  2. At DucksWire, we needed some more information about the 2025 Penn State squad. We went directly to the source, NittanyLionsWire, and their editor, Kevin McGuire. We discussed a variety of topics from last year's title game to the White Out tradition they have in store for the Ducks. What a Nittany Lions expert has to say about the Penn State-Oregon game

  5. While we do not have an elite RB, I would not call our RB's average. I have been impressed with our depth at RB and I feel we have several very good RB's.

  7. I can't say I agree with the "so-so" characterization of our running back room, but I do agree that a clear rotation has yet to emerge so the waters are somewhat murky in that respect. Any one of our RBs could transfer and be the guy on another team, maybe not a top 10 team but at least a good one. That said I do agree with previous posts regarding the personnel shrinking as the redshirt window closes. Assuming Whittington stays healthy (big assumption) he is plenty capable of carrying this team as the #1 back. It's hard not to root for Limar, he's such a solid guy and team player but to my mind his role is still more of a backup than a bellcow. Hughes to me is still a head-scratcher, part of me thinks he may be fighting some kind of injury, he just doesn't seem that dynamic. The freshmen RBs are going to be stars IMHO. Davison is more versatile and a great blocker, so I could easily see him slide into a Jordan James type role. Hill reminds of DAT, just get him the ball in space, but between the tackles he's not at his best. Zero chance either one of them redshirts in my book. Riggs and Harris, I just don't see how they don't wind up being buried on the depth chart. Not sure how they would feel about redshirting but they're in a tough spot, I wouldn't be surprised if they hit the portal.

  9. I know this is par for the course in our new Transfer Portal / NIL world, but I still don't have to like it. It's like two people getting engaged and one of them saying, "I'm committed to you, but I'm going to check out 'Name', 'Name', and 'Name' over the next few weekends to see if they have anything to offer that might change my mind . . . But still, so excited. Love ya!!" Unfortunately, it makes recruiting not worth following. I'll tune in at the end of signing day to see what happened, but don't bother me in the meantime. 10. Sorry to see this happened. Never want to see any injury period to a player. "Week Four leader John Mateer of Oklahoma injured his wrist Saturday in a win over Auburn. 11. I'm going with "mature beyond his experience" Dante Moore. One highly effective, oblivious to the environment, distribute the ball to your plethora of playmakers drive for what looks like an effortless score will suck a lot of the hype out of the white out throng. From then on it's, "Play the game, not the occasion."

  13. NFL talent galore on the field. I'm looking forward to the third round of Will Stein 😇 vs. Jim Knowles. 🤬 The judges' cards are even through two rounds. (OK, the first round may have been a draw? 😁) Will Tosh find a way to stop the PSU run game? Both Allen and Singleton rushed for over 100 yards in last season's B1G champ game. If they do this again on their home field ...? OBD needs to make Allar throw potential INTs. OBD, PSU, ESPN, NBC, and the CFB world at large expected both teams to be undefeated coming into this heavyweight rematch. How much have both coaching staffs on both sides of the ball been hiding against seven overmatched opponents? I think Sadiq will again freak out the Penn State faithful.👺 Show Knowles what he doesn't know! Put a Spankin' on Franklin! Sadiq, Freak Out! 🤪
  14. Hill and Davison, the future might not quite be today, but I think it is this season. They could be great! I hope I’m wrong, but the odds of Noah not being injured throughout the year are slim, and the transfer to date seems underwhelming.

  22. I would recommend checking out the Moshofsky Center, aka the Mo Center, before the game. They have food, beer, games for kids, screens with other football games on and the band/cheerleaders. The Duck might make an appearance and I’ve seen him at tailgates well before the game. As others mentioned, the team will walk through a couple of hours before kickoff. There is some really good craft beer in Oregon. You might even see some fall foliage that time of year. Be sure to check out the Duck shop, which is attached to the Mo Center to get a souvenir/shirt for you son. Have a great time!

  25. I am thinking the same thing. Let’s be honest - Hughes has not looked like anything special when he’s been on the field. There is a reason he didn’t get any carries until the 4th quarter in the Civil War Game with the 2s and 3s. He should probably redshirt this year (if he still has one available) and then transfer to a place he can star next season. Perhaps this is too big of a step up for him? I wish him the best whatever he decides.
  26. From what I've been told from many of my old friends who are Coug and fuskie fans, Duck students aren't any better. They're always going to act like little turds unless you summon some of your old drinking skills and put them to shame. Then they'll worship you like a Norse god.
  27. It is the most hostile road environment in the Big Ten and one of the most iconic atmospheres in college football: The Penn State White Out. A tradition that began with the student section in 2004 morphed into an annual full-stadium, 100,000-plus visual effect that began in 2007. When No. 6 Oregon kicks off against No. 3 Penn State on Saturday (4:30 p.m., NBC) it will be the 18th full-stadium White Out at Beaver Stadium.
