Will Stein's OPPOSITE OFFENSE...or a Head-Fake?
Last year, Oregon was the number one team in the nation for a good number of weeks until they weren't. This year's blitz of points brings to mind the Oregon Women's BB team's motto during the 2020 campaign... "Leave No Doubt." Maybe that is the answer. Maybe DL wants to "Leave No Doubt" as to who is the best team and where the Ducks stand among the elite teams across the nation. Maybe we will not be the best team at the end of the season, but no one will doubt how good and dominant they are. This was one of the frustrations we had with Mari-- Cristobal. He seemed to WANT to win by less than a touchdown. When you flirt with one score games too often, you are bound to lose some that you shouldn't. (Take a knee!!!) Don't let up until the game is truly over! That doesn't mean that you wait to put in more back-ups... especially when there are so many 1a/1b/1c situations! (Aren't we blessed??)

Will Stein's OPPOSITE OFFENSE...or a Head-Fake?
It is always fun to guess what Our Beloved Ducks are doing, and then seeing later how close we got. Our forum-friend, 30Duck, has tech issues and will not be able to rejoin us for a few weeks, but I spoke with him on the phone yesterday, as well as Mike West, and both gave me their thoughts on the offense that got me to wondering... What IS Will Stein up to? Thus far, he is doing the opposite of last year, whereas in 2024--he did a slow rollout of the offense that many here found pedestrian, almost boring at times. We were winning, but not winning BIG, while this year we are scoring boatloads of points, and showing stuff you would not think would appear until a big play in a much bigger game. What do YOU think is going on? Do you think he and Lanning decided to "go-for-it," as some games, (like the Rose Bowl last year) require a ton of scoring to win the game? Or that he is just messing with the Penn State DC in advance to make their preparation that much more difficult...and Stein pulls out new stuff for them? Or is this a head-fake and Stein reins the offense back in again...to keep opposing DCs guessing? I love what we've seen, but wonder what the bigger plan is the entire season, and what they're doing now--how it plays into their overall plan?

Why is Big Noon Kickoff going to Northwestern?
Thanks Jon. Sometimes there's a blessing hidden in the dark and that blessing just may turn out to be the fact that Billy just isn't a P4 coach. I don't get why guys think they can be offensive coordinators and head coaches in the SEC or B1G. Steve Sarkasian is doing the same thing but he is a much better coordinator than Napier ever could dream of. The guy has turned DJ Lagway into Graham Mertz 2.0 in one off-season. My only hope is we don't hire Lane Kiffin. We need a guy with discipline that won't live in the transfer portal. Maybe we saw our head coach on the opposite sideline this past Saturday.

The Ducks Have Roster Depth Like Never Before
yeah, Im probably a newer fan than most on here. Started liking the Ducks around Dennis Dixon senior year. I will say Ive never seen the Ducks with this much quality depth ever. Ive been literally in shock the past 2 weeks to actually see how Lannings first "full" recruiting class (2023) has turned out mixed with the newbies of course

Would Moore of Moore to Moore this Saturday work for you? Northwestern is on the verge of entering Dante's Seventh Circle. 😁 Waste the Wildcats!

Why is Big Noon Kickoff going to Northwestern?
Go Dawgs. SEC starts to separate on Saturday after Kentucky almost took down Kiffin back-to-back. Vandy at South Carolina should be a very interesting game. And down the road for Georgia lies Georgia Tech, a team that could Wreck Clemson's season on Saturday. GO Dawgs!

- 27.5 / O/U Vegas Insider Consensus 48.5 They're not playing in Wrigley, but Oregon pitches a shutout, +750 NW's best RB is out for the rest of the season. NW Preston Stone to date - 4 picks, 3 TDs. Sorry about last Saturday, my friend. It turned out to be a Trap with USF coach Alex Golesh turning Billy Napier into Gator Goulash. A spitty effort in the Swamp. 🤬

Oregon Football: Did We Underestimate Dakorien Moore?
I’m always cautiously optimistic when it comes to high school recruits, particularly at the skill positions. Any Oregon fan who follows recruiting and has been around for a little while, can list a number of blue chip, 5-star prospects that either didn’t pan out or took a couple of years to develop. Cameron Colvin came immediately to mind when Dakorien Moore signed with Oregon. Colvin was a Rivals 5-star receiver and a part of the heralded De La Salle recruiting class. He was the #3 wide receiver and #10 overall player in his recruiting class. By his senior year at Oregon, he became a solid player but never lived up to the high expectations (which aren’t fair to put on these young men). I’m glad that Dakorien Moore is showing what he can do early in his Oregon career. He is clearly a talented player that has been coached well and appears to have good football IQ. Oregon will really need him this year with the departure of Tez to the NFL and the unfortunate injury to Evan Stewart. It’s clear that Coach Stein plans to get the ball in his hands, a number of different ways.

Jayden Limar growing role for Oregon. “We actually gave an award to Jayden earlier today talking about like this is, to me, the embodiment of what our team is,” Lanning said during his Monday press conference. Lanning also said, "He's a player that we know what to expect from him when he steps on the field. He does his job, he does his assignment, he works extremely hard. Oregon Football: Expectations of Dante Moore
Through 2 games, Dante Moore has exceeded my expectations. I knew he had arm talent (that was apparent from his high school tape, particularly the HS All Star Game where he threw for 3? TDs) but I had concerns about the picks at UCLA, particularly his ability to read defenses and the vision to see defenders. Sitting last year behind DG and rebuilding his confidence made a noticeable difference in his development (credit the young man for his vision and patience). It’s clear he understands the offense and is looking to check down, instead of forcing throws. I have high hopes for Dante’s upside but we’ll have to see how he performs against elite defenses (Penn State will be a huge midterm but it’s not the final exam). Go Ducks!!!

Oregon - Northwestern Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
It will be an interesting setup for the Ducks, with the game kicking off at noon ET and 9 a.m. PT for the players. On top of that, Northwestern is hosting games inside a temporary stadium that seats about 12,000 fans while Ryan Field undergoes a massive renovation. Despite all of that, the Ducks are still projected to dominate this game, favored by 27.5 points according to FanDuel Sportsbook. While they are regarded as one of the top teams in the nation, there are some questions about Northwestern. On defense, the Wildcats have been solid, giving up just 23 points to Tulane in a Week 1 loss, and then holding Western Illinois to seven points in a win last weekend. So what will we see on Saturday? Let's break it down. What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Northwestern Wildcats defense?

Why is Big Noon Kickoff going to Northwestern?
Man this is a poor slate of BIG games! By contrast, the SEC has several games against opponents, some in conference some OOC, where both teams actually have a pulse. I am tuning in to the Ducks game until it becomes out of hand and then flipping to see if Georgia's next opponent, Bama, can begin to resurrect its season against Wisky--one if the Best BIG games this week. My Dawgs have a tough road game against Tennessee that I am not at all confident about. Plus Game Day is there and I may have an audiogenic seizure having to listen 50 times to Rocky Top should the Vowels play well.
