  2. Four-star QB Michael Van Buren sets announcement date He told 247Sports he was not ready to reveal the list of schools he will choose from because he is still in the process of making visits and speaking with programs. However, Maryland, Oregon, Penn State and Oklahoma are each in the race because he either made spring visits there, or has visits set to those schools. He will be at Oregon next weekend to get another look at the Ducks. 3. Ducks among finalists to land UGA transfer Kario Oquendo The transfer portal continues to be a busy place for Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks. After seeing Kel’el Ware and Lök Wur announce that they would be leaving the team earlier this offseason, the Ducks are now in a position where they might land a talented player and bring him to Eugene. Former Georgia Bulldogs Kario Oquendo has been a notable name in the portal, and he announced this week that going forward, he is going to focus on just a few schools who are recruiting him, mentioning the Ducks as one of them. Oregon Basketball: Ducks among top schools for Georgia transfer DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Ducks are in the running to land former Georgia Bulldog Kario Oquendo.
  4. War Daddy Recruit: Speed demon Gatlin Bair is a 'homegrown Idaho unicorn' coveted far and wide RARE Academy founder and coach with 208 Platinum Premier 7v7, Juss Jackson, first talked about Bair when he was a freshman, saying to keep an eye on the speedster. A year later, Bair was shining on the 7v7 circuit for Jackson and Williams-Rhodes and then earned WR MVP honors at the Gem State Showcase last summer in front of a slew of coaches. "Gatlin has the length you want, the speed, hands and the football IQ and sense for the game that you don’t normally find in Idaho," Jackson said. WHY GATLIN BAIR IS A NAME TO KNOW IN 2024 Speed kills. And Bair has plenty of it. The highest-rated prospect to ever come from the state of Idaho, out of tiny Burley (population: 12,000), Bair has big-city speed that has him among the most coveted recruits the Gem State has ever seen. Last weekend, at the Texas Relays, he ran a blazing 10.18 in the 100m, a personal best. Earlier this spring, he beat California's defending 100m and 200m champion, Rodrick Pleasant, an Oregon signee, in an indoor 60m race. But it's not just on the track where he shines- its on the football field too. As a junior, he caught 73 passes for 1,073 yards and had an impressive 18 touchdown receptions. He also averaged 70 yards a pass- he threw one pass all year, for a 70-yard touchdown and a perfect 1.000% completion percentage. Defensively, he added an interception and then averaged 35.6 yards a kickoff return. How big of a recruit is he in a national context? Bair is a four-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, and is ranked highest in the industry at 247Sports, which puts him as the No. 40 overall player in the country, the highest a player from Idaho has been rated, the No. 9 receiver nationally in a loaded group of pass-catchers and the No. 1 prospect in Idaho in 2024. He has already been selected to play in the 2024 All-American Bowl in San Antonio. So yeah, Bair is big-time. OREGON DUCKS With Bair's track exploits, naturally Oregon is making a push for him. While he's an elite sprinter, track isn't the priority for him like other elite track athletes, but a year after signing Rodrick Pleasant, who is the fastest football player in California, Oregon wouldn't mind making it consecutive classes with an elite sprinter. Receivers coach Junior Adams coached Williams-Rhodes at Boise State and he has plenty of knowledge of the state of Idaho from his time with the Broncos. Adams has been running point on Bair's recruitment and in 2023 signed Bair's 7v7 teammate and fellow Idaho standout Kenyon Sadiq, a top 100 prospect nationally and the No. 1 prospect in Idaho in 2023. He wouldn't mind back-to-back No. 1 players from Idaho either. War Daddy Recruit: Speed demon Gatlin Bair is a 'homegrown Idaho unicorn' coveted far and wide 247SPORTS.COM The Northwest's No. 1 rated prospect Gatlin Bair has one of the most unique recruitments in the current cycle and is choosing between a who's who of elite programs.

