December 30, 2024Dec 30 With the two teams matched so well, this game could easily be a high scoring offensive display, a low scoring defensive battle, or anywhere in between. Whoever scores first and when may ultimately determine who carries the momentum. This is what college football should be! With all that being said, I think it will be a squeaker: 31-28 Oregon

December 30, 2024Dec 30 My gut thinks this will be a close game like last time. But just for fun the Ducks find their mojo midway in the 3rd qtr and pull out a 38-24 win.
December 30, 2024Dec 30 It is truly time for OBD's to play a full 60 minute game, in all 3 phases of the game, that leaves no doubt. Alex, this should be the first of 3 statement games for the Ducks. It would de difficult to measure how much energy was exerted by the buckeyes in their statement win over the Vols. After the embarrassing loss at home to Michigan they needed a validation game to save Day's job and Buckeye pride. (Arrogance and entitledment) I ask myself at what mental, emotional and physical price did that come? Barring key ingame injuries or mistakes while knocking the rust off..... Ducks 45-31 over osu2........ GO DUCKS!
December 30, 2024Dec 30 37-35 I think OSU will end up with more yards on offense and more touchdowns than us, but... Our FG kicker is better than theirs, so they will end up with wasted drives, turnover on downs because day doesn't trust his FG kicker. Dan will take points on 4th down in the red zone, trusting his Defense to get stops.

December 30, 2024Dec 30 I can't but help see the parallels between Ohio St. this year on their revenge tour against Oregon and Oregon's revenge tour last year against Washington. I think they end the same way and Oregon will show the nation why they are #1. I'm fascinated to see if our front 5-6 can control the line of scrimmage like they have much of the season and numerous times against Ohio St. in October. I'm looking for run stuffs, pressure on Howard, and batted balls at the line of scrimmage. When was the last time we Duck fans have had the privilege leaning on our defense to win big games for us? What a joy! On offense, Gabriel continues to shine brightest on the biggest stages and Oregon has the most versatile offense in the country. Ohio St. has a great defense, but Oregon is not like the others. My biggest concern is Oregon's offensive performance against Ohio St. in the red zone. After two early touchdowns in our first game, we went 0-3 scoring touchdowns from inside the 10 yard line - two drives stalling inside the 2 yard line. As much as I'd love to see Oregon put their stamp on this one, there is just not much separation between these teams. Oregon 31-27. Edited December 30, 2024Dec 30 by mikethehiker
December 30, 2024Dec 30 38-28 Ducks I think that we will see OSU trying several "trick plays" to steal some points in the game. If Oregon can defend those plays, then we could see the score open up even more. Day & Chip know Oregon is too good to just out play them with a regular game plan. I'm sure Oregon has some plays of their own to bring to the table! 😉
