30Duck Moderator No. 2 Share Posted December 13 Indiana has gone from a team I never gave a thought about, except that Penix played there, to one of my most detested, so definitely looking forward to taking down the "emerging super power". osu3? Ah, the Trojans. will they be playing for bowl eligibility in this one?

Jon Sousa No. 4 Share Posted December 13 Since I saw the schedule, the game that concerns me the most is yetanotherOSU. This is not because they were a powerhouse this year, but because they are so early on the schedule. Assuming that our O-line will not be a mess early next year, we still will have a new starting QB. I hope it is either Novosad or Moore rather than a portal QB because they know the system and will only need real game snaps. The problem is that those first early snaps will come against an historically good Oklahoma State team. At least it is not the first game of the year. Montana State is a formidable enough opponent in its own right.

For starters, the coach just rubs me the wrong way, he's the antithesis of Lanning, " I win, google me", come on. Games are often seen as measuring sticks during a season, those games for Indiana were struggling against Michigan and getting blown out by an osu2 team with major issues, not running up the score on a woefully bad Purdue.

Tom Allen, now Penn State's DC, was one of the nice guy coaches in Bloomington. When you take over the losingest program in CFB you best be ready to kick booty. Cig did so and he deserves the booty that followed. Both Nix and Gabriel needed almost half a season in their first years before they got comfortable in the offense (and that's with 4-5 years already under their belts). If it's Moore or Novasad it may take longer given their youth and inexperience, that makes the Indiana and Penn St. games dangerous since they're in the 1st half of the season. Penn St is a road game in week 5 right before Oregon's first bye week so I might chalk up that one as the most likely loss in the schedule.

Overall it's a very very easy schedule, a bit like Texas this year. Penn St. in a whiteout will be quite the tough trip, but we should be favored in every other matchup.
