Lanning can bow down to De Boer.  Lanning's best hope is DeBoer is off to the NFL.  He cannot beat him.

Oregon beat a lot of weak teams this year.  They are a bit of a fraud.

Talk of Stein being a genius was presumptive.  He also has a lot to learn.  DeBoer is a great teacher! Stein cannot coach his way out of this debacle lol.  And on National TV!!  OMG what a flaming wreck of an effort.  This embarrassment will last long into the post season.

Oregon played a similar schedule to UW and did better against it.

This team is going to choke under the bright lights like all Oregon teams do when a lot is on the line. That is the history of the program....against Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, Auburn, Ohio State in the National title game, etc...  They get close but never finish.

They remind me of the Atlanta Braves of the 90s and Dallas Cowboys under Tony Romo.  Lots of wins and points and flash but under pressure they typically fold.  I know the Braves got a Series in the 90s but man did they make the postseason a ton that decade only got one series win.

I was too late for the prediction thread but when friends asked me if I thought Oregon was going to win the answer was a quick and certain "no".  I just don't see them beating the good teams in big games very often.

Sorry, but where's my thumbs down icon?

People who life long fans and born/raised in the NW. All sympathize regarding the demise of the PAC. It's been our history and traditions for more than a 100 years. The fans that seem OK with it are people who don't live in the NW or came to school here but left. I don't think that the BIG is going to be that great. Too much travel and lack of real competition except the top two teams, maybe three since Jonathan Smith is relocating. It will be exciting to watch the moaning and groaning when they have to come to Autzen, a place none of those teams want to see.

I lived in Oregon for all of 2 1/2 years and I'm sick over the demise of the PAC. I think it is ironic that this last year, the PAC is arguably as good as any conference in the country.

As for UW fans, when I was in Portland most of my best friends were either UW fans or Beaver fans. I found both to be great fan bases, I gravitated to the Duck largely for style of play.

I never really did like UW, though I still have good friends who are UW fans. I do still root for the Beavers when they aren't playing the ducks.

Glancing at the Fusky sites this week has been educational, particularly if you read between the lines a bit. I saw the poll that ABNMoose cited on how many points Fusky Fan thinks Oregon will score tomorrow. 78% thought it would be at least 29, 37% thought 36 or more and 10% at least 43 points

In the six games since Oct 14, UW has averaged 32 pts/game. Oregon has averaged 42 against essentially the same competition and had higher margins of victory because of how well the defense is playing. Given the tendency to minimize the prowess of the opponent in any rabid fan base, an admission by Fusky Fan that the Ducks could score more than the mutts average is telling.

I get the distinct impression from their fan sites that they are bravely spouting the party line of a UW victory, but are privately conceding that the numbers don't support it.

Yes, but the stats of the first game supported at least a 10 point Duck win, except for one, 4th down conversions. I think the stats this time are similar, without the need for 4th down conversions. But being nervous/excited when so much is on the line is not unusual. Anyone else having a little IBS.

  6. I think it is a little harder to instill the want to is some 4-5* guys, but from the get go it seems to have been a focus of DL.

Get better every day. Do something every day to become a better player.

We heard it over an dover again and still do.

Lanning lineage is from two programs that sign a lot of blue chip players and then make them better. He knows you aren't going to win against GA, Bama or OSU or Michigan in the B1G if the 4-5* guys aren't better as Sophs than freshmen and better as Juniors than sophs.

Can he do it to the level of the Utes? That's a big task and maybe not necessary, but I'd sure like to see it.

I agree no self respecting Duck would, but you are a Utes fan so its all good.

Yeah, and I am not full of confidence either, though I picked the Ducks... Go Ducks!, Utah has just been finding ways to win.

I expect it to be very competitive.

  8. Friends in VA are very high on JMU not only this year, but in the future. They have been doing a slow build for some time and just getting better and better. They have done things the right way and it's paying off.

They may not win every game, but I'd bet on this, they would get 4 sacks against any team in the PAC. The D is solid at any level.

On the way they've won two NCs. There overall athletic department is solid, but it will be tough finding their way into a P conference any time soon. Harrisonburg, VA is not exactly a giant market and they are not quite close enough to DC be NOVA.
