  1. The big items of the day for Oregon are twofold. First, can the Oregon Ducks pull off the late push and secure the commitment and signing of Nyckoles Harbor, a 5-star athlete who is hoping to compete at tight end on the football field and also in track. The Ducks are also viewed as one of the favorites to land 4-star cornerback Rodrick Pleasant out of California. Pleasant is also a track star and is looking to parlay football and track together at his college choice. Then there is 5-star tight end Duce Robinson, who has been leaning to Georgia but the Ducks continue to try and land him as well. 3. Latest from 247 Sports. With about 23 hours left before five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor is scheduled to announce his commitment, I wrote on the South Carolina site that unless something changes I think the Washington (DC) Archbishop Carroll standout would be a Gamecock. I also said later in the day on the 247Sports Recruiting Show that the Harbor camp continued to communicate with the other finalists, particularly Maryland and Oregon. After making another round of calls I think the momentum is with the Ducks as this thing approaches the finish line. He announces at 1 p.m. (ET). so if true they need to hold on for 11 hours. I know I've been all over the place on this one but I think that resembles the tide turns of this recruitment. 247Sports heard back early Wednesday morning from Azuka Harbor, Nyckoles’s dad about the official visit they took to Eugene over the weekend. “Nyck had a wonderful visit,” the elder Harbor said. ”The highlight is, touring the Nike village/town, having lunch with the President of Oregon Ducks, and meeting lots of good and kind people.” I think I lean Oregon for Top247 cornerback Rodrick Pleasant as well. USC is the other finalist and I know the buzz coming out the Polynesian Bowl favored the Trojans. Perhaps he still ends up playing for Lincoln Riley. If the Ducks do land Harbor and Pleasant they rise from No. 10 to No. 7 in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings. 7. On Thursday afternoon, an interesting name popped up in the transfer portal when it was reported that Georgia Bulldogs’ former 5-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary was looking to leave Athens and find a new school to play for. Another intriguing name popped up in the portal on Friday morning, with Georgia edge defender MJ Sherman announcing that he would enter the portal as well. Both of these players are worth noting for Oregon Duck fans for a couple of reasons; they both fill positions of need for the Ducks, and they both have close ties to Oregon coach Dan Lanning. 14. Canzano: A look behind the curtain. Kevin Warren raided the Pac-12 and blew up 100 years of tradition while fortifying the Big Ten Conference. Good for him, I guess, but the commissioner must have figured there was nothing left for him to do in the college ranks. He’s going back to the pros where he was named President and CEO of the Chicago Bears on Thursday. To Warren, I say: “So long.” To the NFL, I say: “No handshake deals.” Canzano: Don't forget the 'fixer' who fixed Kevin Warren's act WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM A look behind the curtain.
