Ducks aim to maintain positive outlook amidst losing streak It's been nearly three weeks since Oregon's women's basketball team won a game. This five-game win streak is the second longest during Kelly Graves' time in Eugene with a six-game skid in his debut season acting as the longest. Winning creates momentum, and the Ducks don't have much of the latter at the moment. "We've got to see a victory," Graves said during Wednesday's press event. "They've been tough to come by recently." Ducks aim to maintain positive outlook amidst losing streak 247SPORTS.COM Ducks aim to maintain positive outlook amidst losing streak

Pac 12 Media Deal Losing More Ground
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
PAC-12 REPORTEDLY SUFFERS MAJOR BLOW DURING CHAOTIC MEDIA NEGOTIATIONS There’s been seemingly a never-ending stream of reports about the conference struggling to garner up much interest for a new media rights contract. Now, it sounds like things are about to get much worse. Brett McMurphy reported Wednesday that CBS & Turner are no longer involved in negotiations. That’s significant because it had been previously reported CBS was in the mix to be one of the major networks the PAC-12 could get a deal done with. That is no longer the case. A stunning report from The Athletic indicated the PAC-12’s financial requests could be off by roughly $100 million annually. Commissioner George Kliavkoff reportedly wants annual payouts to be at least $40 million, but the ceiling might only be just north of $30 million. “Today, it’s uncertain whether the Pac-12 will even be able to exceed the $31.6 million average the Big 12 reportedly landed in a six-year extension with ESPN and Fox it reached last fall,” The Athletic reported. Oregon, USC set to do battle for numerous top 2024 prospects For the better part of the last 15 years, the Ducks and Trojans have dominated recruiting in the state of California, regularly going toe-to-toe over some of its top prospects. And with two elite recruiters leading both programs, that isn’t going to change — even when their conference affiliations do. In the 2023 cycle, Oregon got the best of their southern rivals, plucking four-stars Rodrick Pleasant and Matayo Uiagalelei from USC’s backyard at the end of the year. Will it be more of the same in 2024, or will Lincoln Riley and Co. lock down the borders and keep a very good class at home? As the battles heat up, let’s take a look at five recruitments to keep an eye on. ROAD TRIP CONTINUES AT WASHINGTON STATE The Ducks look to snap their season-long five-game skid and split the regular-season series with the Cougars Friday. UO fell 67-57 at No. 18 UCLA on Sunday, as seven of UO's 11 losses have come to a top-25 this season. Each of Oregon's last 10 games have been decided by 10 or fewer points. Oregon is 72-20 all-time against WSU, marking its most wins against a single opponent in program history. The Cougars claimed an 85-84 overtime win in the season's first meeting on Jan. 15 at Matthew Knight Arena to end the Ducks' eight-game winning streak in the series. Oregon heads into final stretch of season looking to keep its focus away from postseason discussion The Oregon men's basketball program kicks off the final stretch of the regular season with a road game at 10th place Washington in Seattle. The stretch run for Oregon comes with a razor-thin margin for error as Oregon still has a chance at making the NCAA Tournament via an at-large bid. "We try to worry about what we can control. It's been an up and down. We have no idea how the committee will look at our early season injuries or our late season and how we are playing," said head coach Dana Altman. "We just have to worry about what we can control and that's hopefully playing well Wednesday night." Washington 2025 ATH Jonathan Epperson starts with flurry of Pac-12 offers Auburn (Wash.) Riverside 2025 athlete Jonathan Epperson had a productive January. The two-way standout landed five offers in the month of January- from Oregon, USC, Washington State, Oregon State and Nevada. Originally from the Southeast, the offers are all from the West Coast and Epperson is thrilled with how things have gone. Oregon started his recruitment with running backs coach Carlos Locklyn extending the offer. "Coach Locklyn offered me as an athlete but more so as a linebacker," said Epperson. What the loss of WR Traeshon Holden means for the Oregon Ducks The competition in the WR room just got a lot more interesting when it comes to spring football for the Oregon Ducks. It was believed that Holden was going to be in line to start alongside Troy Franklin and Kris Hutson, but now there is a spot to fill on the starting lineup. As I mentioned, I believe that Oregon will go into the portal to fill that need. However, there’s a great chance that someone like Kyler Kasper, Justius Lowe, Ashton Cozart, or one of the numerous other young players can make a big enough leap to step into that roll. A lot of eyes will now be on the wide receiver group during spring ball to see if anyone states their case to jump into the starting lineup. It needs to be noted that Dan Lanning got this news of one of his players being arrested and moved quickly. In the past, we’ve seen coaches put out statements along the lines of “we are aware of the situation and will look into it,” but that wasn’t the case here. Immediately, Lanning offered a statement saying that Holden was dismissed from the team after not upholding the standards set by the team. Oregon Football: Where the Ducks go after losing WR Traeshon Holden DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Traeshon Holden is leaving the Ducks before taking a single snap. Here’s a look at where Oregon goes after his dismissal.

Ducks control their destiny ahead of Washington road trip No team is as squarely on the bubble as Dana Altman’s Ducks, who are currently listed as the first team out on Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology report. Fortunately for Oregon, the path forward is a relatively easy one. Oregon closes with five sub-.500 teams in Pac-12 Conference play, giving this team a golden opportunity to take care of business and push their way into the Field of 68. If they do, they would slightly salvage what has been a disastrous hoops season for the conference of champions. Arizona and UCLA are both on the two line, but no one else from the Pac-12 is currently on the bracket. GoDucks Series: Season in Review by Position

SEASON IN REVIEW: ST CAMDEN LEWIS PROVIDED CONSISTENCY AS THE PLACEKICKER IN 2022, WHILE THE PUNTING POSITION WAS MORE UP AND DOWN. The renaissance of placekicker Camden Lewis continued in 2022. He was 14-of-16 on field-goal attempts, including 10-of-10 inside 40 yards. The Ducks were perfect on 64 extra-point attempts in 2022, the last of which Lewis banged off the upright and through for the game-winning point in Oregon's Holiday Bowl win over North Carolina. That play also was the last in the career of long snapper Karsten Battles, a remarkably consistent and reliable presence on special teams whose excellence resulted in a lack of notoriety, given how the spotlight usually only shines on a long snapper in moments of struggle. Punting was less consistent, as the Ducks spent most of the 2022 season seeking reliable execution at the position.
