Beavers are a special animal. Their ability to terraform land is second to none. Studies have shown the most effective solution to increase plant life and wetland in threatened habitats is to leave the construction equipment at home and just drop off a pair of beavers.

Minot State is coached by an Oregon native and former Civil War winning OSU Beaver QB named Ian Shields. He was also the OSAA player of the year in 1988.

They may be great environmental engineers.

But don't let them build / rebuild an athletic conference.

Bemidji and Minot will face each other on Sept. 27. Even if both lose Sept. 20, the 0-fer Beavers would come to an end.
