Beaver Just Couldn’t Handle Being a Duck

Second one in two years. He likely knows it’s best to go get some film and stats at a place where he can play, so he can transfer to a better school later. That’s how it works these days.

Sorry to see him go, better for AS Jr. Wonder if DR is next having seen the way his inital recruiting went?

No.

I wonder if we'll see him in a Kentucky uniform.

No.

Yeah with Moore and Raiola here now we may see others leave as well playtime likely locked up for 2 to possibly 3 years, cant blame them at all

No.

Too many QBs in the room ahead of him. I agree that Kentucky is a likely destination.

No.

Was he expecting to start this year?

I mean I doubt he was thinking that.

So why not stay a year and develop and see if you stand a good chance at starting the next season? You'll know where you stand by the time the portal opens up in a year.

It what it is... I won't get too worked up about it.

Remember when Masoli was something like a no star guy and beat everyone out for the starting job?

Masoli had a strong fighter vibe. Beaver does not come across with that kind of confidence.

Beaver should have thought it out before joining the Ducks. If he wasn't going to come to practice for a season and compete on the practice field, he should have committed elsewhere.

Oregon has turned into a top 5 kind of program recently. They were there for a while under Chip Kelly and now they are back to that level. Oregon should be getting 5 star QBs to play for them. They just recently got three of them through the portal.

I think it's interesting that Novosad didn't go to Kentucky. Stein must know something we don't.

Bryson was fine waiting his turn until Raiola signed. That alone pretty much guarantees he would sit 3 years. You're right about playing time, he has to have it. Better to play at a smaller school for 2 years than sit for 2 or 3.

Maybe a Pac(St)eight team.

I think there is some truth to that. While I realize Novosad got hurt early in the season, I think it was telling about what DL said regarding Brock Thomas’ work ethic and earning his way to backup.

This is why I don’t get attached to names (even when hilariously ironic) before they play.

I also find it interesting how fans assume a certain level of loyalty from players (to coaches) that just isn’t always there. Would you automatically uproot and go to Kentucky when you were good enough to be recruited by OBD? Gross. Visit any Beavis site and you can see the disappointment taking hold as their fans begin to understand they aren’t getting a dozen players from Alabama in the portal.

As to Novosad, I wish him well, but if he wasn’t good enough to be QB2 with OBD he’s probably not good enough to start in the SEC…even if it’s Kentucky.
