NJDuck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted January 5 Noah Whittington is back. The former Western Kentucky running back confirmed on social media Friday afternoon that he will return for a third year with the Ducks in 2024. Whittington was a fixture in the backfield in 2022, but an injury suffered early in the 2023 campaign sidelined him for the remainder of the season. With Bucky Irving heading to the NFL Draft, Whittington figures to have a featured role within the offense next fall. kirklandduck Moderator No. 3 Share Posted January 5 Not a shocker, he just needs one solid season then can declare for the NFL. He and Jordan James should be 1 and 1A in the pecking order heading into the B10.

Based on the video replay it looks like his left ankle. Hopefully he'll be 100%, if he is then he's probably our next 1000 yard rusher. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/football/oregon-ducks-rb-noah-whittington-expected-to-miss-remainder-of-2023-season

Jon Joseph Moderator No. 6 Share Posted January 6 Hats off to Whit. After seeing what Schraeder did for Mizzou in 2023 I'm fascinated to see what Harris will do in 2024.

I'll be honest... Whittington isn't going to be a featured back at Oregon. Bucky didn't even get featured back carries this season. And James is going to be hard to deny carries and Harris is a big boddied bruiser. Whittington is going to be a change of pace back but that's not a bad thing. 1 1
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 8 Share Posted January 6 Noah is the fastest running back, and is deadly coming out of the backfield receiving passes. He did fantastic under Dilly doing that, but with the Stein offense? Whew! A long receiving TD in this game... 1 2 1 Mr. FishDuck

Give him some designed runs up the middle and pitches to the outside but shift him all over the field to create match up issues for the defense. We should also consider using him as the kickoff and punt returner as that could increase his draft stock.
