Regarding Bo Nix: Beware ‘Bandwagon Buy-In’
NJDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thank you so much for this article. Having great analyzes about our team and coaches brings a healthy perspective entering into the season. -
"it's in the Pac-12's best interest to go slow, allow Big Ten to set the market, and give some other bidders a chance to weigh in." Canzano: There is a singular threat to Pac-12 now -- the Big Ten WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Pac-12 AD calls Big 12 threat "laughable."

This article is about a good human interest story on perseverance. She loved sports. "Dolores explained that sports contained an abundance of perseverance. There are daily examples of resilience and mettle on display. The quickest way out of a mess, she insisted, was to lean into your faith, and get straight through it. Sports exemplified that." We can all use a good story on the above mentioned to encourage us, especially with all that's going on around us. Instead of BSU I would invite BYU. They are good in athletics and ranked #21 in academics amongst colleges. They have a great fan base as well as a big rival with Utah. Or keep both and invite either Cincinnati, UCF or WV. These 3 schools might be too far geographically to work. But who knows. The issue with this, would it draw enough finances for each school to be worth it? I hate what is happening to College sports. Which is the better way for Oregon? Go to the Big 10 if invited or stay and form a super conference with other schools? Both ways has issues to consider. If Oregon has a choice they would go to the Big 10. it's where the money is as well as getting to the playoffs or to a New Year 6 bowl.

If you go down to about the last 3/4 of the article, he is going to interview with Yogi Roth live on his podcast today. But what I think would be interesting, John is forming a new alliance with Jon Wilner. They've signed on with Alpha Media, creating a podcast called "Canzano & Wilner." It seems you might have to subscribe. Canzano: College football waits for the trickle down of TV money WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM FCS funds programs with payday games

There are so many analysts making contradicting predictions in conference realignments makes your head spin. None of them, I am sure, knows anything. This one for example which was mentioned before at least makes sense. Conference Talk: Are We Finally Starting to Make Sense? - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Everyone discussing it. Everyone has a source. Everyone knows what’s going to happen with conference realignment. Except they don’t. I finally am starting to see news hit on Twitter that actually...

I could be wrong, but I believe because this is the Chick-fil-A kickoff game labeled neutral site, referees are suppose to be neutral as well. Most likely from either the ACC or Big 12 conference. Or possibly the refs in the game could be either SEC or Pac-12 refs and the instant replay ref would be the opposite.

GK left the door ajar just in case UCLA has second thoughts because of political pressures. But it really is political posturing by the governor and the UC regents. Doubt any of this posturing will deter UCLA from going to the Big 10. Canzano: UCLA gone? Yup, but Pac-12 leaves door ajar anyway WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Conference making contingency plans.

Once you go down to the questions and answers section there are some interesting thoughts from Canzano. Maybe ESPN tries flipping UCLA back to the Pac-12 with some incentives? A new media deal would be most likely 4-5 years. Canzano: Mailbag deals with betrayal, potential UCLA flip-flop, and sneaker waves WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Your questions, my answers...

Reasons Ducks Would Leave PAC-10 with Big 10 Invite
NJDuck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree with the article. Oregon needs to wait it out as long as possible, not locking into any contract at this time with the Pac-12. I can be wrong, but I doubt the Big 10 will want Oregon, Washington and Stanford to be locked into a new 5-6 year contract with the Pac-12. Can the Pac-12 actually get a good contract with competing distribution $$$'s? It doesn't seem they can. I hate seeing this happening to the Pac-12, but Oregon can't afford to be on the outside looking in. -

Oregon will need to make sure they 'EAT CROW' by end of season when we hoist the Pac-12 championship trophy. Go Ducks, Fly High!

The first part of the article talks about OSU's walk-on Jaydon Grant, might be the best story in the Pac-12. Other half of article, some thoughts on the Pac-12. It seems the two universities most talked about is SDSU and UNLV. If the Pac-12 wanted to bring in two schools within the Pac-12 footprint, the two mentioned seem to be the best choices available. These are two universities with the most uptick, future wise, for the conference. My opinion, even though BYU (within the Pac-12 footprint and Utah's arch rival) is heading to the Big 12, it's not too late for the Pac-12 to change their minds. But, who knows at this moment what the future holds for the individual universities and conference as a whole. Canzano: A walk-on story worth celebrating WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Plus... Pac-12 insiders irked with Kevin Warren's comments.

Big Ten Commish: The Conference Could Expand Beyond USC, UCLA

Our odds are much better going to the Big 10 if the Irish get want they want from NBC and stay independent. NBC and the Irish needs to hurry up and make the deal. -
Reports 24.5 Million Per Pac 12 Team From ESPN
NJDuck replied to curtisd316's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree. Wait it out at this time. It's a shame we lost a recruit lean as well to USC due to realignment. Ugh. -
I would consider BYU before FSU or BSU. They are ranked 21st academically nationwide amongst universities, strong fanbase following nationwide and a natural rival to Utah with strong athletics.

Ducks Talk: Future Still Uncertain for Pac-12, Oregon
NJDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If you are going to go there, I would go a step further and pull in Houston and BYU. Make it 16 team conference. Houston media market is ranked 8 with 2,450,800 TV Homes (unless Houston is too far. 239 miles between Dallas and Houston). BYU has a strong nationwide following and ranked 21st in academics amongst all the colleges nationwide. They also are strong in athletics.
