The score does not reflect how much Tulsa dominated OSU. I knew they were bad, but they are worse than bad. Getting embarrassed by your runt little bro at home for the first time in 70 years is next level down stuff. I don't expect Gundy to survive the weekend let alone the week. Getting embarrassed by your runt little bro at home for the first time in 70 years is next level down stuff. I don't expect Gundy to survive the weekend let alone the week. They should have fired him last year, but they still worship the guy and allowed him to fire everyone and take a pay cut. I’d be surprised if they fire him before he “resigns” at the end of the year. They aren’t serious about winning beyond making a bowl game imo.
Saturday at 04:46 PM3 days No. I could see everyone around the program being done with Gundy. But if Gundy feels like he wants to stay it might be difficult to get rid of him. I don't know what his buyout is but if it's too high and he doesn't want to leave himself OK State might not be able to get rid of him at this time. With the Beavers in know they couldn't get rid of Mike Riley as every time he went 6-6 he got an automatic contract extension and his buyout effectively grew. Riley was a good enough coach to reach a bowl game almost every year so he seemed to do the Beavers a favor by opting to leave and go to Nebraska... Who paid them! Come to think of it Riley did the Beavers a big favor and it might have been intentional. He leaves and gets the Beavs out of his contract with a pay day from Nebraska. As for Gundy, it might take a few weeks if Ok State doesn't have the funds on hand right now to buy him out. They'll have to figure out where to get the money as many contracts require a substantial payout upon being fired.
Saturday at 05:06 PM3 days Moderator No. Tough to win when in today’s version of D1 football when you have no money to compete. Tough to pay bills when nobody wants to buy tickets to watch your imploding football program.Firing the coach sounds good, but you are hoping the new coach can sell season tickets, but still have no money for the new staff to recruit.Dismantling the football program when the state just floated $45 million in bonds on your stadium is not a good look for the rodents.

I guess it took a little bit to get all the ducks in a row. Ducks are certainly a problem for OkieSU..
2 hours ago2 hr No. Oregon didn't break Mike Gundy. Mike Gundy and/or OSU's refusal to recognize the new reality of NIL broke him....btw He's a man, he's 58.

But getting absolutely embarrassingly demolished by Oregon in week 2 probably did him in before the more recent loss. Oregon didn't truly break Jimmy Lake either... But it is amusing to make a list of coaches who played Oregon and then were fired before the end of the season.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Firing Gundy like this is really low-class act by that OSU - the guy has been there for 20 mostly good years! He is hardly the biggest reason for the program's failure. They need more NIL money! I don't think changing the HC will change that dynamic. Same exact situation at the Rodents. They only way they can be competitive is to move to FCS!I hope WS waits till the end of the season to make a move. The openings right now are pretty unimpressive. Besides the money, why would he move now? Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by DuckFan93

IMO, nobody with options is willingly choosing to move to Stoolwater 😜UCLA is on the rise with NIL spending, right coach there could make some waves. Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by JabbaNoBargain
