  1. USC may be fielding the best passing attack in all of college football. Plus they have one of the top running back duo's. If they develop a scheme like Washington State did under leach they will be unstoppable. Leach did not have Alabama linemen and they stomped us a few times. USC has the receivers to beat anyone heads up. Quick slants and passes to the flats, a missed tackle later and its see you... I agree the O line is USC's weak link on offense. But they don't need to throw 50 yard bombs to score 40 points per game. All the line has to do is hold for 2-3 seconds. Crazy as this may sound, if Leach were coaching them this year, I would bet we see USC in Pac-10 title game not Utah.
  2. Well I feel certain he will stay here at least until he gets a better offer.
  3. Once college football became professional football I started treating it as such. So not only will I not contribute to the NIL I've stopped buying merchandise as well. NIL will destroy "team sports." You want to block for a guy driving a Rolls Royce to practice while you are eating mac and cheese? They will have to pay all players or this will backfire?
  4. I really wish this was later in the season. So much of our talent and new schemes are just going to take time to develop. This happened to Ohio State last year. We beat them by 7 or so I think. But by seasons end they beat the team that killed us. I think that may be us this season? I truly hope Utah beats Florida. That too will be big boy football with the SEC having all the advantages. Huge weekend for the PAC.
  5. "Their backups, were their backups for a reason." The reason is because they were freshmen and sophomores behind first round draft picks. Just saying. And now they too will be first and second round choices this year. Love your enthusiasm though.
  6. I honestly do not know what to say to that. But I cannot help but think they will be a tougher bunch for it. Thats commitment.
  7. From the articles I've read, based on that very question, Georgia has a distinct advantage.
  8. I must admit Oregon's glory days were largely in part to our superior conditioning. We worked harder in practice then the other teams did. So the concept of hard work producing results is valid. But in today's culture perhaps it should be an individual's choice. Now if he wins the BIG, Nebraska fans will be cool with philosophy of "vomiting your way to the top." If he does not, then he will be a vicious task master, and looking for another job.
  9. I think Georgia holds Oregon to 20 points. Georgia is 10 points better, so I would say on a neutral field, which this is not, Georgia 30-20. Now add 14 for homefield advantage, more experienced coaching staff, and a better defensive line. Georgia wins 44-20.
  10. I think Mario was a Saban plant. It's the only explanation that makes sense.
  11. That duck reminded me of De Anthony...
  12. I think Nick Satan plays for the other side
  13. I am also glad we have an SEC QB starting against Georgia. I would bet my wife's cat, and my dog, on it. And I love my dog.
  14. I expect Utah and Colrado and both Arizona Schools to join BIG 12. Or just the Arizona Schools. But I believe we lose at least two more schools fairly soon. I'm beginning to think were the weakest "power 5" conference money wise. I just hope we get an invite to the BIG now.
  15. I may be a bit negative I suppose. But those two losses against Utah, and the one against Oklahoma, are still very fresh in my mind. I won't give up on the ducks if we lose, or even get pounded, by Georgia. I care only about our ability to stop the run. I am convinced if we have the ability to hold Georgia to an average of 4.5 yards per carry, we will be facing USC for Pac-12 title with just 1 loss. Win that were in play-offs. Unlike many, I have complete confidence BO and company will explode in conference play. And that Our D will make up for a dumb play or two from BO.
  16. Stanford and Utah continue to destroy us with elite tight ends. I cannot remember a time we could stop them. We have beaten them by simply outscoring them. But in a new system with young players, and no time for gelling, we will be forced to stop the future NFL tight ends at Georgia. We will not be able to hang 40 on Georgia and simply outscore them. This is going to be big boy football. I watched Utah blow our defense off the field twice. Until I see some major changes on the field, I am highly concerned. Elite line-backers and safeties we have!! But big boy football is won on the line. Georgia will line up and pound, pound, pound. We stop the run, and short passes to tight ends, we win. If we cannot, we lose by 30. Again, I hate the SEC, but I lived there. Football is a religion in the south. They think Nick Saban is coming back in the clouds, not Jesus. Win or lose, I will be happy if I see us stop Georgia's run game. That means we can beat Utah.
  17. Utah is returning the same offense, and much of their defense, that beat us by 80 points at the end of the season. This is partly why Oregon is considered over ranked by most outside of the Northwest.
  18. You disagreed while proving my point. "Bama, UGA, Then OSU are the top three and have 74 to 65 blue-chips, then it's a gap back to the next". "The SEC has 5 of the top 10 rosters in FBS". You can throw USC in to the big ten now as well. After that you listed even more big ten and sec teams. I call having 50 percent of the top 10 rosters in the entire country as being saturated. And you also know there is a huge difference in 4-star recruits. Georgia, LSU, Bama, Clemson Ohio State, Texas A&M, USC, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi state, ole miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, and there's even more!!! those are all in top 30 classes. So you have proven my point. Over half the top 30 teams in the nation talent wise all come from two conferences. The SEC and The BIG. And it's going to get even worse with expansion bank it. And I guarantee you those top SEC teams have players, not good enough to start, that would start for Oregon. Give that some thought.
  19. Again his stats were against the best defenses in the country not the Pac-10's. With a horrible offensive line, average run game, and continual coaching changes. Yet he beat Bama. He will shred the Pac-10. I am not an SEC homer...but I try to base opinions on facts. In the past 3 years the best defensive players are saturating the SEC and Big 10, they have more 4 - and 5-star players on their bench then almost any Pac-10 team has on their entire team. STATS do not mean squat in regard to BO. I am convinced that our season (in conference play) comes down to our defensive line. If we can stop the run, I believe we will be facing Utah with just 1 loss and a possibility of a playoff berth. I hate the SEC but I give credit where its due. Bo played weekly against the best of the best. He is the least of my concerns this season. He has the line and receivers to light it up. You will be hearing "Bo for Heisman before this season is over"
  20. Do you believe the Pac 12 has the same quality of defenses as the SEC? I do not. Not even close. Therefore, my point was you cannot use pac-12 QB's stats in comparison. Bo beat Bama. Who again has any of are other QB's beaten? I prefer to let the play on the field speak for itself. Bo is on the best defensive team in the Pac, so he should have a field day, against everyone but UTAH. Your view seems to consider the PAC 12 as equals defensively speaking. I'm in complete disagreement. And my opinion is based on what happens on the field and nothing else. And Georgia lost most their starting Defense to the PRO's, and they will still be the best D we face all year. Thats all I'm saying.
  21. How many passing attempts against real competition have JB or TT had? You want them to go up against one of the best defensive lines in the nation? Not to mention 5-star defensive backs that all want to make a statement! I still remember the two UTAH games. This Georgia team is better than them. Bo will start period. Lanning knows exactly what the Ducks are going to see September 3rd in front of 100,000 Georgia fans. No way he puts a QB in there with ZERO experience. He doesn't want to lose by 40 either.
  22. Comparing stats with SEC verses Pac 10 is comparing apples to oranges. There is NO comparison. Sorry but everyone outside of Pac 10 fans understand that the SEC fields soon to be starting NFL defensive backs and safeties. The Pac gets 1 or 2 on a good year. Go take a look at the draft boards the past decade. Plus, those QB's you're putting ahead of Bo, in the SEC, also had elite offensive lines, and running games, and those QB's were not running for their lives every play. Perhaps that makes for better stats. Just saying. Now put Bo against the Pac 12's Swiss cheese defenses in his career and his numbers would be MUCH improved.
  23. My questions about the D-line will be answered at Georgia and at home against BYU.
