  1. Hayes: Sources convinced Big Ten isn't finished raiding the Pac-12 So we’re going to continue with this charade, this exercise in futility, despite the inevitable. The Pac-12 may soon sign a new, undervalued media rights deal. The Pac-12 may soon believe it has saved itself for the time being. But ladies and gentlemen, the Pac-12 isn’t long for the new college sports landscape. “If anyone thinks the Big Ten isn’t coming back for more, they’re not following along,” an industry source told Saturday Out West this week. The official end of the wildly underrated Pac-12 arrives when the Big Ten finds a media rights partner — network or cable television, and/or a streaming service — to foot the bill for the conference to add more schools from the Pac-12. Because the Big Ten isn’t leaving USC and UCLA alone on the West coast. It must protect its investment. Hayes: Sources convinced Big Ten isn’t finished raiding the Pac-12 SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM 'If anyone thinks the Big Ten isn't coming back for more, they're not following along,' a source told our Matt Hayes. Bottom line: The Pac-12 is in trouble as a Power 5 league.
  2. Oregon Set to Host Texas OT Blake Frazier Frazier is a top offensive linemen nationally and was offered by the Ducks in January. We're in the last week of the February dead period, which means that visits will ramp up again in the near future. Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have laid a strong foundation and are ready to capitalize in 2024. https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/college/article272583776.html#storylink=rss

  4. Bronny James and Oregon commit Kwame Evans projected lottery picks in 2024 NBA mock draft. Bronny James isn’t the only name that Oregon Duck fans should be focused on, though. While James is yet to make his commitment and is still said to be heavily considering the Ducks, there is an Oregon commit who is in the mix for a top pick in 2024. 5-star PF Kwame Evans is even higher on the board than James is. According to ESPN’s latest 2024 mock, Evans is projected to go to the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 9 overall pick, with James is projected to go to the Orlando Magic with the No. 10 overall pick. Could that be a pair of Ducks in the top 10 of the draft? Time will tell. NBA Draft: Bronny James, Kwame Evans lottery picks in 2024 NBA mock DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Both Bronny James and Oregon’s Kwame Evans are projected top-10 picks in the 2024 NBA Draft. 5. Every QB that the Ducks have offered in 2024 recruiting class We are currently in a recruiting dead period, where in-person contact between recruits and coaches is not permitted. However, starting on March 1, we enter a quiet period, where visits can take place once again. 6. Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen offensive lineman Fox Crader hasn't backed away from his commitment to Oregon. Not in the least. But, he did acknowledge he was surprised at the departure of offensive line coach Adrian Klemm to the NFL. "I'm not going to lie, that one hurt," said Crader. "He had told me he was going to let me know, he made 3-5 visits to my school to keep me in the loop and I actually thought he wasn’t going. He never said he wasn't and in my head it kind of sounded like he was really serious about it but but obviously I was hoping he was going to stay. So that one hurt a little bit." Crader has talked with head coach Dan Lanning numerous times since the departure of Klemm and he's looking forward to meeting new offensive line coach A'Lique Terry. 8. Canzano: While we wait for white smoke to rise from the chimney at Pac-12 Conference headquarters signaling the approval of a new media-rights deal, it’s worth a discussion about the campus leaders who will light the match. The Pac-12 presidents and chancellors got some key things wrong in the last decade plus. That required a unique blend of ignorance, apathy and arrogance. But as Henry David Thoreau once wrote: “The best way to correct a mistake is to make it right.” Canzano: Time for big bosses in Pac-12 to lead WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Presidents and chancellors must get it right.

  13. If you get past all that is being said, even Dennis Dodd is saying most likely ESPN/Amazon will be who the Pac'12 will sign a media deal with. This is also what Canzano is saying. CBS/Turner were never ever serious contenders. Sad to understand though why the Pac12's ineptness to make crucial decisions at the most opportunistic time is beyond reasoning. But it is what it is at this point. Hopefully soon will know what that media deal will wind up being. No matter what happens with the Pac-12, I am trusting Oregon along with Phil Knight will make the best decision for Oregon moving forward. Will the Pac-12 break up? 14. The Pac-12 Conference has gone stealth in the last few days. My spider senses are tingling. There’s a lot of outside noise, but the conference has tightened the inner circle. • It could be that the conference wants Monday’s joint statement of unity to do the talking. The Pac-12 was annoyed at some erroneous reports and misinformation that was clouding the space. • A consultant who works closely behind the scenes with schools and conferences all over the country told me this week that “only about 50 percent” of what we see reported is accurate. Regardless of whether it’s the SEC, Big Ten, Pac-12, ACC or Big 12… “that 50 percent figure holds up across the board,” per the source. It’s why you have to be careful with what you read and why I’m committed to giving you sourced, in-depth reporting and commentary that you can’t get anywhere else here. Canzano stated that neither CBS or Turner networks were ever seriously involved. He expect's ESPN/Amazon to end up with Pac-12's media rights. 16. "The Pac-12 Conference issued a written statement from its 10 remaining presidents and chancellors on Monday. It read:" "The statement amounts to a curious public-relations punch from the 10 conference stakeholders, designed to combat some criticism and uncertainty unearthed last week by a variety of media outlets." "One Pac-12 source said: “Some of the media narrative on that is not accurate.” Canzano: Pac-12 punches back with statement on unity WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Conference says it's "highly confident" in future growth.

  18. From what I found on SMU's endowment. This site states their endowment is 2.1 billion dollars. They are ranked number 72 amongst universities nationally in education. Dallas/Ft. Worth market is very good. Agree with Charles about Utah. Will SMU joining the Pac12 become an upside for the University and the conference as a whole down the road? 24. Losers of three straight, the Ducks (14-9, 5-7) can't take many more losses. With six Pac-12 games remaining, Graves believes the team would need to win three or four of them to ensure an at-large berth in next month's NCAA Tournament. Graves conveyed that standing to the team prior to practices this week. The Ducks have dug themselves a hole, but can still dig themselves out, he believes.
