Ranking Oregon's top 10 players in win vs. Hawaii according to PFF grades Week 4 has finally rolled around, and we are all eager to look ahead to the upcoming marquee matchup against Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Before we do that, though, there are still some things that we can learn from the Oregon Ducks’ week 3 win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. It was a lopsided affair in which the Ducks were able to get some of they young players onto the field for some valuable game experience. What we want to do is look back at the stats and grades from Pro Football Focus to highlight the players who had the biggest days. In a pleasing sight to all Oregon fans, there were a pair of QBs near the top of the list, and a true freshman defender who was graded higher than the rest. Here are the top-rated players according to PFF grades in Week 3 for the Ducks (minimum 10 snaps). Oregon Football: Ducks’ top 10 graded players in win vs. Hawaii DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon’s PFF grades from Week 3 feature two quarterbacks and a true freshman at the top of the list.

Deion Sanders addresses Henry Blackburn's hit on Travis Hunter There was a lot of chatter leading up to Colorado taking on Colorado State in Week 3, but Deion Sanders is attempting to take the high road after the Buffaloes' overtime win. Sanders made it a point to address the ongoing discussion regarding Colorado State defensive back Henry Blackburn's hit on Colorado star Travis Hunter. Coach Prime encouraged fans to move on from calling out Blackburn for what appeared to be a cheap shot on Hunter. "Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game," Sanders told reporters on Sept. 19. "This is a still young man trying to make it in life. He does not deserve a death threat over a game. I forgive him. Our team forgives him. Travis Hunter has forgiven him. Let's move on. That kid does not deserve that." See article for more details... Deion Sanders: 'I respect the heck' out of Dan Lanning and the Ducks Taking the high road has never been Deion Sanders’ strong suit. He tells you like it is and what is exactly on his mind. He was like that as a player and he’s like that as a football coach. In his weekly press conference, Sanders was asked about Dan Lanning’s preseason comments about Colorado not winning anything since joining the Pac-12. Instead of saying it will be bulletin board material for his team, he chose to praise the Ducks and Lanning. Coach Prime has a ton of respect for Oregon and Dan Lanning DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders had nothing but praise for Oregon in his weekly press conference.

College football’s 10 most efficient teams per play, ranked Entering Week 4 of college football, 10 teams ranked as the most efficient per play have a shot at ending the SEC's national champion reign. Ironically, the SEC doesn't have a single team slotted inside the first dozen of the national efficiency, a bit of a surprise considering the league began the season with three top-five teams. ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) breaks down teams in detail using net efficiency ratings in three different categories — offense, defense and special teams — to formulate an overall ranking. This includes the nation's 10 most efficient teams per play through three weeks with a look at how each squad has fared in every phase of the game. The FPI is "measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 20,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily." Here are the nation's most efficient teams per play after three weeks... Travis Hunter update: Colorado star speaks out on Colorado State DB Henry Blackburn's late hit Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter sustained an injury during the Buffaloes’ 43-35 double-overtime win against rival Colorado State last Saturday, and the defensive back and wide receiver is set to miss three weeks of action, head coach Deion Sanders told 247Sports’ Carl Reed. Hunter, who was transported to a local hospital midway through the game, returned to his home Sunday and spoke about the injury. “It’s football at the end of the day,” Hunter said on a live stream. “Stuff like that is going to happen, so I just stay humble. He (Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn) did what he was supposed to do. It’s football. Something bad is going to happen on the field sooner or later. You’ve just gotta get up and fight again. That’s what I try to do, get up and fight. Good thing the doctors stopped me, because if there was no doctors there, I would have still been out there playing. But I’m thankful for everybody that helped me.” I am impressed with the mature comments from Hunter. Read article for more details... Where Oregon's offense ranks nationally in key stats following win vs. Hawaii We now have a decent sample size for the Oregon Ducks in terms of statistics to look at. Though the level of competition for Dan Lanning and his quad has not been elite thus far, we’ve seen enough action to know that the Ducks are a solid team who have a high ceiling that they can reach for this season. Now we are heading into Pac-12 play, where the level of competition will rise quickly, and the Ducks are going to have to rely on their bread and butter to get the job done. With three games to work from, let’s take a look at where Oregon ranks nationally in some key statistics offensively so far this season. By doing so, we can get a sense of where they stand going into the conference schedule. The depth of Oregon's skill talent on full display against Hawaii It didn't seem to matter who Bo Nix handed the ball to or who caught his pass attempts, big plays were had by just about everyone who touched the ball in Saturday's 55-10 beatdown of Hawaii. Running backs Bucky Irving, Noah Whittington and Jordan James combined for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries, while 10 different players caught passes led by the quartet of Troy Franklin, Tez Johnson, Gary Bryant Jr. and Traeshon Holden. Those four were credited with four receptions each for at least 63 yards. Johnson and Holden made two end zone trips apiece. "When their number is called, they go out there and make a play. They feed off each other," Nix said of the team's receivers. "I feel like each week somebody else is doing something special. I expect that to continue to go on because we have so many playmakers. We have so many weapons. It's kind of hard to get the ball to all of them. That's a good problem to have." Report: Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter out for three weeks This was not how Colorado wanted to begin the week with a date with No. 11 Oregon coming up in six days. Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders says his two-way star Travis Hunter would miss three weeks with a rib injury he suffered in the 43-35 double overtime win over Colorado State. I saw in another posting that it was possible he had a lacerated liver. Maybe he has both!
