Noah Whittington is back.

The former Western Kentucky running back confirmed on social media Friday afternoon that he will return for a third year with the Ducks in 2024. Whittington was a fixture in the backfield in 2022, but an injury suffered early in the 2023 campaign sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

With Bucky Irving heading to the NFL Draft, Whittington figures to have a featured role within the offense next fall.

Noah Whittington, a potential starter at running back for Oregon next season, reveals his plan for 2024.

Never heard his exact injury. Will he be 100% at start of season?

Not a shocker, he just needs one solid season then can declare for the NFL.  He and Jordan James should be 1 and 1A in the pecking order heading into the B10.

Hats off to Whit. After seeing what Schraeder did for Mizzou in 2023 I'm fascinated to see what Harris will do in 2024.

I'll be honest...

Whittington isn't going to be a featured back at Oregon. Bucky didn't even get featured back carries this season.

And James is going to be hard to deny carries and Harris is a big boddied bruiser. Whittington is going to be a change of pace back but that's not a bad thing.

Noah is the fastest running back, and is deadly coming out of the backfield receiving passes.  He did fantastic under Dilly doing that, but with the Stein offense?  Whew!

A long receiving TD in this game...

Oregon should use Noah, like the Niners use Christian McCaffrey. Give him some designed runs up the middle and pitches to the outside but shift him all over the field to create match up issues for the defense.

We should also consider using him as the kickoff and punt returner as that could increase his draft stock.

I was going to say the same.. Jordan has already earned the starting position in my eyes.