  7. The timeline for the Pac-12's upcoming television deal is coming into focus, and sources told ESPN on Thursday that no deal is expected for a few more months. The Pac-12 remains engaged with multiple media partners, per sources. Those include streaming services, which have developed a reputation for deliberate contract negotiations, in part because they don't have the same decades of experience in the space as traditional networks. The timeline of their deal, as currently expected, appears to be in line with how the Big Ten's timeline unfolded. The Big Ten's deal was announced in August, nearly a year from when the new one would come into fruition. Sources - Pac-12 TV deal expected later this spring or summer WWW.ESPN.COM A timeline for the Pac-12's upcoming television deal is coming into focus and is expected sometime later this spring or summer, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

  10. Spring Ball Takeaways: Ducks look for fast play in fourth spring practice On Tuesday afternoon following the Oregon Ducks’ first spring practice after the two-week break, head coach Dan Lanning was asked about what he wanted to see from his players going into Thursday’s practice, and then again into Saturday’s practice. Consistent growth was the answer. 11. '25 DB Daryus Dixson mentioned Oregon, Tennessee, Washington and USC as schools he's connecting with Dixson said the schools he feels he’s connecting the best with right now are Oregon, Tennessee, Washington and USC. He talked about what stands out with each program: Oregon- “Oregon is showing a lot of love right now and probably recruiting me the hardest. I visited last year and really liked it there. I liked the campus and loved the facilities. I like coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) a lot and I’m also connecting with coach Wadood as well. I know some of the players on the team already and I just really like the overall vibe there.’ '25 DB Daryus Dixson mentioned Oregon, Tennessee, Washington and USC as schools he's connecting with 247SPORTS.COM Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei sophomore defensive back Daryus Dixson had a strong showing at last weekend’s Under Armour Next Camp, walking away with DB MVP honors.
  12. I agree with your comments. Williams is a credible source, worth warranted in reading his thoughts on this matter. My hope, he is proven wrong.
  13. A few things I've learned. The newest voting member of the Pac-12 Conference CEO Group was tossed into the fray just a couple of weeks ago. I doubt she’ll unpack. Jamie Moffitt was appointed “interim president” at the University of Oregon on March 13. She replaced UO’s previous interim president, Patrick Phillips, who left that post after he didn’t get the permanent job. John Karl Scholz will take over July 1 as the full-time president in Eugene. At that point, per a UO source, Moffitt will return to her usual duty as the school’s vice president and chief financial officer. Got all that? The Pac-12 Conference continues to negotiate its media rights deal and explore expansion. I was told on Wednesday by a CEO Group member that “the board likes the deal” that is taking shape, but the conference presidents and chancellors don’t seem to be in a hurry. Multiple members of the CEO Group have gone public in recent months. Oregon has been notably silent. I’ve chalked that up to the turnover in administration in Eugene. Former president Michael Schill left for the same job at Northwestern University last August. Schill was an outspoken, experienced, stabilizing voice who served on the group’s executive committee. Phillips was new to the role. Moffitt is even newer. How will Oregon weigh its options? What matters most to the Ducks? Does Phil Knight get a vote? The university trustees? Someone else? These are important questions. Canzano: Timing is everything for Pac-12 and Oregon Ducks WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM A few things I've learned. There is a John Canzano and Jon Wilner podcast at the bottom of his article. Topics on Pac-12 expansion, SDSU effect and spring football.
  14. Oregon Preparing to Host a Loaded Group of Visitors for Annual Spring Game Some of the biggest names in the country are flocking to Eugene to check out the Ducks. Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks aren't messing around on the recruiting trail this spring. They've already hosted some big names on campus this spring but you should only expect the names to get bigger as we get closer to the annual spring game, which is set for Saturday April 29 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The Ducks have the No. 15 class in the country for 2024, featuring five verbal commitments. Here's an updated list of recruits that are expected to be in attendance. I will continue to update this list as more recruits announce their visit plans and I confirm with sources. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/oregon-preparing-to-host-a-loaded-group-of-visitors-for-annual-spring-game

  16. Spring Ball Takeaways: Ducks get back to work in wet Eugene weather The Oregon Ducks returned to spring football practice after a two-week break on Tuesday morning in a wet and cold Eugene rain at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex. While the weather was drear, the energy was high for a team that got a taste of football once again back in March and has had a couple of weeks to get ready to attack success once again. With a few new faces on the roster after the break — notably including Ole Miss safety transfer Tysheem Johnson — we got a good look at what this team will take into the spring game at the end of April as far as a roster standpoint. As always, media members were allowed to watch in for the first 15-20 minutes of practice, which included stretching, special teams, and some individual work. Here are some of the biggest takeaways as we got back into it. Oregon Football: Ducks get back to practice after spring break DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Six new players joined the Ducks on Tuesday, and we got to see some pads popping as Oregon resumed spring ball.
