Unfortunately we are ranked #17 out of the 18 Big Ten Universities academically by the latest US News and World Report. I am very happy to have my degree from The University of Oregon. I almost went to USC.

The Big-10 is the elite academic and sports conference, and our placing could be "relative" compared to other conferences, such as the SEC. It reminds me of when people in Alabama are scolded about how the mortality and literacy stats for their state are near the bottom of the nation. Their answer?

"At least we're not Mississippi!"

It's so bad that people from Springfield have occasionally been able to get into UO.

I'm a manager that hires from time to time and all the B1G school carry prestige for their graduates.

At least we're accredited unlike Nebraska, the only team below them.

Oregon is a great university, it just so happens the conference you joined has some of the best institutions in the country. Top to bottom, it's great schools. But if you want to be higher than you are, just let West Virginia and Utah in and you'll be up on three schools.
