Lane to Florida, Lane to LSU, Lane to make a decision Saturday, Lane to make an early morning decision Sunday, Lane wants to go to LSU but remain as coach of Ole Miss thru the playoffs, Lane who has an ego bigger than all of college football. Rant off.

Auburn has hired South Florida's Alex Golesh as its new coach. Golesh, who went 23-15 over three seasons at USF, will get a six-year deal, sources told ESPN.

Honestly, I am not sure that Lane could have handled this situation any worse. How about his tweet today? Ole Miss won’t let me coach in the playoffs! No way, really? That is shocking! 😂. Considering that he is an “offensive genius”, he certainly is not a genius on handling job changes.

Lane is making a big mistake. He's helped build Ole Miss up to a solid CFP team, why leave now? LSU is no guarantee of success...Ed Orgeron won a freaking national champion for them but was fired just 2 years later. Brian Kelly was fired after just 3 1/2 seasons and LSU tried to withhold his $54 million buy out, only agreeing to pay it after Kelly filed a lawsuit.

I'm also going to guess that like a lot of other programs with a history of championship success, there's a ton of meddling by boosters. 🤷‍♂️

I’m very open to the CFB calendar being an issue here with the coaching mess. However, Kiffin exited the Raiders, Vols, and USC jobs under similar dynamics. Show me a person with 4 brutal divorces that blames everyone else, and I’ll show you a person in need of a mirror.

This is where they need to re-exam the rules. Coaching carousel windows, portal windows etc. If coaches swap after the windows, players can't transfer that year. (Death of a coach in May or he gets arrested and fired in April or something weird). Make the whole mess start only after the last playoff and bowl games are done. Make the playoffs and bowls all done by January 2nd so kids can get into the new school for the new semester. Lots of things to figure out. If Ole Miss roster is decimated for the playoffs because of this... that's just not right

Tosh isn’t the best defensive coordinator, IMO, but he is a fantastic recruiter. Coach Lanning has quite a track record with sending d-lineman to the NFL going back to his Georgia days himself and it will be important to find a DL coach who is a great recruiter and developer. I have no doubt that he will be able to find good coaching talent. Hopefully this does not affect our current recruiting commitments.

I am so intrigued by the idea that DeBoer is actually going there but is staying quiet until the end of the season, it doesn't make any sense due to recruiting, but I would love the circus that would follow.

Has there been any rumors about what direction they are going?
