30Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:02 PM The author makes a good case. It definitely means a LOT to Oregon; the team and fans will be devastated if the Ducks' season ends on the first day of 2025. But if osu2 loses? Pull out the crash carts! Ohio State Buckeyes' Future is at Stake Against Oregon WWW.SI.COM The Ohio State Buckeyes will be facing the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl next Wednesday, which is enough of a doozy in and...

Charles Fischer Administrator No. 3 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:47 PM Good grief. He says it out loud...what we've always known the nation was thinking... "The Ducks aren't going anywhere. They have been an elite program for years now, but because they played in the Pac-12, not everyone took them entirely seriously." Wow. There is it, brutally out-loud. While leaving the Pac-12 was sad, but the best thing for us by a mile. Mr. FishDuck
HappyToBeADuck No. 4 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:26 PM As i mentioned in another post this game has much more at stake than the Rose Bowl and CFP advancement. Should Oregon be fortunate enough to take down osu2 again, that would be a statement victory A statement victory that reinforces that Oregon is the BIG Champion. osu2 players, coaches and fans believe the October victory was a fluke. This victory will put that to bed. Even the BIG Conference top brass did not expect to crown OBD's champions. . I went onto the BIG football news site and the only articles were about osu2 and BIG portal news. The only info on Oregon was within articles about how osu2 was going to take Oregon down. A 2nd Oregon victory will create a seismic shift at the top end of the BIG. A shift that no one expected except DL. He warned them that they needed to adapt to Oregon football. I will not be disappointed if the Ducks lose the Rose Bowl. Beating a team twice in same season is a tall order. Especially a team that was ranked #1 earlier this season..... Georgia handled Texas twice and now OBD's must handle osu2, again. Thats the path to the Natty. Most people, pundits, bloggers, mouth pieces and honks are picking the Buckeyes to win. They tout revenge, pride and somehow the Buckeyes are now at the top of their game. Did they forget the Michigan game already? Those thoughts could very well be true. However, the Bucknuts are now a roadlock or speedbump on OBD's journey to a national title. That cannot be overlooked. Day, Howard and Buckeyes tou may have a problem because DL and his players don't listen to that outside baloney.... GO DUCKS....... 1
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 5 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:32 PM Their hubris (Ohio State) going into the first game was the edge Oregon needed. With all this stuff said and written...I'm thinking Oregon just may have that edge back again. Ohio State and their fans are sounding the same as they were coming into Autzen in October... 1 Mr. FishDuck

OregonDucks No. 7 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:52 PM (edited) I will be disappointed if Oregon loses in the Rose Bowl or doesn't win the National Championship Game this year because they are just as talented and experienced as any team in the country. I LOVE this team and watching them play for each other and represent the University of Oregon. This is a special group. All I ask is that they play their game and leave it all out on the field. No regrets. GO DUCKS!!! Edited Wednesday at 07:52 PM by OregonDucks 1

I know the first thing Lanning will say should the Ducks lose will be. "I need to coach better." There won't be any excuses, he'll give credit to osu2, congratulate the team, and get back to work. 1 1
The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 10 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:37 PM If the game is close into the fourth quarter, Day's collar will start feeling tighter and Lanning's eyes will start getting wilder. With that said, I like our chances. 1

GatOrlando No. 13 Share Posted yesterday at 12:55 AM There are programs that will now be threats every year. With the portal presenting teams with large collectives a chance to just plug holes to cover for recruiting misses. Oregon, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, Alabama and Notre Dame have well funded collectives that will make the gap get bigger and bigger. Ole Miss had a all out push. That's one of the reasons they are so upset about failing. They've never been to a playoff or even an SECG. Kiffin got a sizeable raise and was using the potential Florida opening to get another(no thanks btw). If he can't get over the hump than people are going to start wondering if he is anything more than a good but not great coach. He was spouting off about Ohio State and their 20 million dollar investment while grabbing up every transfer his own collective could generate. Maybe he should've donated some of his nearly ten million dollars annually through an alias and keep that away from his ex wife's allimony cougar searching for a cub fund. Things are going to get worse as Tennessee is at around 14 million and that's considered mid level now. Lane is going to need even more than his X whining to catch up to what Indiana has at their disposal. Forget Oregon, Michigan, Penn State Oregon Ohio State. I don't have to tell my friends here any of this, but Lane has been extremely lucky to have Auburn and Florida being train wrecks. Well Florida had a warchest prepared to buy out Billy and go after a proven winner. That money is now going to the transfer portal. We've raised FSU and Miami. Took a serviceable receiver from UCLA, a five star from Oregon and are the favorites to land one from Texas. You saw Lagway when Elijah Badger was our best weapon. I'm not ashamed to say I'm excited. This isn't a Florida board, sorry it's been ten years guys . My point is I don't see a program like Oregon or Ohio State collapsing at all. Oregon is returning to the playoff for the first time in nine years. I don't see them missing more than a couple in the next decade. Maybe none if the B1G starts campaigning for more teams like the SEC is. This Rose Bowl is going to be round two of Apollo vs Rocky. Except neither team is an underdog. Seems like it should be round two between Boise and Oregon. That would be more Rocky vs Apollo. Oh well, let's just enjoy the show. 1 1 3
