As has been the case across the rest of the college football world, we continue to check back in on a few key rankings and opinions this spring now that everyone has wrapped up their offseason football programs and played their annual spring games or scrimmages. We looked at the updated top-25 rankings, the win total odds for each team in the Pac-12, and in the nation at large. Now we want to check back in on the Heisman Trophy odds and see if anything has changed in the recent months since seeing how each team has retooled in the offseason. 3. Oregon Offers Eighth Grade CB Josiah Molden, Son of Duck Legend Alex Molden The Ducks want to make sure the son of an all-time Oregon great stays home. It's never too early for recruiting right? It's a growing trend that we're seeing more and more of in college football recruiting. Schools across the country extending scholarship offers to top up-and-comers before they even start playing their high school ball. On Wednesday, Oregon extended an offer to 2027 West Linn (Ore.) cornerback Josiah Molden, who's currently in eighth grade. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/oregon-offers-2027-db-josiah-molden-son-of-duck-legend-alex-molden
  4. Oregon Offers 8th Grade WR Braylon Kasper, Brother of Ducks WR Kyler Kasper Oregon extended another scholarship offer on Tuesday, but it wasn't to a 2024 or even 2025 recruit. It was to eighth grader Braylon Kasper out of Gilbert, Arizona. He's the younger brother of Ducks redshirt freshman wide receiver Kyler Kasper. "After a great conversation with Junior Adams I am grateful to have received my first offer from the University of Oregon," the younger Kasper wrote on social media. Braylon Kasper plans plans on playing his high school football at Williams Field High School, the same school his older brother played at en route to earning 27 scholarship offers. Kasper is the second eighth grader Oregon has offered of late. Kasper currently plays his 7on7 football with "The Squad", who dominated 14u competition out in the Grand Canyon State and the Western region. The Ducks also offered 2027 West Linn (Ore.) defensive back Josiah Molden last week, who's the son of legendary Oregon cornerback Alex Molden. 404 | Rock Hill Herald
  5. Oregon offers 5-star in the 2025 class The Ducks have offered a prospect in the 2025 class and he's a five-star Oregon's football staff has offered a scholarship to one of the best offensive linemen prospects in the 2025 class. Oregon's assistant offensive line coach Cutter Leftwhich extended an offer to the 5-star prospect on Tuesday, May 9th. Solomon Thomas is a 6-foot-3, 278-pound prospect out of the state of Florida and Raines high school located in Jacksonville. He's currently ranked as the No. 16 player in the country by the 247Sports Composite Rankings, an average of all the recruiting rankings. 247Sports independently ranks Thomas as a four-star prospect and the No. 35 overall player in the country. 247Sports ranks Thomas as the No. 3 offensive lineman in the country for the 2025 class. Schools to have previously offered Thomas include Florida, Florida State, Miami, Nebraska, and South Carolina. Oregon could be looking to sign upward to six offensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting class due to players going pro or graduating following the 2023 and 2024 football seasons, but a set number won't be locked in for awhile now. Oregon will know a better number closer to this time next year. Earlier this month, the Ducks extended a scholarship offer to the No. 1 rated offensive tackle prospect in the 2025 class in David Sanders, out of North Carolina. Currently, the Oregon Ducks hold one commitment in the 2025 recruiting class, and that is from 4-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson out of Tampa Bay Tech in Florida. Oregon currently holds two verbal commitments from two offensive tackles in the 2024 class: 4-star Fox Crader and 3-star Trent Ferguson. Oregon offers 5-star in the 2025 class 247SPORTS.COM The Ducks have offered a prospect in the 2025 class and he's a five-star.

  7. Tuesdays with Gorney: Buying and selling recruiting rumors In today’s Tuesdays with Gorney, Rivals national recruiting director Adam Gorney plays Buy It or Don’t Buy It when it comes to 10 recruiting rumors he’s hearing: RUMOR: Oregon will beat Penn State and others for QB Michael Van Buren. BUY IT. The Ducks just landed a quarterback commitment from Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope’s Luke Moga in late April but Oregon is probably not done in that department. There is always the transfer portal route but it’s more likely that the Ducks have turned a corner with the four-star quarterback from Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances. It seems like things are trending in that direction and that Oregon looks like the leader right now for Van Buren as Moga is also fine with it because he was told the planning for QB recruiting as well. Tuesdays with Gorney: Buying and selling recruiting rumors OREGON.RIVALS.COM Five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith committed to Ohio State in December.
