well during the 4th qtr in the run game. He didn't generate any false starts and while he may have allowed some pressures, he didn't get DG dumped on his arse by Graham or Grant. I think he is listed on the depth chart as Cornelius' back up at RT. Sliding him in at RG against the best DTs in the country was bound to have a few hiccups. The interior OL was already predicted to be an issue against Michigan, and it's not like Harper had played pristine football to that point in the game. Terry, Stein and DL obviously thought Rogers was the best option. It's why those guys cross train across the entire line. Based on the initial reports it looks like Harper won't be down for long, a good thing since depth is a big issue as long as Bedford is out. The Maryland game will be a good testing ground for Rogers and IOL cohesion if he needs to fill that role for a week or two.
  5. Seeing Tez and Marcus go down is tough. No idea about Harper, but Tez looked like he had a significant right shoulder or clavicle injury. Kawika Rogers, normally an OT, came in for Harper at RG and played pretty well. Holden had a superb game Lowe took up the slack for Tez, and DG did what he does. Great to have Burch and TFerg back and get significant minutes. Yes this performance had it's hiccups, and the 3rd qtr offensive disappearing act is a mystery, but OBD just beat Michigan handily, by 21 pts, in the Big House (which I hear is big!). Give Michigan credit, that is a very stout D-line, that Warren kid played well (no picks) and Loveland is a future NFL TE. The Ducks did what #1 teams do. They defeated a good team on the road and in front of a record crowd of over 110K. I'm not going to spend too much time hand wringing and pearl clutching over a slightly flawed but pretty good win.
  6. Yep, Tez in a sling. Hate to speculate but the hit he took looked like it could be a fractured clavicle. Hope not.
  7. Ok. Take a deep breath. MatayoU just made a great play by sticking with the receiver on that RB passing play and Michigan turns it over on downs
  8. Wake up call. If Tez is out, fair catch the dang ball. Feel bad for Pellum but you can't give Michigan a reason to believe.
  9. Well, that flipped in a hurry. I agree that Miami doesn't look like a #5. Ward may make his mistakes but he is keeping the U afloat.
  10. I'm no Duke fan, at least for hoops, but Im enjoying this. Cristobal getting outcoached again. Time for Mario to dial up the physicality meter to 11!
  11. Well I suppose it makes a holding call a bit less likely. If Troy Dye could do his job with a club hand at LB, then Ajani will do just fine at OT.
  12. So as far as blue-collar physicality vs new-age style is concerned, watch Noah knocking the Illinois DB arse over teakettle and into next Tuesday a few times. Tell me that Oregon is all flash, style and excitement. Don't recall DL spending much time coaching in the B1G. Do recall his time at Alabama and then coaching Georgia's defense to a NC. So we have the SEC mentality of strength and physicality combined with that silly new age speed on the Oregon side. How can that possibly compete against a century of blue and maize?
  13. Ducks 34-16 2 TOs 3 Sacks 325 yds passing
  14. Wolverine fan is hoping to see a reincarnated Bo Schembechler lead the team out of the tunnel in the Big House.
  15. In spite of losing to OBD in Autzen by one point, Day and THEosu are in an existential crisis this weekend. They have arguably the deepest NIL pockets in CFB, the best recruits, the top portal group and a genius OC, yet here they are. The Bucknut fanbase is lighting the torches and sharpening the pitchforks in case they fall to Penn St. It feels so good to see OBD in the driver's seat.
  16. If Penn St takes down tOSU, I don't see Indiana beating the Bucknuts even at home, unless they just fold after two losses and Day is out the door. I'll go with two undefeated B1G teams come December. I think I'd rather see Penn St at Lucas Oil but if Indiana survives to get there even better, although it's essentially a home game for them.
  17. I believe that is prosecutable as attempted murder in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
  18. I see the victor of this game as OBDs likely opponent in the B1G CG. Who do we want to see square off against Oregon in Indy on Dec 7? Does it matter? Should Oregon Duck fans pull for Ohio State or Penn State to win in Week 10? AUTZENZOO.COM Beyond the importance of Oregon's road game at Michigan, the Ducks should pay, at least...
  19. Targeting.... Don't launch No helmet to helmet No crown of helmet Don't touch 'defenseless' player Forfeit 15 yds and at least a half of a game All in the interest of player safety, but it has gone way over the top with every hard football hit getting reviewed. Not sure then how to judge Noah's truck stuck on that poor, defenseless Illinois DB, as Illini fan has complained it should have been targeting. Pretty soon it'll all be powder puff flag football.
  20. Neither is really a spectator sport, but I may watch out of morbid curiosity and schadenfreude.
  21. Oof. That kid is going to hear that repeated into his ear hole several times on Saturday and it may even get a mention on next week's Ducks vs Them. Rule #1: Never give the opposing team locker room greaseboard material, particularly when you lack the funds to cover that check.
  22. Alex hit the key salient goals for Oregon to leave the Big House with the W. Although the Wolverines have a lame passing game, they will undoubtedly have some air wrinkles as they cannot afford to have OBD load the box behind Harmon, Caldwell, Tuioti and MatayoU. The edge will need to be held, gaps maintained, with solid man or zone DB discipline and any misdirection appropriately read to limit anything through the air. A bit like Illinois but with a better defense, Michigan isn't built to come back from two touchdowns down. A fast start by Oregon could put the game away by the half. This is a contest where the 3rd quarter offensive issues could be a problem if the O sputters early or if there are turnovers. I don't expect that as Oregon's talent edge is big enough to stay at least one score ahead of what Michigan can recover from.
  23. So out of the old Pac-12, only #1 Oregon and #22 Wazzu are in the top 25 of the coaches poll. Who'd of figured that one?
  24. CBS hacks certain it's targeting on Holden. Nope. D holds after the pick. Now run the ball and take it home.
