Coaching staff recruiting hard to keep in-state talent at home.  Heavy favorite for No. 1 recruit In the state of Oregon.

Dan Lanning wants to keep the best talent in Oregon, in Oregon. It looks like he’s doing a good job of that.

Commitment date set for Thursday, October 27th.

San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln linebacker David Peevy has locked in his commitment date and will announce later this week.

How many more Miami games is Portland's Riley Williams going to watch before he transfers back to Central Catholic from Miami IMG and decommits from Mario?

Credit to Matt Prehm at 247 for dangling this enticing possibility.

More likely he decommits from Miami and looks elsewhere rather than transferring back to Central Catholic. The school year is already underway and the football season almost over.

And, Oregon crystal balls for Iapani Laloulu, 4-star OL from Hawaii; along with Justin Williams, 4-star LB from Texas.

A.J. Pugliano has the size at 6'4", 220 lbs for a collegiate TE and he's just a HS senior.  Could reach 6'5" or more.  Hope Oregon can land him - sounds like they may have already.

As far as David Peevy goes, it sounds like UW or USC are on the inside track.  Peevy was scheduled to visit Oregon last weekend (but didn't) and if College Game Day and the Game of the Week in the Pac wasn't enough to get him here, it sounds like O has already dropped off his list.  Un-officially.  But, who knows?

What about more Linemen ?!

Oregon has the inside track on Iapani Laloulu, that kid is 6'2" and 350+ lbs, 4* OG.  Once he slims down to 310-320, he'll be a great road-grader on the line.

Pugliano is a 2024 recruit so he is what?  16? 17?  Pretty good measurables.

Pugliano just committed. Nice start for 2024.

Lanning's indicated he wants to try and get as many in-state (worthy) recruitsas possible and if USC & UCLA continue to see an upswing in their programs it might be necessary.  Always like the in-state kids over others, for obvious reasons.  But you gotta get the best you can get to stay competitive, wherever they are.
