  2. In the midst of uncertainty, Gary Bryant’s experience stands out Evan Stewart’s injury has added to the growing uncertainty of the wide receiver depth chart this offseason. While Dakorien Moore is expected to follow in the footsteps of standout true freshmen like Ryan Williams and Jeremiah Smith before him, Oregon’s wide receiver room remains full of questions due to its youth and lack of starting experience. Plenty of names have been mentioned as potential candidates to step up in Evan Stewart’s absence—Jurrion Dickey, Malik Benson, Jeremiah McClellan, among others. But what if the answer is the veteran in the room? What if it’s Gary Bryant Jr.? In the midst of uncertainty, Gary Bryant’s experience stands out - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Oregon moves on without one of its top wide receivers Evan Stewart, will it be Gary Bryant Jr's time to shine?

  4. CBS Sports Ideas for 2026-27 PO Format How to fix the College Football Playoff: Format, schedule changes necessary with expansion on the horizon - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Tom Fornelli's complete guide to ensuring the best college football product as changes loom ahead of the 2026 season
  5. So true. So many worthless articles right now, (I still click them) but wow are some bad. I won't post the link so you don't waste your time, but this was an article from a few days ago that never presented any data or the two things that were bringing stormy skies... This was the clickbait title; Dan Lanning faces stormy skies as Oregon’s CFP dreams falter amid double blow reality check
  6. Sankey really thinks that involving other conferences at all just clutter things up. The last two seasons should be vacated due to lack of SEC participation.
  7. Not exactly "The Conference of Champions"
  8. Jon Canzano was writing this as well, as Texas State has to give notice to the big conference they belong to in the next two weeks for departure to the Pac-12. What conference are they coming from? Why the powerful Sun Belt conference, of course! That is who you choose from? Media contract is estimated to be between eight and twelve million a year to the "new" Pac-12, per school. Beavis would have been so much better off to remain in the old Pac-12, and taken a reduced payout to keep us retained. But they knew better! As Oregon is going to get 54 million this year and climbing from our media contract... Boy I'm glad we made the change! Report: Texas State 'heavy favorite' to join Pac-12, could start realignment ripple WWW.ON3.COM .
  9. Is Sankey Schizo? Didn't he call out the PO committee last season for counting losses and not quality wins? Now, the 13 experts will certainly 'Get It?' Greg Sankey explains why he's in favor of keeping College Football Playoff selection committee over computers - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Greg Sankey is in favor of a College Football Playoff selection committee over utilizing computers to figure out who the top teams are. Why not the CBB committee approach of using human beings who rely upon disclosed metrics and explain if they go 'off-metric '? 'The SEC wants guaranteed PO spots because we don't trust the committee.' 'Oops, what we really want is our champ in and 11 teams chosen at large.' 'We need to play 9 conference games?' 'Oops, considering our conference has a gauntlet like no other, 8 games is just fine.' 'Let's have an SEC vs. B1G Football Challenge!' 'Oops, maybe not?' Is he trying to drive Tony Petitti crazy?
  10. DAT has become immortal in the sense that his speed is how every player is measured. If OBD can ever get a player that fast, who can play RB and receiver...!!! Maybe the next would block better? I'd put Ahmad Rashad (Bobby Moore) from that time.
  11. Can't keep the teams straight, Omaha and Oklahoma City both start with O, it is a lot to ask, I guess.
  12. Today
  13. Phillip Fulmer was the coach at Tennessee. Fulmer went 2-7 vs. Florida and Spurrier. 2-2 vs. Spurrier at South Carolina. (Disclosure: I looked this up. )
  14. OBD, 1st on PSU and James Franklin's 2025 List - What does head coach James Franklin need to do to avoid the hot seat in 2025-26? VICTORYBELLRINGS.COM The strides made in the 2024-25 Penn State football season don't go unnoticed. If anything, they only make people expect more. For head coach James Franklin, no Danno, you just made the list, buddy. White Out! B1G Deal. PSU is overlooking the impact Charles and Company will have on this Week 5 game.
  15. That trio was my top 3 as well. One could quibble about the order but from an opponent's perspective, each of these three would make somebody's top 3. Incidentally, I once asked Champ Baily, who was drafted by the Washington Redskins, then coached by Spurrier who used to taunt the Dawgs relentlessly, what it was like to play for Spurrier. He just smiled broadly commenting that he was a great guy and all the taunting was just part of who he was. He seemed to genuinely like the guy.
