Hey!  Welcome back, PD!  I'm so glad to see your screen name again.  I know it takes a while to overcome what you've been through.  Here is hoping you will be good as new, soon.

Welcome back P Duck. Great to see you back posting info and articles. Best wishes on yoir complete recovery.

Hope the Ducks pitching staff has enough juice left in their arms to lead the team to victory and on to the College World Series.

ORU is a fierce competitor and wont go down easily. This is the game that all the players have dreamed about playing in their entire lives.

Oh NO!

The last two outings have been a disaster for Pace. He had completely lost his confidence...

Pitchers never gave themselves a chance in this game or last night, you can't walk so many guys without the consequence of eventually getting demolished, needed Grant to make the play last night.

Of the 14 teams starting play this morning still hoping for Omaha, Oral Roberts had the 4th most runs scored this season, and was No. 2 nationally in 2023 in wins only behind Wake Forest by just one win.  ORU likely was not a 4-seed at Oklahoma City regional.   Will be interesting to see how Omaha goes for them.

Oregon baseball’s season ends with loss to Oral Roberts in Game 3 of Eugene Super Regional

Oregon’s wait to return to Omaha will extend into a 70th year.

The Ducks led early but their lack of quality pitching depth once again proved costly in the postseason.

Oral Roberts denies Oregon its trip to Omaha with Game 3 victory

At the end of the day, the Ducks will look at the 11 walks, an error, and baserunning blunders and see those are what cost them a ticket to the CWS. The Ducks used a grand total of nine pitchers, four in the ninth inning alone, trying to piecemeal the entire game and it didn’t work.

Not that it would have made a difference, but I wasn't a fan of Waz being cute in the 9th with his pitching decisions.  Ian Umlandt started the inning and got 2 outs on 9 pitches.  He did walk a guy, but he was at least able to throw over the plate.

At least the Ducks got to experience the Super Regional.  The fielders are mostly juniors and seniors.  I wonder how many are going to come back for next season.

We aren't there at practice, but they have not used Umlandt for anything other than short stretches in the season after he got bombed once as a starter.  There must be a reason...

Postgame vs. Oral Roberts | Super Regional Game 3

Head Baseball Coach Mark Wasikowski and members of the team meet with the media following Oral Roberts' Game 3 win to take the Eugene Super Regional over the Ducks.

For whatever reason, this was just posted today. I know some of you like to see the postgame interviews so here is last one of the season.

Players looked crushed. This team gave everything they had. While it may not have been the outcome we all hoped for... You can't help but be proud of them. Great season boys! Go Ducks!

Two outs away...one more pitcher experienced and uninjured away...

On that interview with Coach Waz, he pointed out that the illness that hit Turner Spoljaric made him lose TWENTY TWO pounds in a short time!  He did not have that weight to lose, and yet he wanted to get on the hill.

Waz would be a fun coach to play for.
