  1. Young Mr. Harbor sounds like an amazing young man. Incredible athlete, high character, and super smart:

“I have thought a lot about medicine, but I am also looking into the engineering field. I want to have a great future after football, and that is why education is so important to me.

“My mom, my dad, my aunt, and uncle have all given me so much knowledge, wisdom, and guidance about education, how important it is, and it really means a lot to me.”

Nyckoles Harbor is a top 10 football prospect in the 2023 class, but his dreams and goals go well beyond what happens between the lines.

  2. Well I wasn’t happy with how Oregon played at the end of the season (bowl game exempted) but UCLA really sucked. Good luck Dante Moore. Welcome to mediocrity. Hope he can control his emotions better than DTR. Terrible leadership by UCLA’s QB. Terrible leadership by Chip who let DTR act that way all season.

How about this? Criticism of all athletes - professional or little league - is way over the top.

There is a whole sub-culture that believes cruelty to others is “cool.”  We see them in social media trolling and snarking others in semi-anonymity. Criticism of performance is okay but the rest is just cruelty.

IMO, the pistol as part of a dynamic true RPO offense with a Bo Nix at the helm is a going to be very different animal than one that pounds it's chest and dares you to stop it when staring at 7 or 8 in the box.

I did read the entire article and certainly hope my pessimism is unfounded. I fear that the pistol works against slower, less athletic defenses but starts to fail against team speed. I remember in the last year of Mario-ball when the team experimented by running pistol plays (universally stuffed) then running non-pistol running plays (universally worked). The offense then moved away from the pistol. I fear the formation will always put running backs and offensive linemen at a disadvantage against the fast, powerful run defenses that Oregon faces at its level of play (vs the slower defenses found where this offense arose).
