  1. UNLV has attain tier 1 research status. They might fit better than Nevada.
  2. Interesting take from Dan Wetzel form Yahoo Sports. Pac-12, ACC had chance to save themselves. Instead, it was an all-time botch job. SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Just like that the Pac-12 and ACC moved closer to the AAC and Mountain West than the Big Ten and SEC. And they can't blame anybody but themselves.
  3. This is most likely why Oregon has not come out with any statement. Maybe they are quietly waiting if they are excepted into the BIG. I could be wrong, but Oregon is looking at all options and the big one is if they will be invited to the BIG. I am conflicted about the whole thing, but like or not realty is super conferences are starting to happen. If all possible Oregon can't be on the outside looking in.
  4. You are right about Cal Law, there are a lot of the states BIG conference abide in that will not allow state employees to travel to. But it's hard for me to believe UCLA had not already discussed this with their lawyers with their options, before they considered the move. Maybe there are some loopholes. This has been in the works for awhile now.
  5. Canzano says per multiple sources, Folt assured her fellow Pac-12 chancellors and presents and even Kliavkoff that USC was committed to the conference---until it wasn't. I agree, Phil Knight could help. He loves Oregon and the state of Oregon. Canzano: Phil Knight can help put the Pac-12 back together again WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Sense of urgency arises in Pac-12.
  6. I heard talk USC would want to keep Oregon out of the BIG for that very reason. I wonder if the SEC sees any value grabbing Oregon, Washington, etc. to keep the BIG from having completely the West?
  7. I agree. Oregon does have Portland which is number 21 media market. Oregon also has a national brand with the 7th largest (5.54) fan base nationally as well as one of the top facilities in the country. But evidently, according to Canzano, what Oregon and Washington has to offer is not enough. He said he is not convinced either university brings enough value to make splitting the FOX television revenue with two additional partners to the BIG, a no-brainer. If true, the offer from the Big 12 would be the best option to join? That would bring the Big 12 to 16 teams. Can this get a huge media deal and a super conference status to bring clout to the table? This means CAL, Stanford, OSU, WSU, Utah and Colorado would be left out? I hope the powers there be at Oregon (hoping Phil Knight is helping in this decision making on a business point of view) makes the right decision. Go Ducks, Fly High!
  8. According to Pete Martini of the Salem Statesman Journal, Oregon has not made a public statement yet. Though that was as of yesterday, I still have not seen any statement yet come out. I think it's wise they've stayed silent on this issue and have not made a rash public statement. It's important they get this right. He said "the Ducks has built a national brand. I don't think they'll want to be further involved in a severely damaged PAC12" I wonder what kind of advice Phil Knight has given to the Oregon Administration in this matter?
  9. Seriously, now they decide this. I agree, "too little, too late."
  10. As much as I am sick about this whole disaster going on, Oregon needs to do what's best for Oregon. Hoping the powers there be at Oregon along with Mr. Knight makes the correct path to take. I think if Oregon gets an invite to join the BIG 10, take it. Not sure if the PAC 12 really has anything to offer Oregon to stay put. At this moment it seems trying ink out a new media deal will not be there.
  11. If it’s not too late, for Oregon sake, could join the Big 10 as well.
  12. I would think the Big 10 would consider Oregon and Washington viable partners to the Big 10.if the two Universities approach them, unless it’s too late? I am hoping Oregon is moving quickly behind the scenes doing what’s right for Oregon. This has really put Oregon in a pickle.
  13. Canzano’s response. Canzano: USC and UCLA moving to the Big Ten? Say it ain't so. WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Oregon and Washington next?
  14. Where would Oregon go if not the BIG10? It seems the BIG10 would be the way to go? Maybe USC, UCLA, us and Wasington would be enticing for the BIG10 to take all four schools?
  15. Canzano sees what DL is doing at Oregon feels natural and organic. He takes the over on the odds of Oregon winning 8.5 games. Canzano: Three coaches -- and three wins we shouldn't ignore WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM I weigh in on Oregon's Dan Lanning, Oregon State's Jonathan Smith and University of Portland's Shantay Legans
  16. Plus I think Washington is in somewhat of a panic, they are losing out on their brightest stars in their own home state as well as the transfer portal. They have been able to attract only one 4* athlete. That is the state they are in right now. I could be wrong on this assumption, but it seems it is what it is for them and they are accepting what they can accomplish.
  17. I am not sure if this article was mentioned, but what is worth noting in this article is a paragraph talking about Cedric Baxter Jr. emerging as a top target for Alabama at running back. Maybe we have a great shot at landing Young to Oregon. Love the picture of Moore handing the ball off to Young. Moore/Young combo at Oregon? Go Ducks, Fly High! Torres' Take: What Landing Dante Moore Would Mean for Oregon WWW.MSN.COM The Ducks have gained undeniable momentum for a top QB in 2023
  18. The first part of Canzano's article is on Pat Casey. Skip farther down to the section talking about the Big 12 taking a page out of the PAC12's playbook by hiring an outsider to the world of college athletics. According to Canzano, it appears college athletics, at least a couple of cases, is turning towards executives with experience in sponsorship, licensing, entertainment and brand strategy. Canzano: Pat Casey gets a front-row seat on Adley Rutschman's journey WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Plus... the Big 12 follows Pac-12 strategy.
  19. Go Ducks, Fly High! Hopefully will continue to see more good news coming out this last weekend visits. Oregon Recruiting: Ducks becomes favorite to land LB Blake Nichelson DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Another Crystal Ball Prediction for the Ducks logged after an impressive recruiting weekend.
  20. Hoping we win in the trenches, opening holes for our running backs, and giving QB plenty of protection this year.. Go Ducks! . Ducks named one of nation’s best offensive lines going into 2022 season SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Mario Cristobal left behind a nice offensive line for Dan Lanning to work with, and the Ducks take one of the top units into the 2022 season.
  21. Wow. I guess for husky fans as the old saying goes, Ignorant is Bliss?
  22. This is promising news! That Dante Moore is in Eugene. Imagine if Moore, Young and Uiagelelei commits to Oregon along with others? What a tremendous class 2023 will be! Thanks Log Haulin. Go Ducks, Fly High!
