Not understanding that last long drive. It reminded me of Mario ball. I get trying to run the clock but if they throw a little they score easy and go up 2 scores. The coaches out thought themselves this whole game.

Man, and that secondary is atrocious. I don't think I've seen it this bad.

Well to be honest he's going to have to take some heat for that. Lot of questionable decisions by him and his staff tonight. First time we've seen some inexperience since Georgia. They'll learn from this and be better.

My question is if you don't have any confidence in your backup to move the ball. Why not try Butters out?

Who thought we’d be this good so early in his career. He’s got a learning curve, too. Still a damn good coach. Hate losing to Husky’s though. There is a reason why no team has won nine straight PAC-12 conference games. The mistake was scheduling Georgia in essence at home. Without that we’d still be in the running. No more hard non-conference games.

Up until Nix got injured due to a dirty hit to his leg, that drive would have resulted in a TD and the game would've been out of reach for UW.

Lanning 'anxious' to hear further explanation on illegal touching penalty

Late in Oregon's comeback bid to beat No. 25 Washington, Bo Nix found Troy Franklin down the

left sideline for a crucial first down to the 20-yard line to set up the game-tying field goal.

Franklin was called for illegally touching the football. Illegal touching is officially defined as, "on a forward pass,

the receiver steps out of bounds and doesn't re-establish himself in bounds before catching the pass."

The lone exception to this rule is if a player is pushed out of bounds before the reception, which Franklin believes he was.

Instant reactions from Oregon's shocking loss at home to rival Washington

The Huskies shocked the Pac-12 and certainly the Ducks by coming into Autzen Stadium as a

double-digit underdog and outplaying the Oregon Ducks from nearly start to finish.

The lasting impacts of this game will be felt for the rest of the year. The Ducks are now 8-2 on the season

I wasn't sold on MariØ's coaching from yrs, 1- 4.  As for DL, we shall see...  I can't see him making all these reckless calls and having a long and illustrious career, especially trying for the second onside kick within four games. The same beef that I had with MariØ not challenging some of those calls, I'm seeing the same lack of situational awareness by DL.

Neel: Oregon's shortcomings sting now, but could lead to positives down the road

This Oregon team has some real flaws if you care to look past the explosive offense, Heisman Trophy-caliber quarterback,

and dominating rushing attack. A few minutes of focused attention on the other side of the ball will make that very apparent.

The Ducks have talent on that side of the ball, to be clear, but they’ve fallen short of putting it all together just yet.

Everything we projected for the Ducks before this season is still very attainable. They are two wins away from making it to the

Pac-12 Championship, and should they win that game, they will appear in the Rose Bowl during Lanning’s first season in Eugene.

DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

Losing to Washington is never an easy pill to swallow. If you care to look, though, there may be a silver lining in all of this for the Ducks.

Report card: Secondary deficiencies finally catch up to the Ducks

Unfortunately, the loss will tend to overshadow some heroic efforts by the offense. Bo Nix showed out before he was banged up,

Bucky Irving was nearly impossible to tackle and the offensive line, also banged up, did yeoman’s work up to the very end.

But we have to grade everyone and for the first time, the coaching staff will be involved.

Oregon is no longer in first place in the Pac-12, but they still control its own destiny. Win your games at home to Utah,

Ducks giving up the deep shot at alarming rate last three weeks

Getting off the field on third down has been a struggle all season, and of late opponents

have taken off the top of the defense with alarming regularity too.

The latter has become a pressing issue after being a relative strength for most of the season. Oregon allowed just one pass

of 50 yards or more in the first seven games of the season. Five such plays have been had over the past three games.
