  2. I agree! I believe another three star recruit choose Oregon and he turned out rather well. As the quarterback and multisport star at Eugene’s Sheldon High School, Herbert became an ESPN three-star recruit.. His potential college destination was Portland State or maybe another division II college. Sometimes kids don't make all the elite camps, others may have had an injury which prevented being seen in those camps. Some kids may not be able to afford those all star teams and camps. If Dan Lanning and A'lique Terry want him, I'll trust them.

  4. I think I am probably alone in my distaste of someone deciding what I should wear to a game. It seems to be a thing for all sports. I know that "I" need to choose what I wear, as the combination I choose will more than likely determine the outcome of the game. ( It has nothing to do with my distaste of being told what to do)
  5. Watched his film on 24/7. Plays with an attitude and is pretty quick with good feet. Got away with some grabby stuff on several plays that would get called at the next level. Ran over DBs with ease. Undersized for a OT so even with 20 lbs added he'll be a IOL. Same HS as Pancho, maybe a center for OBD when he gets here. Good pick up and probably better than the 3☆ rating
  6. Wow, this pitching coach hire is a home run! Is that good?
  7. Sounds like a great hire... “Since arriving to San Diego in 2019, Florer has helped guide the Toreros to the most wins and highest winning percentage of any team in the West Coast Conference. In eight seasons within the WCC, Florer has developed seven All-American pitchers as well as twelve All-Conference pitchers.” “Led by one of the nation’s premier pitching staffs, San Diego ranked in the top 25 of every major pitching category (Earned Run Average, WHIP, Hits Allowed Per Nine Innings, Strikeouts Per Nine Innings, Walks Allowed Per Nine Innings, Strikeout-To-Walk Ratio, and Shutouts). The 2024 Toreros’ 41-15 (20-4 WCC) overall record was the 15th best winning percentage of any program in the country. Three of Florer’s pitchers went on to earn National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All American Honors in 2024: Conner Thurman (First Team), Austin Smith (Third Team), and Logan Reddemann (Freshman/Second Team). To tag along with these All-American accolades, Thurman was recognized as a finalist for the 2024 NCBWA Stopper of the Year, Smith was named a finalist for the 2024 John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year, and Reddemann earned the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year award. During the 2024 MLB Draft, three of Florer’s pitchers were picked up by professional organizations. Josh Randall became the highest selected collegiate pitcher from the state of California when he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the third round (85th overall pick). With Randall’s selection, Florer has helped develop California’s highest-drafted collegiate pitcher in two of the last three MLB draft classes (2022-2024). Additionally, Drake Frize was later selected in the 17th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Ivran Romero signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Twins.”

  11. The site migration that I wrote of in this Pinned Post recently, is going to occur this next weekend, Saturday July 5th, and Sunday July 6th. We will have the lockout begin at 11:30 PM Friday night July 4th, and it will continue through Sunday night July 6th. We expect things to be back up and running Monday morning the 7th for certain, and perhaps even sooner. When the site is shut down, you will see a page up that tells you it is unavailable, and you won't be able to login or see anything. PLEASE NOTE: when you want to sign back in after the migration...you have to do so with your email address, not your user name. It is one of the minor changes with the new platform. The forum should not change much in appearance, and I look to be adding some enhancements later. Many of us will have withdrawal symptoms--being away from the forum... Watch out for the splatter! But the bottom line...unlike the Scout.com site (Duck Pond) or the Rivals site, (Duck Sports Authority) your FishDuck.com and the Our Beloved Ducks Forum are still HERE after nearly 14 years! Some of you donated to help offset the significant costs of this new platform that I am required to move to, and I want to publicly thank you. If you can spare some dollars to help keep this unique community going, please go to this page, scroll down to the bottom and click on the "Donate" button and help make these changes happen. My very sincere thanks. Charles

  13. Tommy Tofi decommits; Oregon Ducks circling And there are significant rumblings that more help is on the way. On Monday, the first of those dominoes fell, as former California pledge and Farrington (Hawaii) three-star lineman Koloi Keli flipped to the Ducks. He may not be alone. Prediction: Tommy Tofi to Oregon Ducks Shortly after Keli's announcement, Archbishop Riordan (California) four-star offensive lineman Tommy Tofi, a powerful 6-6, 335 offensive tackle tweeted (deleted and re-posted) a decommitment from Cal. Tommy Tofi | Rivals.com N.RIVALS.COM Tommy Tofi - 2026 4 Star Offensive tackle for Riordan (San Francisco, CA) on Rivals.com That news comes roughly three weeks after the nation's No. 6 interior offensive lineman took an official visit to Eugene. After his early June surprise commitment to Cal, the rumblings began almost immediately that Dan Lanning's program would remain a big-time threat. That buzz continued into the weekend and gained significant steam - with the now-widely reported decommitment of Tofi as a potential nail in the coffin. All signs point to Tofi eventually committing to Oregon. Tommy Tofi decommits; Oregon Ducks circling WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM Oregon could soon snag an elite offensive lineman

  15. There have been many 3☆ who develop nicely to become great O-line players, particularly inside linemen. Welcome to our ohana Koloi Keli. Aloha

  18. Congress stepping in to help CFB and college athletics will likely require a collective bargaining agreement. Athletes are being paid directly by their school, but are not employees? Could collective bargaining be the answer for college sports? Some ADs are ready to say the quiet part out loud SPORTS.YAHOO.COM College sports is in need of a collective-bargaining solution — to avoid future litigation, create a more stable environment and because the House settlement doesn’t go far enough, according...
  19. Bryson Beaver explains Oregon commitment, new 'Platypus' nickname The 6-foot-3, 200-pound signal-caller is one of the highest-risers at any position in the country thanks to his performances at the Elite 11 Regionals and Finals. On this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec," on ESPN-affiliate 1080 The Fan, Beaver joined the show to discuss his sudden rise up the rankings, how he decided to go to Oregon and how he has suddenly earned the tongue-in-cheek nickname "Platypus" from the Oregon coaching staff. 23. Meet Bryan Seeley, the man in charge of policing the new world of college sports The revenue share era of college sports has arrived. Paychecks from schools will start to land in players' bank accounts this week. The endorsement deals that the CSC will need to vet are already pouring in. As he attempts to run an organization responsible for bringing order to a chaotic industry, Seeley has a long to-do list: hire a staff, establish investigative processes, determine fair punishment standards and build relationships across hundreds of schools and dozens of sports. Seeley finished the previous week by returning his office equipment to Major League Baseball after a decade of rebuilding and overseeing their league investigations department, which handled high-profile issues such as gambling, sexual misconduct and sign-stealing scandals on his watch. At his new job he's back to square one, which means his top priority last Monday was scrolling through Wirecutter, a product recommendation website, for advice on buying a new laptop. "This is a startup," Seeley told ESPN during an interview at the end of his first day. "It's not like I'm walking into nothing, but in many ways this is a true start-up."
