GatOrlando No. 4 Share Posted January 5 They got the revenue from the Fiesta as well. Maybe a reason to tank next year.

To be clear, the revenue comes to them from the Rose Bowl no matter who is playing in it. It is a contract with the Pac-12 for this and next year remaining. I forgot about this, and the stealing never stops... Mr. FishDuck

Thieving Beavs. We chose to walk away from it, knowing what we were leaving behind and knowing what we were getting in the B1G. We thought (and still think) that what we were getting is worth what we left behind. Therefore, I have no ill will towards anyone in the PAC 2. My opinion - it was the Duck's choice and they are happy with it... so am I (except I'd rather still be in the old PAC 12). Everyone else is entitled to their opinion. 1 1

Agreed. But now--I am happier in the B1G, as with the way everything is changing--you need to be in one of the Super-Conferences or you get left behind. I love our exposure, and again--the time zone thing is REAL, and was working against the Pac-12, big-time. If we went with the Apple deal...streaming only? NOBODY would be watching us. Heck the Pig-2 would get more coverage on the CW than Pac-12 streaming would bring, IMHO. It worked out the best for us... The Pig-2 can play by themselves... 2 1 Mr. FishDuck
DuckHeart No. 9 Share Posted January 5 (edited) Seems pretty much to be a simple matter of contract law. Can't believe that Mullens did not know this would happen. Ducks made the decision to go to the Big 10 knowing the consequences. I'm OK with that. Edited January 5 by DuckHeart

Undefeated in the old Pac-12 would not have. No.1 recruiting class, B1G, wouldn't have happened in the Pac. Nix did come to the Ducks in the Pac, but the prestige of being in the B1G means a lot now. Pac-12 was Pac-12 After Dark as far as credibility. 1

This so-called 'Settlement' was made by the learned conference presidents after consulting with ... Larry Scott? A/K/A a decision by the same FOOLS or their doppelgangers, who allowed the conference to crater. I'm with Charles, happy to be B1G but this was a giveaway when no exit fee was required by contract. Trying to make sense of THIS is like trying to solve the Riemann Hypothesis but you only get $1M for solving Riemann instead of the whole Pie, Man, when you 'negotiate' with the Pac-10 Simple Simons. Is there a lawyer in the Out House? BTW - The negatory vote of the Pac-(1)2 is all that is necessary to keep the PO format 'as is' until 2026-27.
PittDuck No. 13 Share Posted January 6 So with Oregon State and Washington State being joined by Fresno State, Boise State, San Diego State, Utah State, Colorado State, and Gonzaga, will the PAC12 be awarded an automatic qualifying spot next year? With 5 of them being former Mountain West, it doesn’t seem like whey should, but I have not heard???
Tandaian No. 14 Share Posted Monday at 05:07 PM No conference is awarded an automatic qualifying spot. The new look PAC doesn't have 8 teams, so they aren't considered a true conference. Once the PAC gets 8 football teams, then they are a conference and then if they are 1 of 5 top ranked conference champions, then they get an automatic bid to the CFP.
Washington Waddler Moderator No. 15 Share Posted Monday at 07:47 PM Have to agree with all the outrage. All the spurious logic and questionable legality that allows the Beavers to get something for nothing has gotten so bad the only comparison I can think of is Colin Firth’s description of his singing voice as, “somewhere between a drunken apology and a plumbing problem.” 1
