Raymond Pulido, Duck OL Target, Commits to Alabama
Pac10again replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If I am a girlfriend or parent of a top recruit, I tell them to take the money and sign on with one of the two professional conferences: the BIG or the SEC. For top recruits it's all about money and exposure. College football is now a professional sport. Paid players are not amateurs. So as a parent I treat it as such. Oregon either pays up or says adios to any future as a contender. By contender I mean National Championship level. They will always be a Pac -10 threat. But is that a big deal to a top recruit? -
Three Reasons Ducks Will Win Pac-12

Nead to see the defensive line against Goergia and BYU first. But hoping you are right. The running backs and D line are my only concerns -

There are lots of reasons we can win the Pac-12 and only two reasons we may not. Utah and USC -
Top 25 Pac-12 Transfers for the 2022 Season
Pac10again replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Glad USC is going to the BIG and were not. Take a good look at the top 25 transfers. #1, 2, 4, 7 13,18,24. Riley would do that every year plus the ones he could recruit. USC leaving hurt their chances at a Natty; but I believe it helped ours. -
Beware Kicking the Dawg: DeBoer Bites Back
Pac10again replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
USC already has. Without Riley they do not have near the team to start this season. USC has the offensive talent to easily be top 3 in the country. They have the most talented combination of receivers and QB in the country. Washington will NEVER be able to say that even if Jimmy Johnson coached them. -

Ducks Football Players Form Eugene NIL Collective
Pac10again replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I do have a problem with the players earning cash. If you want to pay them as professionals, then pay the entire team. Thats how it works in the NFL. But the players should pay their own way through college including, transportation, housing, tuition, food, and all the rest. They want paid like professional adults, then they can live like adults. Professionals pay their own way through life. College football is now a professional sport; therefore, I will no longer purchase a single piece of merchandise. I will cheer them on, maybe go to a game now and then, but in no way will I support professionals as if they are "amateur student athletes." I certainly have no beef with those of you who still call this an amateur sport and act accordingly. Maybe I am in the minority in my belief that college football is dead. Paid athletes are professional's period, and professionals do not play amateur sports. -

Oregon’s Two-Quarterback Solution
Pac10again replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Two head cooks in the kitchen is one to many. Bo's stats are against premium defensive lines, linebackers, and defensive backs. All while running for his life. And he beat Alabama under those conditions. You take Bo of this team right now and we open play 1-2 before conference starts. Those referencing Clemson's 2 QB rotation are forgetting the stud coming up was a generational QB. Dabo knew that kid was going to take over soon into the season. I for one want to win THIS season, as I feel we have better chance at playoffs this year, then we do next season. NO to a 2 QB rotation, that is suicide. Play your next year's starter in second half when you can, and never at any other time. I am never wrong, and this opinion will not be the exception. -
Regarding Bo Nix: Beware ‘Bandwagon Buy-In’
Pac10again replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Again, you have to factor in that bo nix was running for his life most games. STATS don't tell the entire story. those other lines were much better than NIX's. Receivers much better. Put Mariota on those teams NIX played for, and he would not have won a Heisman. Stats don't mean squat. And you are comparing SEC QB to each other. I'm saying the defenders in the SEC are light years ahead of the PAC's. It will be like slow motion for Bo now. Add a good offensive line and receivers like we have now, and the ingredients are there for a great season. I'm far more worried about the defensive line and running backs than I am about BO. -

He beat Alabama....enough said. A reasonable person must accept BO played real defenses. his stats in the Pac 12 would be off the charts against our defenses. -
Regarding Bo Nix: Beware ‘Bandwagon Buy-In’
Pac10again replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I can give you a list of top 10 college defenses Bo NIx has had to build stats against. I can give you a list of college backs, who are now pros, NIX has thrown against. Now tell me again who exactly has Thompson or Butterfield faced? Comparing QB stats is tricky. You have to look at the competition. Bo isn't facing future NFL starters on Defense every game in the PAC this year like he did in the SEC. -

Playing against SEC defenses like NIX has done is much harder than the Swiss cheese secondaries he will see this year in the PAC -12. BO will do well in my opinion. -
The Great College Football Schism is Coming
Pac10again replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I for one have already quit buying any merchandise from any collegiate football team. i will continue to cheer, watch the games, and wish the student athletes the best, but I will never again financially support the schools. They get a free top tier education that most do not. They have been getting paid now for years. It has already become a professional sport; who are we kidding besides ourselves? -

I disagree the players have an opportunity at a great education for free. If they choose to not take advantage of that they failed themselves. -
I'm from down there. I'm telling you Georgia is coming head hunting. They hate us in the South. Oregon's going to get hit like none of these players have ever been hit. I'm not saying we will roll over-not at all...but Georgia is foaming at the mouth for September 3rd. This is a MAJOR statement game for both conferences.
