Nautique Duck, you are absolutely correct. When I read this post, I thought it odd that it was coming from an Auburn site. I hadn't seen anything regarding this on Oregon sites, in fact more the opposite. Lanning was indeed talking about DJ Johnson during his press conference a couple of days ago. Please refer to the transcript below. You will find this exact quote in the first question after his opening statement. That is pretty reckless/stupid of this Auburn writer. Oregon's hiring of Will Stein emphasizes an incoming Duck invasion of Texas Hiring an offensive coordinator that not only comes from a Texas FBS program, but one that has deep ties to the Central Texas area and around the state, helps further Oregon's clear early agenda to attack the Lone Star State in the class of 2024 and beyond. The recipe has come together perfectly early on for Dan Lanning in his approach to recruiting Texas: buzz has been generated, visitors are coming to campus, top schools list feature Oregon at the top or very close to it. Now, execution comes into play. Hiring a recruiter and a personality like Stein will only help further the final step to that plan. I read somewhere that Slovis is transferring a second time. Because he is doing it as a graduate transfer, he would not have to sit out a year.

Oregon and North Carolina Could Make for a Record-Breaking Holiday Bowl The highest-scoring Holiday Bowl ever happened in 1980 when BYU edged SMU 46-45 in one of the greatest college football games ever played. Jim McMahon led three touchdown drives in 4 minutes to help the Cougars earn their first bowl win in program history. The highest single-game output came a decade later when Texas A&M dropped 65 on the Cougars. Amazingly, both of those records could fall this year. Oregon averages 40 points a game and North Carolina puts up 35. They’re led by two of the nation’s most exciting and prolific quarterbacks: Oregon senior Bo Nix and UNC freshman Drake Maye.
