  1. Unfortunately I had a previous commitment and didn't see the game live. Hope to catch a replay on PAC Network soon.

Looking at the box score, if I hadn't seen the actual score of the game I would have thought Oregon won by 10. Oregon won every stat except the score. Stats can fool you.

    Missed field goal really hurt.

I, like many others expect this won't be the last time the two teams meet. Hope things are different in Vegas.

  2. The reason I'm pretty confident in this one is that Oregon's defense has been playing well recently and UW hasn't stopped anyone all year.

UW gets some turn overs, but if Oregon takes care of the ball (with the most experienced QB in college football, a likelihood) UW doesn't stop UO's offense all game long.

On the other side, UO stops UW often enough to make this a 2 or 3 score win. Both offenses are really good, but only one defense is. That defense is Oregon's.

    Go Ducks!

I like the “culture” that DL is building at Oregon. Emphasizing “Oregon” standards and mapping out a mental approach to growing as an individual and team.

When reading the article talking about the 90% mental vs. 10% physical approach to winning football games. I immediately thought about how Cristobal preaches the physical part of the game. Which is really the bull in the china shop mentality.

His emphasis on “physicality”, lacks attention to the mental side of winning games. Which he demonstrated so well with his latest coaching disaster. A mistake that most would think would only happen one time in a career.

Amusingly, we saw it happen again. Only this time to a team that paid a large amount of money to bring “their guy” to Miami.

Many of their fans already want a new coach

Thanks for that $8 million buyout Miami.

    Priceless.

It's just the second year and maybe it's a little pre-mature, but I'm sure feeling like Oregon has a mighty big upgrade at HC from MC to DL.

NevadaDawg shared one of the stories being floated but other sources are leaning towards the Ducks as well.  Of course with recruiting, especially in the NIL era, until he signs nothing is completely over.  Regarding the sources you named usually those guys don't flip their prediction until they KNOW, but I would expect them to start flipping soon.

He is a good player so I hope I am wrong and he picks UGA, but it looks and feels like the Ducks.  My poor Dawgs just can't catch a break.😉

Yeah, I think your "poor Dawgs" will be okay. Thanks for sharing the info. Good news for the Ducks! Hope UG gets the guy they want.

  5. Just watched the replay of the Cal UW game. I'm actually not that impressed. Outside of a few big plays to start the game (both of which should have been called back) spotting the pups a 14-0 lead it was a fairly close game. If the Cal QB hadn't had a propensity to throw the ball to Washington defenders Cal may have won.

  6. It will be quite an accomplishment for anyone to run the table in the PAC this year, even 1 loss will be a terrific season for anyone who does it.

But we see how there is already a bias against the conference. Who could watch FSU the last two weeks and rank them ahead of UW or UO? I wouldn't put Penn St. ahead of them either. And Ohio St. hasn't been that impressive either.

But here we are, 4 top ten teams, but ranked 7-10.

I'm hoping a 1 loss team gets into the playoffs and that it is Oregon, but it will be interesting to see the playoff rankings when they come out.

I still find it a great irony that in the last year of the PAC it just might be the best conference in the country.

  7. I think the Ducks cover or at least come close.

Buffs are not sneaking up on anyone now for one.

The last two weeks their competition has not been great and they have not exactly smoked teams they should have.

While they have some dynamic play makers, Oregon is a step up on a talent level that I'm not sure Colorado is ready for. That will lead to mistakes and they already made plenty against CSU.

If Oregon takes advantage of those mistakes it could get ugly, early.

I also don't think they have faced an offense with the combination of ability to pound you with the run and explosive passing game that Oregon has.

But honestly every offense they have played against so far has looked explosive, maybe a comment on the Colorado defense.

Absolutely! Maybe via litigation, the Pac-2 hangs in for the playoff through 2026 but after that? Sayonara.

What really stinks is that the 2 left behind draw more fans and are better programs than a number of B12 programs.

Yeah, if an alien arrived here and watched college football knowing nothing else but how the teams were playing, would they believe that the PAC is the conference that is in its last season?

It's not much of a stretch now to say the PAC is the best football conference in the country this year. How ironic.

  9. Bulletin board material, sure. Making a big difference in how the game plays out, no.

This statement was about the CO past. A lot of those players aren't around anymore. Lots of new guys, who are looking pretty good so far.

Sanders and these players realize that what Lanning said was true. I count (not very hard) one winning season since 2011.

This is a feast for the fans though! If Colorado were to pull off the upset? Oh my! Lanning, but even more so Duck fans, would never hear the end of it. Well at least not until next year when the two teams probably don't play each other for a while.

Thanks for the info on this game, gents.  I, unfortunately, subscribe to Spectrum.  They refused to pay Disney's asking price for their programming and Disney/ESPN shut down the feed...right at game time.  There is no word on when we may (or may not) see ESPN again on Spectrum.

Gads I hate cable.  The only reason I'm not on DirecTV was to get the Duck games.  Guess I'll have to find a decent streamer channel for sports or maybe go to Direct and fubo.

Ugh........... I hate this stuff.  Our cost increases for everything is getting out of hand.

Yeah, I missed a few things I wanted to see because of that, but on the good side, I'm watching the Ducks now on the PAC channel when it isn't part of my package. Shhh....

  11. Poor Duck, the mascot trainer (I guess) asked (at least reading her lips), "Are you okay?" And it's just the first half.

After the touch down drive by PSU early I was a little concerned with the defense, not that the Ducks would win, but that kind of defense is going to give up  a lot of points against most PAC teams. But they settled down. I know the competition is not great, but laying 50 on someone in a half is impressive anyway.

Now get a lot of play for those down on the depth chart, get them some experience.

Without wanting to sound sarcastic or negative, I can well imagine those colossal schools inhabiting the Big 10 are much more excited abut Oregon And Washington joining the League than the other way around.  Playing & competing with those huge programs on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis is far different than facing one of them in a single bowl game at the end of the season.

I retain huge reservations about this whole expansion thing and have to trust the brain-trust of Oregon that they know what they're doing.

yeah, I know you can't judge a conference by one half of football, but the first half of Minnesota and Nebraska is horrible. If this is B1G football, the B now stands for BORING.

I know this is not the top of the conference, but even the mediocre teams in the PAC are much more exciting to watch than this.