  16. I was shocked to discover he was born in Miami. His father was a pastor in both Georgia and Tennessee. The Volunteers didn't recruit him because he ran something called the wing T. Jon, you know more about the history of college football than I. Was Johnny Majors the coach of Tennessee at that time?
  17. Ngata was a man and a half. I think he helped prolong Ray Lewis career in Baltimore. I remember Lewis complaining about the lack of any help after Tony Siragusa retired. I laughed because he had a guy like Ed Reed behind him, but Ray needed some space eaters up front to allow him space to disrupt running lanes or get to the QB.
  18. Football and BASEBALL!
  19. I think her play in the Olympics helped her confidence. A terrific athlete improving their game is great to watch. Caitlin Clark X'd on the US Open at Oakmont. was shown yesterday on NBC's broadcast: 'Does anyone have fun playing there? I wouldn't break 130!' Color Commentator Kevin Kisner - 'If she played from way back tees, she'd run out of ammunition before finishing her round.'
  20. A Lesson in Never Giving Up US Open champion JJ Spaun turned a free fall into a title at rain-soaked Oakmont APNEWS.COM On a day built for umbrellas, J.J. Spaun reversed his own free fall, took advantage of everyone else’s and hit two shots that turned him into a major champion.
  21. Man, Sabrina has really upped her game this year.
  22. Football and football. IMO we’ve become a “football school” but have zero titles, which is something that anyone can throw in our face and there really is no comeback for it. Basketball (both teams) would be nice as well Sad as it may or may not be, all the other sports really don’t move the needle. IMO, if you ask an average sports fan “who won the last championship?” in baseball, indoor track, etc, they’ll probably have zero idea unless their team happened to be the one.
  23. I guess these two college sports 'experts' were too Soon(ers) at the bar and stayed later than closing time? Understandable confusion, once upon a time, Nebraska was Oklahoma's biggest rival. They're two Fly Over states, who cares?
  24. This morning Perloff was talking about how the Oregon Ducks lost their game yesterday. Losing is sad, but, hey, just getting to Oklahoma is quite the accomplishment. Seriously, can't people keep the Oregon teams straight?
  25. Presumptuously jumping in. (I know, you're shocked !) For younger Gators, it has to be the iconic Tebow. For a person in advanced middle age, I'll take Steve Spurrier as the all-time greatest Gator. Steve won games for the Gators at QB and also as Florida's head coach. Steve was known coast-to-coast well before (un)social media. In 1966, Spurrier won the Heisman Trophy. The 1st time a Gator won the Stiff-Arm. (I was a senior in HS and watched Steve play ball.) Spurrier finished with a college coaching record of 228-89-2, a .718% winning percentage. He amassed this record coaching Florida, which he transformed into an SEC power, as well as at 'punching bags', Duke and South Carolina. He was the SEC COY on 5 occasions and the ACC COY twice in three seasons at Duke. In 1996, under Spurrier, Florida won its first national title in football, defeating rival No. 1-ranked FSU 52 - 20 in the Sugar Bowl. The victory was made sweeter by Florida having lost 24-21 to the Seminoles in the regular season. If you have two QBs you have too many? In 1997, Spurrier took Florida to a 10-2 second-place SEC finish behind Tennessee, alternating QBs Doug Johnson and Jesse 'The Bachelor' Palmer on every play, and occasionally, also playing QB Noah Brandise. Spurrier's O was justifiably referred to as the 'Fun N Gun.' Tebow was one of the greatest Gators, but Spurrier elevated Florida as a player and a coach. Oh, and don't forget the great one-liners. In 1993, Florida State was put on probation for agents paying for free shopping trips at Foot Locker. (I know , compared to today?) Spurrier: 'You know what FSU stands for, don't you? Free Shoes U.' Asked about a fire at the Auburn football dormitory that destroyed twenty books. 'The real shame is that 15 hadn't been colored in yet.' 'You can have good ballplayers and still not win games. All you LSU fans know that' Spurrier loved to tweak his home state of Tennessee. 'Peyton Manning came back to Tennessee for his senior year because he wanted to be the first three-time MVP of the Citrus Bowl.' 'You can't spell Citrus Bowl without UT.' I rest my case .
  26. Belichick/Hudson…I always thought Bill was more of a Stacy’s mom guy. Turns out he fell for Stacy.