  17. Several new Ducks join Oregon roster for remainder of spring season Back in March, we got a good look at which new players, be it transfers or incoming freshmen, would be joining the Oregon Ducks for the spring football season and working with the team leading up to the spring game. We got ideas on positions and found out what numbers everyone would be wearing. It wasn’t the entire 2023 new-player crop, but over half of the new additions were on the ground in Eugene. After a two-week break for finals and spring break, the Ducks now have more new players with them as they resume practices on Tuesday, growing the roster even more. This won’t be the last time the roster changes, either, though we may be able to feel comfortable with this group of guys until after the spring game. Once May comes around, the transfer portal will open back up, and there are a handful of guys that will surely come and go during that period. For now, though, here are the newest Ducks to land in Eugene and join the team: Oregon Football: New Ducks join roster for remainder of spring season DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM There are a handful of new faces on the Ducks’ roster that joined the team over spring break.

  19. Analyzing Oregon’s Chances With USC Transfer Gary Bryant Jr. The Ducks are battling to add a top wide receiver from the transfer portal. The Oregon Ducks are no strangers to the transfer portal. Whether it's players joining the Ducks or leaving the program, head coach Dan Lanning is well aware of the role the portal plays in overhauling or retooling your roster. Oregon hasn't been as active as other schools in leveraging the portal, but the Ducks have signed 10 players this offseason, including a pair of wide receivers in Traeshon Holden (Alabama) and Tez Johnson (Troy). Might they add another? https://www.heraldonline.com/sports/college/article273755730.html#storylink=rss
  20. Gorney's predictions: Where will the top 10 uncommitted RBs land? Oregon favored for Washington's top prospect. Every time the Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea four-star running back is in Los Angeles, he makes his way over to USC and has an excellent trip. So the Trojans are definitely a major contender in his recruitment. But Oregon still feels like the team to beat since he’s so comfortable there, has a great relationship with the staff and is very familiar with the place. Considering Washington’s success this past season and Jason Brown knowing a bunch of players there as well, the Huskies should be considered high in this race as well. Prediction: Oregon Gorney's predictions: Where will the top 10 uncommitted RBs land? OREGON.RIVALS.COM Four-star Quinton Martin is the highest-ranked uncommitted running back in the 2024 class.
  21. Jordan Anderson Named 247Sports Alpha Dog at OT7 One of Oregon's top commits has been putting everyone on notice this offseason. Wide receiver Jordan Anderson is one of the top offensive playmakers in the country. He's always carried himself with a confidence that he can beat any defensive back that's lined up in front of him. The 2024 Oregon Ducks wide receiver pledge out of Newport Beach (Calif.) 23. John Canzano is echoing the same as Jon Wilner (posted on the forum). Pac-12 should not wait. It would be out of character and off brand for the Pac-12 to seize on the momentum of the Aztecs NCAA Tournament run and extend an immediate invitation to join the conference this week. The Pac-12 presidents and chancellors are mindful of optics. They respect tradition and observe etiquette. The old-guard leadership wouldn’t be caught dead trying to draft off San Diego State’s basketball success. That said, they should totally do it. This is no time for the “new” Pac-12 to act like the “old” Pac-12. The conference shouldn’t wait another week (or month). It should just invite San Diego State now and end the charade. The Aztecs are a no-brainer for the Pac-12. San Diego State has the academics, culture and Pacific Time Zone geography. It would also add 1.1 million television households in a region where the Pac-12 badly needs it. Canzano: Bring on the invite for San Diego State WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Pac-12 should not wait.
