Grandpa Duck No. 1 Share Posted December 8 I left the family room for a couple of minutes for my pregame pit stop and missed the coin flip. When I returned and heard the announcer say that Penn State had won the toss and deferred I told my wife: "That's a mistake." Franklin gave OBD the ball and the opportunity to gain the lead, which was never relinquished. Another part of that is that OBD got one more drive in the first half and scored on the first and the last. Many are saying our defense was carried by the offense. In a way, that's true. But the defense succeeded in holding Penn State to a field goal on their first drive, and to stopping them completely on the opening drive ot the second half. OBD won the third quarter 7-0. We won the kicking game. Penn State missed a field goal, and our OBD punter out performed theirs. OBD had about 45 fewer yards of penalty. That can be chalked up to discipline. Obviously OBD coaching staff has improved player performance in this area. Yes, Penn State made more yards from scrimmage than OBD. They had to. Their penalties and OBD kicking game gave them a longer field, that is, poorer field position and farther to go to reach the goal line than OBD Of such things are championships won. 2 4 3 10

Aller threw two picks that decided the game. The first one turned into a go ahead score from what the 2 yard line? The second sealed the game. The Ducks played bend but don't break defense. It worked. They gave Penn State field goals when they needed touchdowns. They took the ball away when Penn State needed to drive the field. Oregon going first was absolutely a Prnn State mistake. Nice catch!
Ktmguy2018 No. 5 Share Posted December 8 Penn State traveled approximately 500 miles, Oregon traveled 2200 miles. On a side note, Tez is still catching passes against that defense. 1
OregonDucks No. 6 Share Posted December 9 (edited) On TV it almost sounded like a PSU home game, at times. Wonder what the split was between Oregon and Penn State fans? Edited December 9 by OregonDucks

woundedknees No. 8 Share Posted December 9 By the time, the confetti settled, there was indeed and empty stadium revealed. This was a team game, but the look on Tez's face? PRICELESS

The white outs looked miffed that Duck fans were partying in their place! Not a whiff of a mention by the broadcast folks. 1
criticalduck No. 10 Share Posted December 9 I was at the game and it was 70% psu, 15% Ducks, and 15% other fans. It was great because no matter how loud they got, OBD converted drives into scores. 2 3 1
