Okay, I was thinking the same thing you are, so is Matt Zemek, who wrote it, but give it a look.

The Big Ten football season might have an all-conference matchup in the College Football Playoff, but we don't know how the

Once you get past the title, he does make several good points.

And, Oregon has already "won" the B1G.

A good read.

Click-bait title, as a more accurate one is…Why Oregon Deserves to NOT Play in the B1G Championship, but he got me to click!

He makes a great point. Oregon went through the season undefeated, the only team to do so. They don't deserve having to risk anything, an injury, a loss. Oregon deserves to be sitting back and relaxing, while other teams fight it out to get to the Playoffs.

CCGs have outlived their usefulness, despite their efforts with the free bye to keep them relevant.

They had me in the first half, not gonna lie.

Having said that, it's hard to disagree.

I like them a little better for "March Madness", when a team has to win at least 3 games, back to back, to back to be named champion. This is completely unnecessary and creates confusion. If 4 teams need to have byes, just have them be the top 4 teams in the ranking.

Wow....we are NOT popular in B1G Country!

Mr. FishDuck

Definitely a click-bait title . . . shame!

I like all the arguments made in the article, and would be fine if they switched to the outlined format.

That said, I really like watching the Ducks as much as possible. Any Saturday without Ducks football feels empty.

So, while logic and reason may say Oregon shouldn't have to play Saturday, I couldn't be happier to watch them go against a big-time opponent on a big stage.

South Dakota, what did Oregon ever do to you?!

Clickbait for sure.

However this is what Jon Joseph has been saying all year.

Ain't that right Jon??

2014... Oregon 62 South Dakota State 13.

That's what we did.

Litter bugs on the Oregon Trail.

In regard to the article, changes will be made next year.  Not sure that one, but re-seeding after each round makes sense.

I agree with this guy 100%. There is zero upside for Oregon playing this game, and only risk.

Absolutely none, there's only a downside. A loss for Oregon would drop them from the No.1, unless the Committee really meant it when they said they wouldn't punish losers of a CCG. Which really makes the game unnecessary.
