Yeah this one hurts a bit, Out of high school, it was Georgia vs. OSU and Georgia won that one on signing day. Wilson played behind a sure fire first round pick this year and would have been the guy had he chosen to stick around next year. Now he will go to Columbus and have to learn a new defensive scheme which may slow his development further and necessitate a return for a fourth year to get where he ultimately wants to be. I'm told he is a good kid though and wish him all the best.

My guess is that if he was going to start at Georgia next year yet leaves to go to Ohio State, this is probably a pure example of a financial bidding war.

This one doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

By all accounts, he would be the projected starter next year for a team that puts a lot of players in the NFL, for what I would assume would be a national title contender. I’m sure Georgia pays as much NIL as any team. He’s also from Florida, so it’s not like he’s transferring to play closer to home.

The sources I have tell me no. But I agree this is a puzzling move for a guy who would have been a surefire starter at a program that puts mucho defenders on NFL rosters, often 2-3 a year.

Maybe he had a falling out with someone on the coaching staff (e.g., his position coach)?

Please report back if you learn the reason because this one is puzzling. Just more reason for you to hate Ohio State and root for the Ducks!

He has the kind of size and speed we lack.  Only Devon Jackson is close to this guy’s talent level and size.

‘’That is exactly why I don’t like the defense Lupoi and Lanning run.  They don’t have the prototypes to execute that type of system.

OBD LBs -played well this year.  Especially for what they are expected to do.  Better use of their skill sets would make them even more productive in my opinion.  They are not capable of what this guy can do.

Boettcher is an all time Duck, he left it all on the field. He says he has "unfinished business". We saw what Cody Simon , LB, Ohio State can do in the Rose Bowl. It's what, it looks like Wilson will be doing at Ohio State next year. If Devon Jackson is close to matching Simon & Wilson, OBD will be getting closer to where Ohio State and Georgia are.

I love Boettcher.  And he might scale up to Simon’s level.  If he is used properly.  He’s a heat seeking missile.  Now if he does exactly what he did to get his one interception this year (watch the tape-you know what I’m talking about), the only time a QB will go his way if he is a step slow like he was in that exact play.

However, if he does cover the guy ‘properly’ like that, QBs will hardly throw his way because BB will take away that option.  And he already has the instinct to cover well.  He just need to keep his eyes off the QB.

I thought BB and Jackson were by far our best LBs this year.  Now we need four more with their skill level and performance ability.  Tweak the defense to suit their strengths and voila, we’ll have a top five defense for real ( if and only if they straighten out their coverage rules-which Penn State and Ohio State exposed for the universe to see-those players are better than the instructions they are given to cover guys).

I got some information tonight that the separation from Georgia was a little salty and may well have been NIL related after all.  It is also unclear where he might end up as Damon wants guarantees about usage and playing time that some schools are not willing to sign off on. I have to admit that I don't know how reliable his information is, but it is surprising to me at least that he hasn't found a new home yet given his upside as a player.

Now that Bryce Boettcher is returning to pair with veteran Devon Jackson at inside linebacker, I'd be surprised if Oregon pursues a linebacker now.

Well, let’s hope it sticks.  Kids getting ‘stupid’ with demands can take that to the NFL.

This guy is good, but damn, does he really think this is really NFL land.  I don’t want T to hear that Latree Spreewell nonsense (I got kids to feed).

This isn’t Wall Street.  Get your agent to sign some contracts for you outside NIL ( make him earn his money damn it).

Greed is not good…

When a group of folks are willing to pay Carson Beck $4M, a guy who kind of went MIA in 2024, is there a ceiling?

The House Settlement establishes a 'NIL Clearing House.' Seven Deloitte employees will determine whether an NIL deal is within 'Market Value.' THIS will end lawsuits? 🤣

Sorry, but market value = what you can wring out of the 'market'. The market includes savvy folk and idiots.

It's a CFB transfer 'seller's market" and in such a market you will find many the sucker.

Yep, it goes back to the long used cliche saying, “something is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it”.  Every situation is unique, but it’s hard to blame a talented kid for trying to take advantage his earning potential.  A bird in hand and all that.
