The journey to Omaha will take place on the road for the Oregon State and Oregon baseball teams. The NCAA on Sunday unveiled the 16 host sites for the regionals of the NCAA baseball tournament and the Beavers and Ducks, in a widely anticipated move, were not selected to host in the postseason. The regionals will take place Friday through next Monday on campuses across the country. A record eight will take place at Southeast Conference Schools and just one — at Stanford — will be held on the West Coast. The 64-team tournament field, including the national seeds, will be revealed at 9 a.m. Monday during a selection show on ESPN2. The Ducks clinched a berth to the tournament on Saturday, when they defeated Arizona in the Pac-12 baseball tournament championship game. They were on the postseason bubble heading into the tournament, but after heir improbable run in the tournament, the Ducks are projected to be a No. 2 seed. The 10th-ranked Beavers are a lock for an at-large postseason bid and, despite stumbling to a pair of losses in Scottsdale, are also projected to be a No. 2 seed. Here are the 16 hosts teams: Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) Arkansas (Fayetteville, Ark.) Auburn (Auburn, Ala.) Clemson (Clemson, S.C.) Coastal Carolina (Conway, S.C.) Florida (Gainesville, Fla.) Indiana State (Terre Haute, Ind.) Kentucky (Lexington, Ky.) LSU (Baton Rouge, La.) Miami (Coral Gables, Fla.) Oklahoma State (Stillwater, Okla.) South Carolina (Columbia, S.C.) Jon Joseph No. 4 Share Posted May 29, 2023 SEC schools have done well in Omaha in the past but this is a joke. Reminds me of the seeding advantages B1G teams receive in the CBB tourney. Get used to this because, in a 12-team football field, the B1G/SEC will dominate selections notwithstanding that 1 B1G team, Ohio State as we unfortunately know, has won a playoff title. If you don't follow the money you are not paying attention. Among other things, it is less expensive for ESPN to broadcast from the Eastern and Central time zones and this kind of junk helps to sell the SEC Network. I don't know if college athletics are a joke but I do know that college sports are owned and operated by the media. It's been downhill for the Pac since Tom Hansen allowed, with no consideration, the Rose Bowl to be the BCS/Playoff equivalent of the Peach Bowl. (Please beware of waving cane!) Funniest thing about this, is I saw someone complain about Stanford being ranked so high, and Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball alluded to Stanford having a history that made them worthy.
