Jon Joseph Moderator No. 1 Share Posted November 10, 2021 KT is #1 on The Athletic's top 50 CFB players eligible for the draft. But the Pac-12 has only 5 players including KT in the the top 50.

Duck 1972 No. 3 Share Posted November 10, 2021 PAC is at huge disadvantage in recruiting top talent because we as a conference have trouble getting 5/4 stars out of the rest of the country. (Cristobal is trying, but still?) Our population centers of Seattle/California have to be divided between all the West Coast teams and of course the traitors who go back east. The rest of power 5 college football has better exposure which is what top players want so they have best chance to get drafted. You also have the nearness for family and friends to watch them. This is why I believe we will have problems now and in the future.

Which is why Oregon should never lose a conference game again? Nah, USC, back when they were coached by Ducks, McKay, Robinson had MUCH more talent than any team in the Pac-8, and they lost. Carroll's Trojans teams lost. Clemson still has 5 stars all over their team, and is fighting to get Bowl eligible. Alabama is the definition of unique For a bit there people were thinking that Dabo and Clemson might have taken over. Nope. Saban is the GOAT all over and this is a down year at 'Bama, Oregon is the cream of the Pac-12, which is not the same as rising to the top of the SEC, where Alabama lost to Texas A & M. According to metrics that should not have happened, accordingly Oregon should win the rest of their games.

Carroll's USC teams didn't run the table in the Pac-12, and Utah wasn't in the conference at the time, but the Utes beat "Bama.

The Conference can't hold on to the 5-stars in our own footprint for starters. Oregon has managed to grab a few and USC has managed to hold onto a few... but otherwise all of them are leaving and going east. If we only held onto our own 5-stars it would be a huge improvement. Makings Oregon making the playoff this year even more important. At least at that point 5-stars may stay in the conference and just head to Eugene instead. Better for the Ducks and the conference at that point.

But Bama on Saturday, at home, won a last possession-contested game against an LSU team that was rolled by the UCLA run game. And the Bruins bashed LSU before the LSU D was devastated by injuries. 2 first round and 1 second round draft pick off the LSU D played vs UCLA, but did not play vs Bama. Haywarduck Moderator No. 9 Share Posted November 10, 2021 That is because we have sc selling we should be good, the dawgs selling we use to be good, ucla selling we are prettier than the rest, WSU selling we are farther away from the rest, osu selling we are lunch pail tough, Cal selling wow, we are in California, Stanford just selling to the smart kids, and the Arizona schools just selling climate and comfort, while Utah just develops 3* talent, which I respect, and Colorado, who knows. Oregon is the only college which really stand out to recruits and is committed to winning with the facilities and coaches to compete. We need sc to realize they really should be good, and start to compete. The rest don't matter, because, as we all know the dogs never were really good, and the rest can just get lucky every once in a while. We need sc and Oregon to dominate and create a unique name out west. Until then football out west will just be an annoyance to the real ball being played east of the Mississippi. As has been stated, the next few years will be critical for Oregon to really step up, and or sc to come alive and make a game of it. 1
