  1. If Oregon is going to be the face of the Pac12 as the anchor, maybe negotiation for a bigger cut of the pie is warranted. Though I am sure that will go over like a thud with the other 9 schools.
  2. My hope is other entities/streaming services are in play, not just ESPN-evil channel is in play. Love your sentiment!
  3. I agree Annie. I too do not like PAC12 After Dark. I do not want to go back to that with the new negotiations. I am hoping Oregon as well as others will say a big NO on this. But, not sure what clout Pac 12 has in these negotiations since Pac 12 is in a weaken state.
  4. I agree! It does bother me that ESPN is the only one in this 30-day negotiation window that Pac-12 is talking with. I wish there was more entities at play during this period where ESPN is not holding all the cards.
  5. "ESPN is in an exclusive, 30-day negotiating window with the conference right now. Canzano believe that explains why we've had a lull when it comes to realignment news. The conference members are waiting to see what kind of offer the Pac 12 will get." According to what Canzano source (Thompson) said, "ESPN needs Pac 12 more than anybody and will likely pay more than anyone else. Interesting that ESPN, according to Thompson, likes the West Coast window for football and basketball inventory. They might be willing to make something out of the Pac 12 network and need content for ESPN+." Some more interesting information from Thompson as well as other info in this article worth reading. Canzano: ESPN plays kingmaker as Pac-12 waits... plus, a Dutch Bros laugh... and a lawsuit looms WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Some rich stuff here...
  6. I would root for conference foes when they are playing non-conference games. It only makes the conference looks stronger as a whole which only helps Oregon in the long run.
  7. Evidently they really don't realize they did not get in due to their so called blue blood status, but only due to their school is in the LA market area. If Oregon was in the LA market area BIG 10 would have invited Oregon. They don't want to admit it, but they are very jealous of Oregon's success especially right in their own backyard in recruiting. Oh yeah, their so called blue blood sign is very tarnished and faded for the past 13 years due to their worthlessness. Go Ducks, Fly High!
  8. I still think the ACC and Pac 12 should have voted to expand CFP. They could most likely assured at least one team champion from each conference an automatic bid into the playoffs.
  9. As the old saying goes, "All Quiet on the Western Front." At least for the weekend that is. "One conference AD said telling their coaches don't believe everything you read. They're doing their best to stabilize the conference and make moves to make the conference sustainable." "Oregon, Stanford and Washington are viewed as the most attractive potential candidates as additions to the Big Ten or SEC. But as we all know have not been formally invited. Respective media-revenue numbers don't come close to penciling out without Notre Dame involved." As we know it's the waiting game with Notre Dame. But, "the remaining 10 members of the conference feel that the dialogue has been candid, productive and forward thinking --- the numbers point to the remaining 10 sticking together." Canzano: Pac-12 athletic directors celebrated 'quiet weekend' WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Conference ADs will meet again today.
  10. Thank you Log Haulin for this article. You read so many different realignment contradictions and takeovers makes your head swim. It's like no matter what you do your doomed! The only survival option is to be invited by either the BIG or SEC. All other options are out the door and doomed to secede. Even though Oregon's viewership and national brand is flourishing, but because Oregon is in a local media market of 21 and geographically does not fit you might not get invited to join. it's hard to believe that you can't take the remaining schools from the ACC, PAC and Big 12 that does not have enough media market clout to form another great conference. My hope is those involved with the decision making at Oregon (glad Phil Knight is involved) to make the best possible decision that will make Oregon continue to be successful and flourish in the next coming changes and landscape of college football! I Still don't know how the likes of basketball, track and field, baseball, softball, etc. will endure the grueling schedule when geographically and culturally speaking is not a good fit. I love my Ducks!
  11. I just finished reading the article from Clemsen's viewpoint it seems a partnership with ACC is not what they want.
  12. I know this all been talked about and maybe I am naive, but what about merging the best of the Big12/Pac12 and create a partnership with The ACC? Bring together the strongest partnership possible to try and create a strong conference. Like you said, bid out to the likes of Amazon, Apple CBS, NBC, etc. along with ESPN and or Fox. Try to generate the best possible highest media rights. I think the 3 conferences need to come together to stop the bleeding and forge the best possible scenario. There are good teams with good media markets that could work with a newly forged partnership.
  13. Question and Answer segment: Interesting that Boise outperforms all other Mountain West schools when it comes to viewership. Which comes to the question, just because a school is in a high market media area does not mean they get better viewership than a school that's not. Comes to mind, our Beloved Ducks and the following fan base and nationwide viewership. Yes, locally we are consider in a smaller media market, but we out perform other schools in bigger markets. Canzano: Mailbag deals with Pac-12's emerging options, Narnia, and why the Blazers are stalling WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Your questions, my answers...
  14. Of course, the two institutions that helped squashed the deal....USC and UCLA. Unbelievable!
  15. One AD said George is great, but he had one job...keep USC in the fold. Canzano: Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff's legacy hinges on what happens next WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Pac-12 leader faces crisis.
  16. Now if Dante and coaching staff can recruit Richard Young (RB) to be a Duck would be fantastic! Dante Moore and Richard Young seem to hit off really well when they visited Oregon.
  17. I really like what he had to say about the process and why he chose Oregon.
  18. IT'S OFFICIAL, DANTE MOORE CHOSE OREGON!!! GO DUCKS, FLY HIGH!!!
  19. If that's true, it's a shame she is wanting to do that. Turning down a 2 billion dollar plus offer. I could be wrong, but I don't think she will get a better offer than this!
  20. For those who are Blazer fans. Turning down Knight's offer. Knight would be a terrific NBA owner. He would love the franchise and nurture it. Jody Allen, not so much. Canzano: Alleged sins of Jody Allen dusted off amid Phil Knight offer for Blazers WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Report digs up allegations about animal bones.
  21. I also like the part where they discuss changing distribution of the revenue. Creating a tier system giving those schools (like Oregon) who have done more of the heavy lifting and carried the leagues brand to be entitled to a higher percentage cut.
  22. Sorry, which show he is going to be on? Never mind, on ESPN
  23. If that is the case, maybe Oregon and Washington along with Notre Dame and one other school will get the invite to join Big 10?
  24. I do like when Canzano asked Biggins if USC/UCLA departure will hurt Oregon's recruiting in Southern California?. He thinks it will not close any doors. He said those kids were choosing Oregon because they loved Oregon, the coaching, etc. Not sure if this is possible, but maybe the Pac 12 should try and poach some of the Big12 schools that will bring in the most viewerships/cities? loosely contract with ACC. Maybe that might be the best option if Oregon can't get into the BIG or SEC at this time.
