in 5-12 games so far, 12's are up 2-1, McNeese over Clemson, Colorado State over Memphis. Michigan beat UCSD, Oregon will even it up with a win over Liberty.

Started out shooting great, but got to keep it going!  The rebounding advantage over the course of the game will be huge...

Almost halftime and 39-20, DUCKS.

The ducks are dominating like they should. One of the announcers said defending the three was going to be important. So far so good.

44-20 Ducks at halftime. Not to nitpick, but this Ducks team is the worst I've ever seen at defending in the paint. Ducks are shooting 55%, started off 18-2, so that's great. I agree with Altman, should get the ball inside to Bittle more.

Really too bad that Bamba can't shoot from outside or at the rim.   go ducks

Defense has been outstanding.  Nice job Ducks.  They gave up a few back cuts, but you can live with that when you take away the three ball from a team like Liberty.

Coming out strong is the best way to make sure a lower seed doesn't even think they can win. Crushing their spirit right out of the gate.

Has anyone watched an Arizona game this year?

Almost every one, since my wife is a diehard Wildcat.

Behind the 8-Ball, No Way! 8 out of 8 B1G teams advance to the 2nd round. 😍

The SEC has 8 teams advancing, 57% of the 14 SEC teams in the field. 😁

OBD gave Liberty tourney death in a game that was over when the last note of The National Anthem sounded in Seattle. 🍻

TURN WILDCATS INTO MILD CATS! Make AZ play like used kitty litter. 🤪

Their game against Akron, 93-65, looked a lot like this one.

My opinions:

I think it is a very difficult draw for Oregon.  They are going to need to play their best game of the year to win this game.

Shelstad has struggled all year against taller, athletic PGs.  That is exactly what AZ has in Love.  Advantage AZ.

Bradley plays a lot but doesn’t necessarily shoot it well from deep.  He is a slasher that can finish around the rim.  Key will have his work cut out for him on defense.  Maybe slight advantage AZ.

KJ Lewis is their Bamba. He is physical, but a much better shooter than Bamba and finishes through contact around the rim. Bamba is a better defender, so maybe a wash here?

Awaka and Bryant can shoot it from anywhere, like Angel. But they are more athletic.  KJ Evans is a better matchup, but when Angel is in the game, this looks like advantage AZ. With KJ in, it might be more even.

Bittle is better on both ends than Vaaseer, but not by a ton.  Advantage Oregon.

They have very good bench strength like Oregon, with 9 players logging more than 15 minutes a game. Townsand is very good and Dell Orso shoots better than 40% from three.  Probably even.

Tommy Loyd is a great coach, but I think Altman is better.  Slight advantage Oregon.

Just opened at Oregon +5.5, which seems about right.  Will be interesting to see if and where it moves.

Luke Jackson made the comment that he believes Oregon can do well with Arizona. The ducks played well, their defense was excellent. Nice to see them getting some dominant wins, hope it continues.

Sometimes Love can go off the rails a little bit and will take some questionable shots.  Let’s hope he has one of those games.

Was hoping to get to 100 and keep them under 50. Not at the beginning, just as the game got out of hand.  On the bright side, we have a new mortal enemy in Liberty (See Fiesta bowl).  I didn't realize Ritchie McKay was their coach and couldn't remember why I remembered the name Ritchie McKay. Oh yeah, didn't do so well at OSewe. Great game by the Ducks. I hope they play as well on Sunday.

After last night and last year's Fiesta Bowl, the Liberty Flames should never want to hear the words "Oregon Ducks" again!

Oregon's point guard led the Ducks both in scoring and in effort.

Love the defensive effort, especially the West Linn grad Shelstad!

The phrase "Altman's never lost in the first round with the Ducks" never gets old.

I attended the evening session.

Great result and Oregon had fun, with things to clean-up:  offensive off ball fouls, securing the ball, not a lot of offense box out rebounds.

When starters were pulled, they really had fun watching the deep bench back ups playing and scoring. You could see this team is tight and supports each other.

Not as high a % of Duck fans as I expected, there were more from Arizona.  And while Oregon fans cheered for Arizona in the first game, the Arizona fans booed Oregon loudly.  I felt that to be poor form. UW fans also added to the booing as expected.  But many were incognito. Their UW gear hidden under coats as if embarrassed to rep their team (last place finishes in 18 team conference do that).   Laughable that the booing stopped after that 18-2 opening salvo and the cat and dog fans shut up rest of the way.

Arizona looked REALLY GOOD.  They make the open and contested 3s that Liberty bricked.  Have good inside paint offensive presence.  Ducks can win but will be a big challenge.

The Duck was great as usual.  At a TV timeout he played “mud” by wrapping his seated legs and arms around a security guard’s ankles who had to be positioned on the court.  Stayed there the whole time-out.  So funny.
