  1. Yeah, I know it's hard to project out one year and this is three, but I could see none of these coaches being where they are now. I hope Lanning is still at Oregon and think that's a good possibility. Day, frankly I'm not that impressed with him and wouldn't include him in my top 5. OSU will not be satisfied if he doesn't have them at the top of the B1G and with at least one NC, I'm not sure he will get that done. Smart as 1, I get, but will he still be at UG? Norvell will be good at FSU, but will the weaker ACC get him the recruits and seeding in the play offs he needs? Sark doesn't have a track record of sticking around long term, maybe that changes at TX maybe not. I actually think Lanning is the best possibility of being where he is and being this successful of the 5 of these. But as I said, 5 years is a long time in college football right now.
  2. Yeah, seen a little film on this guy, he's not only fast, but also illusive and adjusts well to the ball in the air and out battles DBs for it. He's a good one. Wish he was here next year, but respect the faith commitment. Good luck on his mission, can't wait to see him in 2026.
  3. Lived in B-more too long to root for anyone but the Ravens. I'm sure Andy Reid will have some tricks up his sleeve, but so will Harbaugh, along with some of the best half time adjustments around.
  4. it was a perfect match for Oregon and Bo! Glad it happened for both. Best of luck to Bo in the NFL.
  5. Remember we're going to the B1G, look at how the Michigan DBs played against UW. They don't call much in the B1G. I wish they called more personally.
  6. I think the regular season best record comes down to the game between Oregon and OSU at Oregon. Though on paper and preseason the Useless Nuts schedule looks easier, I don't see a game on either's schedule they shouldn't win. Of course should win and winning can be two different things. The B1G will be an adventure for sure. Go Ducks!
  7. DeBoer may have jumped from a great situation to a difficult one. UW fans would be crazy in love with him for years, for one NC game appearance. Now he is in a place following a legit legend. He will have great resources, tradition and brand, but the expectations are not a NC game appearance every now and then. The expectations are winning NC games on a regular basis. If you don't... He may well be up to the challenge, he's a good coach. He proved that the last few years at UW. But if he stumbles out of the gate, he could have a difficult time.
  8. A little disappointed. As much of a rivalry as there has been between Oregon and UW in the past. With DeBoar at UW and Lanning at Oregon this was about to go to another level. The two long time rivals were about to be ongoing national title contenders.
  9. Okay, I have to admit this. I love the Ducks, but it is going to be hard to switch conference loyalties from the PAC to the B1G (or as I call it The Big Slow and Ugly Conference). I've seen the B1G as over rated in just about everything for decades now. Yes, in OSU and that team up north are usually good, but the rest of the conference is usually mediocre. Basketball, the whole conference is mediocre. I think the 4 teams coming in from the West Coast just may come in and be among the top 6 teams with OSU and Mic... can't say it. In basketball, it could be similar. All four West Coast teams should be in the top half of the B1G. The one advantage the B1G has had is money. They have not been innovative, usually with teams (in most sports) built more around power than speed and skill and often just tend to be as Coach Gains described the Veer offense in Remember the Titans, "Like Novocaine. it will lull you to sleep but effective." Hopefully the West Coast bunch will add a little excitement, and it won't be too bad.
  10. Pretty much my take. Taking nothing away from that team up north, the pups beat themselves. Open receivers were missed all game, passes were dropped and if it weren't for holding that team up north couldn't cover anyone at all. I was actually rooting for UW. Even if it's them, it would have been nice for the PAC to go out with a NC.
  11. Problem is the laser like passing game of Washington seldom made an appearance. If Penix played that way against Oregon we'd have beaten them worse than this, both times. He missed wide open throws all game with little pressure. That wasn't Michigan doing it.
  12. No I've lived in Ohio just long enough to never say that!
  13. This is ridiculous, Michigan has spooked the mutts twice as much as Oregon did, with half as much pressure. He was throwing dimes all over the place against us and now he can't hit the broad side of a barn.
  14. Chincy offensive holding call again UW, considering some of the holding Mich ahs gotten away with.
  15. they started the half dominating, but didn't finish the half dominating. Pups found a way to get off the field and get the ball to the offense. Michigan can't cover the Washington receivers. If Penix can get them the ball now, this is a contest. I think UW is going to win this.
  16. We got a ball game going now. UW getting some stops now and that ugly blue team up north can't cover the doggie receivers without penalties.
  17. there are some penalties you have to call. That hold was too obvious and it sprang the guy for a 15 yard gain.
  18. Come on doggies, if you need 5 yards run a five yard rout.
  19. Again observing from the heartland, B1G Country, Buckeye Nation. Lots of okay pass defense teams look really good against not so okay passing teams. The B1G was filled with not so okay passing teams this year. Name one top flight passing offense in the B1G... I'll wait... still waiting... OSU, good receiver and inconsistent QB, Penn St. potentially good QB (live arm) but never really put it together (see their play calling)... Wisconsin was play action, had to run first... MSU train wreck... and Minn. and Neb. ugly, just ugly. PAC defenses are not rated as high, well because 2/3 of the starting QBs in the PAC will be in the NFL soon. The worst passing offenses in the PAC were at least in the middle of the B1G, maybe higher. PAC offenses were also way more innovative. Bottom line is PAC was better all around than the B1G this year. It wasn't really that close either. Washington, with a few close calls, ran the table in the PAC, Michigan, with a few close calls, ran the table in the B1G. Advantage Dogs.
  20. Oregon with DG at QB will be as good an offense as there is in the B1G. Gabriel will take care of the passing game, contribute to the running game (don't get hurt please) and Oregon already has a good running game. I expect UW to take a little step back, they lose the best pure passer in college ball and maybe the best wide receiver. There is no one out there to come right in and replace those guys. We'll see what Riley comes up with at SC and Chip Kelley at UCLA, but chances are the two best offenses in the B1G will be West Coast teams. Defensively if Lanning keeps building this defense the way he is Oregon will be competitive with the top D's in the B1G too. With a top QB coming in, the Ducks have an excellent chance of playing for the conference championship. Just getting to that game will probably mean a playoff birth.
  21. Agreed, everyone is saying, UW hasn't faced a team like Michigan this year. Well turn that around, I live in B1G Slow and Ugly territory here and Michigan hasn't faced a team like UW either. OSU had one great receiver and a few good ones and an adequate QB. That was maybe the best passing offense in the B1G. Washington goes 3 great receivers, a really good tight end and, in my opinion anyway, the best passer in college football. Michigan hasn't come close to facing that this year. If Penix gets any time to throw at all (and he will at least some of the time) we'll see if Michigan's pass coverage is really that good. And remember this game is not like the semifinals, they only have one week to prepare. I think advantage pooches on that one. Michigan's advantage may be in their running game. If I was Washington, I'd load the box and try to make Michigan be a passing team. I think UW has the DBs to cover Michigan's receivers. Where they'll get caught in the passing game is if Michigan gets the run going and then goes play action. That's their game. I'm going out on a limb here, but Mongrels by 10-12.
