December 7, 2024Dec 7 What have I beefed about the past three years? Texas pulls off a 50 yard pass completion because the safety was eye balling QB Ewers instead of immediately covering his half of the field. I’ll take my million dollars now (lol-for every observation, I’m getting paid like a consultant. Ha ha ha). If OBD want to win today, cover your damn assignment. Don’t look at the QB.
December 7, 2024Dec 7 Moderator In this drive Georgia finally got to Ewers for a sack and forced the FG, the WR's are getting open.
December 7, 2024Dec 7 Moderator Roughing call was total BS. Gotta beat UGA and the SEC refs. They’re protecting the shield.
December 7, 2024Dec 7 Sloppy first half by Texas, not sure what Georgia is doing but if you can't catch the ball I'm not sure what you do.
December 7, 2024Dec 7 “coach, 8 penalties in the first half, what will you do to clean that up in the second half?” Sark, “uh, well hopefully they will start to penalize them in the second half.” Brilliant plan Coach, tell your team that is how you plan to maintain your 3 point lead. That will fire them up.
December 7, 2024Dec 7 Has anyone seen anything from either of the top two SEC teams that would cause any worry if they lasted long enough to play OBD?

December 7, 2024Dec 7 Moderator Yikes, neither teams' olines are offering much protection for their QBs. Georgia's in a bad spot with Beck out.
December 7, 2024Dec 7 Moderator Important for Texas that they kept Georgia out of the end zone and forced the FG.

December 8, 2024Dec 8 Moderator I don't know if Georgia can get enough offense going with Beck out. That Stockton kid is playing gutsy but you can tell he's limited due to his experience.
December 8, 2024Dec 8 Moderator I was about to say I liked Georgia starting to attack the edges to get yards but then that WR ran it right back into the teeth of the Texas dline instead of going outside. Oy 🤦♂️
December 8, 2024Dec 8 Georgia catches their 2nd INT of the night. Looks like they'll probably win this game. Neither have been impressive though. This makes me feel a lot better about the Ducks chance at a Natty.
December 8, 2024Dec 8 I certainly don’t want Ewers in Eugene, when he enters the portal. He’s not good in big games.
December 8, 2024Dec 8 This game is a turnover fest. Neither team looks impressive, and Georgia is getting really badly banged up.

Wow, you’ve really got to hand it to the SEC for their elite defensive prowess. I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch a slugfest where teams routinely light up the scoreboard for 40, 50, even 60 points? Clearly, these defenses are just letting their offenses 'shine,' right? Let’s not pretend it’s a total lack of discipline, blown coverages, or complete aversion to tackling. Nope, it's all part of the strategy, y’all. You can almost hear the defensive coordinators saying, 'Let’s make this game exciting by making sure our secondary plays flag football while the D-line takes an extended coffee break.' Pure brilliance. And don’t get me started on how our beloved Ducks could never compete with such iron-clad defenses. You know, because Oregon’s lightning-fast offense would obviously crumble against all that SEC grit. Imagine Dillon Gabriel throwing against cornerbacks who only occasionally remember their assignment or Jordan James trying to run through linebackers who take 'arm tackling' to the next level. Yep, no chance at all. We should have just stayed in the Pac-12—oops, I mean the Pac-2—because there’s no way our 'soft' West Coast squad could keep up with the 'unparalleled dominance' of SEC defenses that seem to peak in the highlights of...other teams scoring.
December 8, 2024Dec 8 I guess good game Georgia. I know we have a couple awesome Georgia fans that are in the forum regularly... but man, oh man was that underwhelming.
December 8, 2024Dec 8 Much preferable to a Texas win, but only because I have a co-worker who is a Texas Zealot.
December 8, 2024Dec 8 Moderator Congrats to Georgia on the win, ugly as it was. Texas might get matched up with Ohio St in the 1st round, that'll be another ugly game.
