  2. Where Oregon Ducks Stand As No. 1 Basketball Recruit Tyran Stokes Nears DecisionFive-star small forward recruit Tyran Stokes is the No. 1 prospect from the recruiting class of 2026. Stokes has narrowed down his final schools, but where do the Oregon Ducks stand against the USC Trojans, Kansas Jayhawks, Kentucky Wildcats, and the Louisville Cardinals? Where Oregon Stands With StokesThe Oregon Ducks are making a strong push for the No. 1 recruit and doing as much as they can to land Stokes. Notable Oregon alumnus and Nike co-founder Phil Knight has stepped in to help the Ducks land Stokes, according to a report from Rivals. As the No. 1 high school basketball player from the class of 2026, Stokes signed a major Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), that could play a role in his recruitment. Stokes signed a multi-year shoe deal with Nike. With the partnership, it could be more likely that Stokes picks a team also associated with Nike, which would knock the Kansas Jayhawks and Louisville Cardinals lower on his list, as they are with Adidas. Oregon, USC, and Kentucky are Nike-sponsored programs, and his NIL deal could give the Ducks an edge. 12. Indiana’s OC Mike Shanahan should be on Coach Lanning’s shortlist of potential replacements for Coach Stein. I believe that he runs a RPO offense and has put up a lot of points the last couple of seasons. I wouldn’t necessarily judge his offense against Oregon’s defense.
  13. LaMichael was on the team with Blount in 2009, but Blount ended up being suspended after the Boise game. Not much thunder and lightning in 2009.

  15. Yep, they have dropped from -10.5 to as low as -7.5 on BetMGM this morning. If you take away the -3 Oregon gets for hosting at Autzen, at worst there is still a -4.5 spread.in the minds of bettors. Not necessarily the pro money, but the betting public in general. So as least a FG but not as much as a TD. The biggest concern for Duck fans is will the team be focused. I doubt the betting odds weigh much in DL's game prep and team messaging. The upset fever set by last Saturday, particularly the face plant by PSU, could be a blessing as I can't see OBD overlooking this game or coming in without something to prove.

  18. I wonder how much "expert opinions" affect betting? That's another reason that drives everyone including the mailman to have an opinion. Some just get to spout it on TV. The Oregon - Indiana line opened early Sunday with the Ducks favored by 14. That has diminished greatly. It is now around 7-1/2 to 8. Obviously a lot of money was flowing in on Indiana to win/cover that early spread, so the spread had to narrow to get more money flowing to the Oregon side of the house ledger.
  19. You're right Charles, I do remember that now that you mentioned it, I don't think (I could be totally wrong) we used it quite as much in a single game as we did against PSU, correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. Unfortunately I think Miami is for real, I don't see another loss on their schedule, I certainly don't see two losses. It will be interesting to see who they play in the ACC title game, if they play Georgia Tech I think the Yellow Jackets could upset them. They'll be in the playoff this year. One thing is that I don't think Cristobal is getting in the way of his OC this year, I could be wrong, but that team look like a legit top 5 team. Hope I'm wrong and Charles is right though!
  21. We will be adding Miami to this list, as Cristobal will blow it eventually. How? I'm sure Mario will figure it out...
  22. It is a new/old wrinkle, as we ran it under Helfrich in 2014 with Freeman and Tyner, and then later with Joe Moorhead as OC. The Oregon Offense: The Powerful Moorhead ISO Play

  25. Hard to say, I think I might actually lean Texas. Penn St. I don't think is a fraud, I think they just had one of those weeks where their focus completely left them and they got hit by a team that was playing with a new look on life. They got completely hood winked by a offense that was a different look, Nico at QB was let off the chain to do what he does best which is the scramble game. Clemson is doing what Clemson always does now, they maybe would have only two losses right now instead of three normally, but they aren't really doing anything different from what they've been doing for the last 5 or so years. Texas is probably the biggest disappointment considering the talent coming back, they should be much better in every facet of the game, but they haven't executed at all. To lose against a Florida team that looked dead in the water is inexcusable. Sark has usually been seen as a QB whisperer, but Arch is so far from a playoff caliber QB that it is shocking to see a player that hyped look so lost when he isn't beating down lower level opponents..
  26. The two RB look that they've started using with Hill and Davidson is probably the best wrinkle they've added in a long time to the offense. It helps that Davidson is such a great lead blocker. Reminds me a little of when West Virginia had their heyday with Steve Slaton and Owen Schmitt. Hill and Davidson are much better than those two, but the way they play is similar in that two RB look.
  27. Time will tell on this one. Vegas betting lines are moving quickly in favor of IU.