  8. Prediction: Oregon to Land All-American Quarterback Oregon is surging up the national recruiting rankings following the recent commitment of Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy cornerback Ify Obidegwuon Sunday. Now, their attention turns to a number of big names including USC wide receiver transfer Gary Bryant Jr., who is set to announce his decision on Saturday. Today, I'm ready to roll out another prediction. I'm predicting that Oregon will land 2024 Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy quarterback Michael Van Buren. EXPLAINING THE PICK First off, Van Buren, or MVB as he's come to be known in the Oregon Football community, has clear interest in the Ducks. He has them in his top three along with Maryland and Penn State. Furthermore, he took two trips out to Eugene in the month of April, which would also indicate clear interest. However, maybe you could dial back what you take away from that second trip just a hair because he did compete in the Elite 11 Eugene regional. That's not to say he didn't want to take another trip, but that probably played a role in his prompt return out West. Furthermore, he's spoke very highly of his relationship with offensive coordinator Will Stein, who's generated a lot of buzz in just the short amount of time he's been on staff with the Ducks, securing commitments from quarterbacks Austin Novosad ('23) and Luke Moga ('24). The Ducks also landed a commitment from Van Buren's teammate Ify Obidegwu, which gives them a peer recruiter that can stay in his ear about Oregon in a more casual sense versus a coach's approach. He's not on the same side of the ball, but it's still an opportunity to play college ball with a friend, which offers familiarity and a sense of comfort, which is especially important given the distance. The Ducks are already building a special class that's ranked inside the top ten nationally, and both MVB and the coaches know a commitment from him could shoot this class to the next level and attract more high-level recruits. Penn State, the team that had previously been viewed as his leader, offered a 2024 quarterback in Trever Jackson out of Winter Garden, Florida late last month, which could indicate that they're pivoting their approach, or at the very least preparing for a situation in which they lose out on Van Buren. Lastly, some of the sources I've talked to are indicating that a commitment date of July 8 that the Under Armour-American had previously set could very well be flexible, so if you take into account all of his recent activity on the trail, Oregon continues to trend as the team to beat. https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/college/article275229906.html#storylink=rss

  15. Dan Lanning has been the head coach of the Oregon Ducks for only 17 months. Since taking over for Mario Cristobal in December of 2021, a lot has transpired. There have been roster shake-ups, numerous coaching changes, big-time wins, frustrating losses, and all-in-all, a successful start to the new era of Oregon football. One thing that hasn’t changed under Lanning is recruiting success in Eugene. While Willie Taggart got the ball rolling in 2017 and turned a lot of Oregon eyes toward the world of recruiting in his one year at the helm, Cristobal really took things to the next level and recruited better than anyone ever had in Eugene. Oregon Football: A look at the DB recruiting boon in Dan Lanning era DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM It feels like recruiting in the defensive secondary has taken off for Oregon since Dan Lanning and his staff took over. 23. Ducks want to get back to being... the Ducks Be sure, the son of LeBron James would have added electricity to Matthew Knight Arena next season. Nike would have been thrilled, too. But in the end, potentially adding Bronny, his body guards, a documentary film crew, and an entourage felt like an uneasy proposition for a program that badly needs to focus. In our candid conversation in March, Altman talked wistfully about former Oregon players such as Payton Pritchard, Chris Duarte, Dillon Brooks, Jordan Bell and Dylan Ennis. “Those guys weren’t as highly ranked as some others,” Altman told me, “but those guys were in the gym all the time.” Oregon’s 2023 class includes Kwame Evans and Portland-born Mookie Cook, two McDonald’s All-Americans. It also features guard Jackson Shelstad, who grew up in West Linn, emulating Pritchard’s workout routine and sitting courtside at his high school games. Shelstad is listed as a four-star or five-star recruit, depending on who does the counting. I don’t think the kid cares, either way. Like Pritchard, he’s in the gym at 6 a.m. and will return your call when he can. ___ Canzano: Bronny James picks USC while Oregon goes in search of its future WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Ducks want to get back to being... the Ducks
