  1. Hi Happy. I am not sure if our conference presidents are wise enough to be forward thinking in the sports world. They are too full of themselves to be desperate IMHO. An article I read today but didn't post should make them think twice. It is the story of the collapse of the Big East in the Deseret News, click here to read. Jon Joseph, I think your plan is great! Send it to George Kliavkoff because his vision seems to be much smaller. I don't know that we have ever had commissioners/leaders who are/were truly visionaries, so this might give them thought for pondering.
  2. WBB recap: Second half woes too much to overcome in Seattle Everything was going so well for the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team. Te-Hina Paopao was hitting threes, they were playing good defense and doing the little things in order to win a game. Then halftime happened. It was a completely different story in the second half. Washington outscored the Ducks 41-28 after the break and went on to win 68-60. Oregon scored a grand total of six points in the third quarter and it didn’t get much better in the fourth. Although the Ducks’ NET ranking is in the 20s, they’re not playing even close to an NCAA tournament team. 5. Closing out games becomes top priority if Ducks hope to reach CFP in 2023 Quarterback Bo Nix is returning; all of the top skill-position guys are returning, and the defense is expected to be a lot better with some new transfers coming in. Despite a remade offensive line, projections are high for Oregon in 2023. However, there is one thing that they will need to improve upon if they want to close out and reach their ceiling this fall. They need to finish better. The Ducks (7-2) also got a big boost from the bottom of the lineup as the seven, eight and nine batters combined to hit .500 (9-for-18) on Saturday.
